When they say the money is in the list they are right on the money! The money is in the list but the problem is that most of the time it’s your money and not the other way around. If you think about it, most of the time, the person whose list you’ve just joined doesn’t care about you at all. The last thing on their mind is making you a fortune because all they’re really interested in is increasing their own.

It’s like when you used to get those phone calls telling you that they can show you how you can make a couple of thousand dollars a week. Now they ask for your email address so they can send you the information promising you a followup call. What do you think that followup call is going to be all about? They’re going to try and sell you something, that’s what!

How Not To Get Sucked In By Lists

Send Me Your Money (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

The way I look at it if those guys were making so much money why are they bothering me with it. It’s not because they want to share their good fortune, although that is what they want you to believe. Nope, they need you to buy whatever they’re selling so they can continue to live the life they’re used to.

The guy behind almost every list you’ve joined is just the same as the guy making those obnoxious phone calls. They don’t care about me, they’re only interested in getting their hands on my hard earned money. If they really were interested in me they would do more than just send me some generic email in the hope that I would buy whatever it is they were selling. You’d think the least they would do would be to personalize it somewhat. I don’t mean that they should send a different email to everyone on the list either. Nope, what I mean is they should personalize it by writing something that tells me exactly what it can do for me. Most won’t though because they have no idea what the product their selling does because they haven’t actually outlaid the money to buy their own.

But never mind all that. You want to know how not to get sucked into buying stuff from lists you’ve subscribed to.

Too Good To Be True: This is the number one rule you should use when it comes to doing anything online. If whatever is being offered sounds too good to be true then someone is trying to rip you off.

Are They Using The Product: This isn’t going to be easy so you may have to resort to the first rule. However, if they’re promoting a WordPress plugin you should be able to work out whether or not they’re using it and if they’re not then there is something fishy going on.

Checking The Sales Copy: Every time you get one of those emails trying to sell you something you should examine it more closely. Is it their normal writing style because if it’s not then they probably just copied and pasted some generic sales copy and sent it to you meaning they probably don’t even own it themselves? Oh, that’s right, I may have mentioned that earlier on in the post

Does It Offer Something Of Value To You: This is very important. When buying anything online I try to look past all the sales jargon, looking for something that is of value to me. More importantly it has to be something that I feel others would be interested in.

If something passes all the above criteria, especially the first and last one, I may actually buy it. Once I get my hands on whatever it is I’ve bought I’ll test it out and then no matter what the results are I’ll write about it here giving a truthful account of it.

I have to admit there have been times when I’ve posted about something before actually testing it but that’s usually because there is an introductory special and I don’t want my readers to miss out. I also make sure that I’ve said as much in the post so as to not give them any false impressions.

The thing is you have to have something in place so that when you do join a list you have a set of rules to follow so you don’t buy into everything that is being offered to you but more importantly so you do not miss out on those gems that may actually help you make money online.

I know that there are a lot of bloggers out there who want to monetize their blogs and I also know that the majority of them want to do it on the cheap. This means that they do not want to spend any money doing so. This is why they join Adsense, ClickBank, Commission Junction and other such sites and then scratch their heads when nothing much happens. Sure a trickle of money finds its way into their account but nowhere near enough for them to live on.

I know all this because I was one of those bloggers. It then came to me what I was doing wrong. I wasn’t investing any money, apart from hosting fees, into my online business and as most businessmen will tell you, you’re not going to get far without pumping some money into your business in order to make it grow. My first investment was purchasing a professional theme. That worked well but it took awhile before I realised it wasn’t enough and I started investing in WordPress plugins.

As WordPress users we all know what a great platform it is and one of the things that makes it so great is the amount of plugins available for it. I decided that just as going all out and buying a professional theme worked well for me then perhaps going beyond the free plugins and purchasing professional ones would also do the trick.

And so I started on my hunt for professional plugins, plugins that I believed increased my chances to make money online. Some of the plugins I’ve purchased include.

