Dragons Creatures Of Mystery

I don’t know why but I love dragons and I have done so for as long as I can remember. Some of my favorite books include dragons. These include Anne McCafferrey’s Dragon series right up to Christopher Paolini’s Inheritance which stars the magical Saphira and her Dragon Rider Eragon. So far I’ve read Eragon, Eldest, Brisinger and I am patiently waiting for the next book to come out.

I also collect dragon figurines. This is one of the first one I bought, and I’m not a fanatic so I don’t have all that many. It’s made of pewter and I photoshopped it a little so it looks like it’s flying over my neighborhood.

Mythical Dragon

Here’s a little poem about dragons and dragon riders that I put together .

Dragons, a creature of mystery
Of legends but not of history
Many stories have been told
In books & dark nights they unfold

Majestic, mighty and terrible too
Their mighty roar and flames ensue
Respect and fear they do command
It’s strength no warrior can withstand

Of Dragon Riders I have heard
Mighty legends passed on by word
A bond between Rider and Dragon has begun
No longer two, they have become one.

Thoughts and feelings they now combine
Together forever their lives entwined
Feats of valour of the pair are told
Yet not today will this story unfold.

One of my favorite dragons would have to be this Swarovski Crystal. I fell in love with Swarovski! after seeing the Crystal Dragon. It was part of the ‘Fabulous Creatures’ collection and as only SCS members were allowed to purchase these pieces I quickly joined. This is the first crystal piece I ever bought. In following years I also bought Pegasus and the Unicorn with many pieces in between.

Trey of Swollen Thumb Entertainment has even written a instrumental piece called Beware Of The Dragon. I think when Trey wrote this the dragon he had in mind is the sort that would swoop down on you breathing fire and brimstone and perhaps picking up a stray man or woman as a tasty morsel. I much prefer those dragons who have befriended humans but are not against eating those lowlifes who would spam blogs or scrape them for their content.

Blog Me This You Blogging Fools

OK my blogging mates, I think it’s time that I tempt fate by writing another of my poems, and seeing as how What Bloggers Do was so popular I thought that I would use this one to pass on a little link love, that and a very important message! In case you didn’t get it, if you haven’t got the ‘Subscribe To Comments‘ plugin I seriously suggest you put it on the ‘To Do’ list. OK, enough with the commentary, it’s time to read the poetry.

Blog me this you blogging fool
Are you using the right blogging tools
Subscribe To Comments you need for sure
This plugin should be part of your plugin core

Why this plugin I hear you ask?
For your commenter’s it’s less of a task
To remind them when someone replies
They will love it, I tell you no lies

There’s many a blogger wise and true
Who’ve made this plugin part of their crew
They know that those who left a comment
Would love to know of added content

There’s many a blog I will read
And Leaving a comment is part of my creed
But unless I’m reminded of what I’ve left
That post of further comments will be bereft

There are many blogs I love to read
And of these blogs I must concede
They see me more than the rest
Because in this plugin they did invest

TycoonBlogger, he’s no fool
Using this plugin makes him cool
He loves to hand out blogging tips
And this ones about adding a video clip.

Stratos I’ve know for quite awhile
There’s more than one post that I’ve found worthwhile
If you can’t find a plugin to get the job done
Stratos is the man that can make you one

Embracing Home, I have only just found
Her blog is based on very firm ground
More than just letting God’s light shining
Learn also how to lose weight while dining

Bunny Got Blog is not about bunnies
Nor is it about how to make money
Oriented around business you will find it hot
But careful you must be or she’ll kick your bots

Not been to iblogZone, well your missing out
This blogging man has without a doubt
Many a post that does more than instruct you
He even posts on how to increase Adsense revenue

More in common than the plugin they use
These bloggers on this blog to comment they choose
If you wish to feature in a poem one day
Perhaps more than reading you should have your say

If this poem you did enjoy
Then I’d love if you did employ
To give it a stumble, tweet or a digg
Or perhaps another of your social gigs :wink_ee:

Sire’s So Stupid

I’ve mentioned a few times how I am a member of several community blog sites and of those writingup.com was one of the most popular. As popular as it was it didn’t managed to survive which is why I am always telling the serious blogger how they should have a blog on their own domain.