CommentLuv Premium

WP Zon Builder

IM Graphics

Covert Messenger

Pay Per View

To name a few. For this post I’m going to introduce you to another plugin that I’ve just purchased. This one will help you to publish, customise and monetize the videos on your WordPress blogs. According to the publisher this plugin is normally sold for $67 but JP Schoeffel, more commonly known simply as JP, is running a crazy sale where he is offering a 80% discount and as you know I’m not one to miss out on a sale, especially when I can see the potential in the plugin I am purchasing. Which is why I always publish a post almost immediately after purchasing the plugin so I can offer my readers the same deal, just as I did when I bought Andy’s CommentLuv Premium and I know there are a lot of disappointed bloggers who waited too long thereby missing out on the incredible savings.

Introducing Easy Video Press

I’m sure many of you have read about the value of YouTube videos and how more and more bloggers are using it to provide valuable content to their blogs. I’m also sure there are a lot of people out there who having this knowledge they don’t know what to do with it. Many do not even know how to embed a YouTube video into their blogs! Enter the Easy Video Press plugin! This plugin resolves three ‘what ifs’ situations.

What if I could easily Publish any video on a blog without writing a single line of code, or without pasting obscure embed code?

What if we could easily Customize this video in any way we want withought getting our hands dirty and with just a few clicks, directly on the blog?

Finally, it’s great to be able to easy publish and customize videos, but What If I could easily Monetize this video?

The Easy Video Press provides the answer for all those ‘what ifs’ and it’s why I believe bloggers out there will want to purchase it, both for their own benefit as well as being able to offer it to their readers as an affiliate. Hang on a sec, what’s that? You want to know how it allows you to monetize your videos. Let me list them for you.

How It Monetizes Your Video

Share (send to friend) option (not for .swf videos)

Overlay can be linked to another web page

Redirect to new page when the video or YouTube or sound playback finishes

All of the above can be done on a video by video basis

Can you see the potential? You can install a video about whatever your promoting and once the video has played out it can direct the viewer to whatever product or affiliate you’re promoting. As an example, let’s say you’re promoting a weight loss product. You find a YouTube video that promotes weight loss, adjust the settings for Easy Video Press and then once the video has completed it will automatically direct the viewer to whatever weight loss product you’re affiliated with.

It doesn’t have to be a sales page either, it can be whatever url you choose including one of your own posts! I’m sure you can see the money making potential here. Heck, you can even install your own cover page or logo to the video and make it linkable! Honestly, you should just get Easy Video Press before the price goes up because I don’t know how long you will be able to get it for the incredible price of $18.75. But before you do perhaps you want to see my shortened version of what this incredible plugin can do.

We all know that it’s hard enough to get people to visit your blog which is why we all try our best to get as many people as possible find their way to them. This includes such tedious tasks as SEO and the more enjoyable, if not arduous, task of commenting on other blogs and forums. So, we do all the hard yards to get them on our blogs but it all seems such a waste of time if they don’t click on our affiliate links.

This is because as hard as it is to increase a blog’s traffic it’s even harder to get them to click on an ad. We spoke about this in an old blog post called Rotating Banner Problem Resolved By Max Banner Ads where I concluded that we could reduce the effect of ad blindness by showing the reader a different image every time the page was loaded.

Overcoming Ad Blindness

The problem is that even rotating the ads didn’t work for long because people saw them for what they are, an ad! So, the way to overcome ad blindness is to give them something to click on that got their attention but didn’t look like an ad!

Let me ask you something, what is it that almost everyone is into these days? The answer would have to be some sort of social media, whether it’s FaceBook, MSN, or whatever, and being associated with such media they are constantly exposed to their instant messenger notifications. Enter Covert Messenger.

You’ve probably noticed the plugin in action while reading this post. Yep, that’s the one that popped up in the bottom right hand corner of this blog, the one that I’ve configured to look like a FaceBook instant message. That ad has only just gone live and while writing this post it’s already gotten two clicks, as can be seen on the image below.

Heck, since capturing that picture the figures had just doubled, and this post still hasn’t gone live yet! It just goes to show that rather than being turned away people are actually attracted to this form of ad. Of course they are because they don’t realize that it is an ad, even though mine does give it away because I placed that attention image in it.

Can you see the potential in this form of ad? Because people are going to be more prone to clicking on it you want to make sure that it actually takes them to somewhere useful. Don’t send them to some obscure site or squeeze page just to make a couple of bucks, especially if the product is somewhat suspect. So, what can you use it for?

Building Your List: This would be a great way to build that list you’ve always dreamed of.

Promote Your Affiliates: Can you think of a better way to send people to those affiliate products or services that you know and love?

Promoting A Special Post: This would also be a great way to send visitors to a particular post which may actually be promoting something.

I could go on and on but I’m sure you have a great idea of where I’m coming from.

How Good Is Covert Messenger?

Covert Messenger is a great little plugin for two very good reasons. The first is that it’s been formulated around an idea that has been tested and proved and the second is that its so simple to use. I’ve configured it to show a Facebook ‘instant message’ 10 seconds after the page loads. It then disappears after 60 seconds and reappears again after another 10 seconds. If they close the ad I’ve configured it so it won’t appear for another 24 hours. The beauty of it all is that you can change those values to anything you want so it works just the way you want it to.

As usual with any new plugin there appears to be a time limit before they lift the price. I decided to get in early and that wasn’t just because I wanted to save a few bucks. I would have paid much more for it because I can see how this would be a powerful tool to ad to my IM tool.

During my life as a blogger I’ve been approached many times to give an interview but unfortunately, due to lack of time, I’ve had to decline most of them. Emmanuel of Income Scene was the latest to approach me and luckily for him I not only had the time but the inclination to answer all the questions he provided. This resulted in Peter Pelliccia Interview – Founder Of Wassupblog.com. So, if you would like to learn a little more about me and what makes me tick why don’t you head on over to Emmanuel’s post and don’t forget to leave a comment

Truth be told I was crazy to refuse all those other interviews and I really should have made the time because those interviews would have had great SEO as well as great marketing potential. There are many reasons why you should not make the same mistakes I did and Im going to list them here for you.

Why You Should Do Interviews

Exposure: You’re a blogger right? Well something that all bloggers crave for is exposure and what better way than to answer a few questions in the knowledge that the interviewee will link to your blog in return.

Backlinks: Yep, something else that all bloggers crave are backlinks and just in case that first point slipped past you an interview can lead to several links back to your blog.

Personal Brand: A well answered interview will show the reader that you know what you’re talking about, that you’re a blogger to be reckoned with and that it would be in their best interest to head on over to your blog so as to learn more about what you have to share.

Helping Others: Usually, depending on the questions asked, an interview can help the reader to learn something new about certain topics and once you’ve wet their thirst for knowledge guess where there going to go to learn more?

So, you see there are many positives for doing an interview, so the next time someone contacts you about doing one, get out of your comfort zone and jump at the chance You won’t regret it.

I briefly mentioned impulse sales in a post called My Take On Having Ads On Your Blogs which proved really popular as it generated over 100 comments. For those of you who are not sure what impulse sales are its basically an unplanned decision to buy something that was not part of your original purchase. In other words you went out to buy something in particular when something caught your eye and you bought that as well. Chances are that extra product was placed there for just that specific purpose.

Supermarkets are renowned for making use of peoples psychological tendency to impulse buy. The most obvious area for soliciting an impulse purchase is the placement of sweets or confectionary bars at the checkout. Mothers find this particularly annoying, especially if they’re on a diet or have their kids with them who will complain incessantly until their mom gives in and buys them what they want.

Where To Place Your Impulse Lines

If you owned a shop the logical place to place your impulse lines would be on the shelves using hang sell strips like the the one you see in the image on the right. The owner of this particular store is hoping that although the customer is in a soup aisle the calculators will trigger an impulse to buy one. If things work the way they plan it to they will have produced an extra sale.

Personally, I feel the way to properly trigger an impulse sale, other than having sweets, drinks and the like at the checkouts, would be to offer something that is related to the products that the impulse lines are next to. Rather than calculators perhaps they could have displayed ladles, spices or something along those lines.

I remember years ago when I used to work in a supermarket how I used to continually fill the impulse lines which just goes to show how well they were placed. The ones that particularly come to mind was the chocolate topping and ice-cream cones that were placed along the freezer bay.