Anyway, I had quite a good time on writingup, and as it turns out I was a bit of a mischievous flirt. I wrote a poem there that I called, Sire’s So Stupid, and as I recall it got quite a few comments, as did Ode To His Women, that I have posted on one of my other blogs. Perhaps some of you used to be members of the now defunct writingup, and if so you may well remember some of the bloggers in the following poem, or even in Ode To His Women.

Yeah! You heard right. Sire is Stupid!
Who else but Sire feigns to play Cupid?
The only thing he did that was sane
Was the Ode To His Women, that is plain
As for the rest, lets put it to the test
And see how his stupidity reigns the best

Forever does he try, to look up sassys skirt
For he has heard her arse is so pert.
Then you all know how its spookys pants
And his attempt to get into them put all in a trance
Thank God for Diva Jamaicana’s sobriety
She tries to make Sire acceptable to society
And Bornsandy, without you Sire would be lost
If not for you Sire from WU would be tossed

Sire’s so stupid, his quotes are crude
But Inquest is there to change the mood
Sire’s so stupid he always posts of money
Yet Skouba’s there to remind him it ain’t funny
Sire’s so f’n stupid he always gets sucked in
To such challenges as Quantamamas stupid postin’

Sire’s so stupid, he talks of himself in the third person
Sire’s so stupid he will never learn his lesson
Sire’s so stupid, though he will fail this test!
Sire’s so bloody stupid he will still think himself the best!

Blogging As A Source Of Information

The good thing about being a blogger is that not only can you share your experiences with others you can also share theirs. This is all possible through interaction with those who visit your blog and by visiting the blogs of others. I believe that interaction through commenting is the key to a successful blog which is why a lot of my posts are dedicated to different facets of commenting.

Blogging is also a great way to discover new things which brings me to the crux of this post. In South Australia we have a phenomena known as the Whispering Wall which is a great little stopover when visiting the Barossa Valley, our premier wine region.

The Whispering Wall

Work on the dam commenced in 1899 and was completed in 1903. The design was so new it even made the Yanks sit up and take notice. At a height of 36 meters and length of 144 meters it was remarkable for the time, but although the wall offers great views of the Barossa Reservoir and surrounding area that is not what makes it one of the most visited attraction in South Australia.

Whispering Boy

What makes The Whispering Wall so popular is its unique acoustic effects that allow you to whisper at one end, and have your friend hear your whisper 144 meters away. If you were to continue the dam it would form a perfect circle and it’s the perfect curve of the dam wall that bounces the sound waves, along the wall.

I believe that other phenomena exists in other parts of the world and I am asking you, my readers to enlighten me as to what they are and where they can be found. Perhaps, if you are a blogger, you may want to do a post about it and link back to this post. I will then add a link to your post within this post.

Just to finish off, a little poem that I put together.

The Whispering Wall
Stands strong and firm
For many years its waters held
Many a word it has heard

A lover’s promise
A villain’s curse
A child’s laughter
A bully’s boast

Yet careful you must be
What one end says
The other end hears
No secret does it hold dear

Wassup Blog’s Mean Woman Blues

I think it’s time that I have a little fun with one of my poems. I reckon there are many of you who realize that I am not that great a poet but doesn’t stop me from trying to have a little fun with my poems. You may remember “Bullshit Is Not A Dirty Word“, where I changed the words of a famous Skyhooks song? Well, in this next one I played around with Roy Orbison’s Mean Woman Blues!

I got a woman mean as she can be
She plucks my eyes out so that I can’t see
I’m screaming in pain and she just don’t care
She just spits in my face and then pulls my hair

Oh, pity me woman, the pain is too much
Laughing hysterically she kicks me in the crutch
I bend over screaming clutching my balls
Thinking I am a man and I should stand tall

For stuff sake woman was it what I said
That your arse looks fat when you wear red
Or maybe it was that fateful day in May
When you caught me in bed with your sister Kay

Yeah I got a woman mean as she can be
She sees no reason and does not pity me
The pain I am feeling simply has no effect
I am blinded and her blows I just can’t deflect

Yeah I have no eyes but I see clearly now
You’re a bitch, a whore and a big fat cow
You drove me to that sister of yours
Every time I saw you pull down your drawers

That was a site that no man should see
I’m sure that all men would agree with me
So beat me woman as much as you can
A life in hell is better for this wretched man

Yep, I have a woman mean as she can be
But no longer can that woman torment me
And I’ve gone to hell where I belong
For making up this wretched song.