For those of you who are thinking that you couldn’t possible produce impulse sales on your blog I say you probably already are. I say this in all confidence because I know a lot of you have Adsense ads on your blog and every time someone clicks on an ad you’re virtually making a sale. You can bet your blogging credentials that they didn’t come to your blog for the purpose of clicking on that ad so that click was generated on a sudden impulse to do so.

Placing Amazon ads on your blog can also produce impulse buying. Just last month I sold a Yamaha YST-SW216BL Subwoofer as well as some dual shielded subwoofer cable. I know for a fact that I didn’t promote those products on any of my blogs which means that customer would have added purely on impulse.

The way to increase your impulse sales is to offer your readers products that are related to your blogging niche or to the post you’re writing. If, for example, I was doing a review on that Yamaha subwoofer I would incorporate an image of subwoofer cable that link to the actual product. A person wanting to purchase the subwoofer could be inclined to also purchase the cable.

As to where to place your impulse lines on your blog the obvious answer would be to place them somewhere above the fold as this would give it the most exposure. This could include places like your header, sidebars and within the post itself. Best results would be achieved by promoting products that have some sort of relation to your niche, or in the case of a post you’ve written then it should be related to the post in some way.

The question now is whether or not others in the blogging industry have experience impulse sales on their blogs? If they have then I’m sure we would all love to know what products were targeted and what was done to trigger the customers impulse to buy?

Out of all the emails I get from my readers the one question that comes up the most is a variation of the following; “Sire, everywhere I go I read that if I want to make money on my blog I really need a product of my own to promote. The problem is I don’t have one and so I really need some advice as to what products I actually can promote.”

Naturally, all the emails were different but that quote portrays the general gist of the emails. Its safe to say that this problem is one that many bloggers struggle with and it is in fact one that I struggled with for a few years myself. The obvious reason is that bloggers, like myself, don’t have our own product to promote and probably never will have. That being the case we join sites like Commission Junction, Clickbank and the like to promote their products by placing links in our post or somewhere else on our blogs. They may get the occasional click but rarely generate a sale and the main reason for this is because there’s usually no relation between the product and what we’re writing about. Even when there is there’s nothing to substantiate our reference to the product unless we’ve shown in some way that we’re actually using the product in question.

The Right Product Will Create Sales

Even though I was making quite a bit of money from doing paid posts it wasn’t until I actually started to invest in my blog that they started to produce income on a more regular basis. How does one invest in their blog? That is a very good question and the answer will be revealed as you continue to read this post. Before I get into the crux of this blog post I need to point out that what follows, for blatantly obvious reasons, will not work on those free bogging platforms such as Blogger and WordPress.com.

Products To promote On Your Blog

Promote Your Web Host: This is a product that many blog owners

Promoting your Web Host

forget to promote and one that can bring in a fair bit of income. While you can place a link within your sidebar, as I have done, that says ‘Proudly Sponsored On BlueHost‘, the best way to promote your web host is to write several posts telling your readers what makes your web host so special and why it would be in their best interest to host their blog or website with them.

Buy A Professional Theme: I would have to say that my biggest earner to date would have to be FlexSqueeze. It could easily have been Thesis as that was the first theme I purchased but it fell so far short of the mark and I wasn’t about to promote something I was unhappy with.

Promote Your Theme

Promoting something simply for the reason of recouping your investment is probably the biggest mistake someone could make. I’ve actually written several posts telling others what makes FlexSqueeze such a great theme and I will continue to do so as every new posts brings in more sales. As each new post has it’s own individual SEO they bring in their own potential new customer base.

Plugins That Make You Money: I’ve always been an advocate of

Promoting Your Plugins To Increase Your Revenue Stream

free plugins but it wasn’t until I started investing in my blog by actually purchasing and promoting those plugins that I’ve found invaluable to my blogging career, that I found a new avenue for making money. The plugin that has been the most profitable would have to be Andy’s CommentLuv Premium and a couple of others include Andy’s IM Graphics plugin and WP Zon Builder. Another great plugin I use which brings in a regular income is OIOpubliasher because it makes it so easy to advertise on my blogs.

The images you see in this post were only possible because of Andy’s IM Graphics plugin. One of the many things it can do is to allow you to input blank graphics as a background and then fill it with the text of your choice. As you can probably tell that would have a lot of potential for the internet marketer.

As I write this post there are other plugins I’ve purchased that I’m hoping will help me along the blogging for money road. I plan to write a post on them once I’ve completed the testing phase.

Now it’s over to you. What products have you chosen to promote on your blogs?

And now, thanks to WP Zon Builder here are some extra resources to help you make money online.

As bloggers there are many of us who would love to make a living from it but unfortunately most of us aren’t doing too well at it. I would say that the first thing a blogger does to monetize their blog would be sticking Adsense ads on it somewhere in the vain hope that someone will click on it. There’s nothing wrong with Adsense ads as they can generate some income but unless you have a huge amount of traffic all you’re going to get is a bit of pocket money.

The other way to blog for money would be through promoting affiliates or by selling your products online. The problem is most of us don’t have products to sell and so we have to rely on selling other peoples products either as an affiliate or by joining sites such as Amazon.

The Importance Of Honest Reviews

Where most people go wrong is the placement of links or banners on their blogs in places such as the sidebars, footer header or within the post itself. They’re hoping that if they supply good content they’ll generate enough traffic and hopefully someone will be interested enough in their ad placements to click on a link. Unfortunately this isn’t exactly what you would call targeted traffic and while some may actually click on a link or banner they rarely result in a sale and unfortunately no sale means no cash in your pocket.

The trick to making a sale is giving your customers what they want. That means while sticking something unrelated at the end of the post may make you feel good, in that you’ve done something to create income, but it’s pretty well useless. You may get lucky if its related in some way to your post but not by much.

What you should be doing is writing a review about a product that you actually use and love elaborating on the positive aspects as well as any negatives you may have come across. Having said that the problem with reviews is that they don’t always work and the reasons for that are;

A lack of trust: People don’t know who you are and therefore don’t trust you enough to take your word for it. This is the number one reason why new bloggers find it so hard to earn any sort of income when they first start off. Those that give up say that blogging for money isn’t possible while those who persevere and who over time have built a presence slowly start to see that blogging for money can actually be a reality.

Not Having enough products to sell: So, let’s say you’ve stuck it out and people now trust you enough to take you at your word when recommending a product or service. The problem you now have, unless you have a lot of money behind you, is the inability to physically purchase all the products you wish to review.

The Best Review Is A Customers Review

There’s also the problem that even though you have over time built a presence and a modicum of trust with your readers people will continue to hesitate when it comes to completing a sale because of the perception that your review is skewed in that you have an ulterior motive for writing it. You can’t really blame them either because there are so many reviews out there from people who have never tried the product and have written a whole lot of crap just to make the sale.

This isn’t true of reviews written by actual customers who have nothing at all to gain from writing it. When you think about it, time being what it is, there’s only two reasons why someone will take the time to write a review. They either really love a product or they really hate it. Reading the reviews on any given product gives you a feel for how good that product really is. This is one of the reasons why I purchased WP Zon Builder and wrote the post Why I Love WP Zon Builder.

Yesterday I was looking at my Sexual Aids blog and I noticed that one particular post was getting a lot of attention, as were the links on that post. The problem was it wasn’t generating much in the way of sales and it was after much thought that I come to the conclusion which resulted in this post. Naturally I decided to do something about it which was to point all the links to Amazon rather than to the site I had been using as an affiliate.

Naturally to facilitate this I used WP Zon Builder which made the transition a breeze. As you can see from the post The Ten Most Popular Vibrators, each of the vibrators in question now has a link to Amazon, an image of the product as well as a link to the customer reviews. I’ve also stipulated in the post that people should take the time to read the reviews to see whether or not it’s the one best suited to them. Whether they click on the review or the product link doesn’t matter as either way my affiliate link is embedded into both links.

The question now is am I right in making all the above assumptions? What say you, is there value in what I have portrayed above or do you see fault in it somewhere. Either way I’d love to hear your thoughts on it.

Yeah, I know, that heading is a little on the long side but I just felt it was necessary because it explains exactly what this post is all about. The thing to remember about your blog is that, where advertising is concerned, there are areas on your blog that can be considered advertising real estate. These areas include the header, footer, sidebars and within the post itself. Of all the areas the ones considered most valuable are the ones above the fold. The first time I saw the term ‘above the fold‘ I didn’t have a clue what they were talking about. I now know that when people talk about something being above the fold they are referring to the section of your blog, or web page, that is visible on your screen before you start scrolling down. Everything else is below the fold.

If you look at my Well Blog Me Blog you will notice that it utilizes FlexSqueeze’s Top Feature which allows you to advertise your favourite affiliates in the prime position. The only drawback is that it can take a lot of room, depending how many affiliates you’re promoting and how big, if any, your banners are.

Making The Best Use Of Your Header

I used to use the top feature on this blog but removed it awhile back when doing some spring cleaning. I decided to introduce it again after becoming a FlexSqueeze Premium Member which gave me access to a whole heap of stuff including The Feature Slider Plugin which you can see in action above. I’ve set it so that it gives visitors enough time to read each slide before it moves onto the next one. Visitors also have the choice to manually slide them to and fro.

Adding the slides is as easy as adding a text widget to the top feature area. One text widget for each slide. In my slide show I’ve incorporated images, also thanks to being a Premium Member, as well as a description with links where I’ve deemed them necessary. These links either link to one of my affiliates or to one of my posts thereby adding to the internal linking which as most of you know adds to your SEO.

At the moment I’ve only got three slides but I will be increasing them as time goes by, each slide that I add will be promoting those affiliates or products that I feel are essential to those aspiring bloggers who want to increase their online income.

Will the slider work? I don’t really know. Only time will tell but I know that having it right there above the fold will only improve it’s chances. Do you think the slider will increase my potential for making money online?

Customer service has always been important but never so important as it is today. The reason for this is the Internet as online business is definitely giving the bricks and mortar business a run for their money. Sure many of them can offer their products online but the one thing where they can really excel is in offering their customers the personal one on one service. The company that I work for has recently implemented a set of rules that all the staff have to abide by. The reason for these rules is to give our customers the best ever shopping experience when coming to our store.

Some of the stuff they want as to do is a bit hard to swallow for some because it goes against what they are used to but even though this may be the case everyone is pulling together to make sure that our customers come first. So, what are some of the things that are expected of us? I’m so glad that you asked.

Earning The Customer’s Trust

What would be the first thing that is required of you when returning a product? The obvious answer is proof of purchase but that is no longer required in our store. In fact, it’s been

Earn Your customer’s trust and loyalty

drummed into us that asking the customer for proof of purchase merely shows a luck of trust. So, if the customer comes to us complaining about some cream that is off we’re not to ask for a receipt at all. Instead we’re to apologise to them and ask them what we can do to make up for their misfortune. This can be anything from replacing the product, refunding the money to giving then a cooked chook in case the off cream spoiled their dinner.

Providing Exceptional Service

The customer is deserving of the best service possible and it is up to us as employees to provide it. This means that if a customer comes up to us because they can’t find a product we have to drop everything, no matter what we’re doing, and lead them to the product. While doing this we have to make sure we engage them in friendly conversation which means that we can’t just rush off expecting them to keep up with us, we have to walk

Customers love and appreciate great service

alongside them.

Once we show them where the product they’re looking for is located we then ask whether or not we can assist them in any other way. This is great for the customer but most of the staff are worried that the extra time this will take will hurt our productivity which will result in the managers busting our balls as to why our work isn’t getting done. According to the the woman giving the course this won’t happen because they, the managers, will have their own guidelines that they will have to follow.

Going Above And Beyond

We all know how annoying it can be when the products you’re looking for is unavailable don’t we? Well, if that happens to one of our customers there are several things that we

The more service you give the more loyalty you’ll win

can do to make sure they leave with a smile on their face, anything from a raincheck if it’s on special, a similar product for the same price to giving something away for free. Heck, if all else fails we’re even allowed to offer a couple of bucks off their shopping and all without having to ask the bosses for permission. Talk about empowering the staff.

Needless to say the customers are loving it as are many of the staff as they get used to the new system. While there may be some that will abuse the system we’re assured they are in the minority and whatever we give away in stock or money will be more than compensated by the new won customer loyalty not to mention the excellent positive PR.

What Can You Do As An Internet Marketer?

For those of us who hope to become successful Internet Marketers we also have to do our best to give those who frequent our sites the best possible experience. There are several ways that we can do this.

A professional looking theme that is pleasing to the eye, one that makes them want to get their credit card out would be ideal

A fast loading site is essential as customers are an impatient lot and will rather move on than have to wait for a site to load.

It’s essential that your theme uses an easy to read font, one that isn’t too small as you’ll find that the majority of your potential customers won’t want to strain themselves while reading about what you have to offer.

It’s also important to engage with your prospective customers. You can do this via your comment section and via your contact page.

Remember the customer is alwaysright. This means even when

The customer is always right Remember that & you’ll go far

they’re wrong they’re right. This means if they’re not happy with something that you’ve sold them, let’s say a plugin you’ve developed, instead of getting all defensive find out exactly what the problem is and then try and resolve it. You will find the knowledge that you’re actually listening to them and are honestly trying to resolve the issue will win them over.

OK, it’s over to you guys now. What are other ways we can improve our vistors / potential customers experience while visiting our sites?

I hadn’t planned to write a post today but after reading Adrienne’s post How To Get Others To Build Your Links I got so exited that unlike Adrienne who waited a month or so to compile her data I decided to write immediately so my blogging mates could get in on the action now rather than after I ran my own tests. Oh yes, there will be a followup post, that’s for sure.

Adrienne’s post was all about the service offered by Tynt, yeah amazing isn’t it, that’s not even an affiliate link According to the people at Tynt they are ‘the world’s leading publisher toolset‘ and using them will ‘Improve your seo, keep users longer and measure your user engagement by leveraging the power of copy and paste.’ Let’s see what they have to say for themselves shall we?

Letting Copy And Paste Work For You

If the guys at Tynt have got their facts right we can then assume that there are way more

More Link Backs

people sharing our content than we ever realised! The problem is that when they copy and paste it into their emails to share it with their friends we’re not getting any benefit from it whatsoever! That is of course unless you use Tynt. Of course you guys know I wouldn’t recommend something unless I’ve used it personally, how I wish these guys had an affiliate membership I could join , so you can assume that I’m using them right now. Actually you can even test it. Go ahead, try to copy and paste something from this post, or any other, and paste it into your email, don’t worry, I’ll wait for you to come back…….See, it actually works. It even works if you paste the content into a blog post or into a blog’s comment form. Can you see the potential for having this on your site?

Making Scraped Content Work For You

Do you remember that post I did on scum bags scraping my posts, you know, the one

Email links to your posts

called Has Your Blog Been Stolen? It was because of that post that I now protect them with Digiprove! Digiprove doesn’t stop them from being scraped but now when I find them I can easily prove the content is mine making it easier to coerce them to remove the post.

The problem with scraped posts is that unless someone tells you about it or you stumble upon one of your own posts on another blog you’ll probably never know about them. With Tynt you will have a link back to your post. Sure, if someone scrapes it manually they can remove the link but most times the scraping happens automatically because of a script they’re using and if that is the case they may never know of it so at least now you’ll get a link back which will probably help you to find the culprit.

However, that is only an added benefit that I personally feel you will get from using Tynt. Don’t forget all the other benefits, the main one being the link back to your post or site every time someone copies your content, whether it’s in their email, FaceBook Tweet or whatever.

I won’t know about the SEO benefits, extra traffic, measuring user engagement or any of

And so much more?

the other benefits the guys at Tynt promise until I do my own tests over time, but don’t wait until then. Install it now and conduct your own tests. Even if the only thing that is true about it is that every time someone copies part of your content to email to their friends you get a link back, that alone should be enough.

So, what say you, are you going to sign up for Tynt, which is free by the way? If not I would really love to hear your reasons why you won’t use their services.
