Quality Blog Headers

You may well remember the post I did awhile back called Make Money Online Selling Headers which was all about offering quality blog headers to those who require them? Some of you have been asking whether or not I’m still going ahead with it and if so what’s taking me so long. The answer is of course yes! If I say I’m going to do something I do it! The reason it’s taking so long is twofold. The firs is I’m putting together a package of quality blog headers and you just can’t rush quality. The second is the size of the package. At the moment I’ve put together about 150 quality blog headers and I’m aiming for a total of 200 quality blog headers.

I’m also planning to let others sell the headers as an affiliate using JVZoo as my affiliate base. At the moment I’m thinking of a 50% commission rate which I feel should encourage some to take it on. I’m also thinking of offering my list members a chance of purchasing it at 50% off. I’m not sure how to go about this. Any ideas anyone?

Truth be told even though the bulk of these headers are perfect for blog headers as they don’t have any slogans on them they could also be used for websites. I’m open to suggestions for slogans for these headers if you’re at all interested in purchasing it, just leave a comment of what you require.

To sweeten the deal I’m also including 200 banner size images of the headers. These would be great for sites like Cool Blog Links as well as other advertising potential. That’s not all. I’m also going to incude a set of unique call to action banners like the one below.

Do you love Aussie humour? Good but first, welcome to Friday Funnies, the post that many wait for in anticipation. Especially after a hard week working your butts of for an unappreciative boss. Or maybe you’re one of the lucky ones who are happily working for themselves in a stress free atmosphere?  Either way, you’re going to love this weeks Friday Funnies #64 which has a ripper Aussie joke, a great blonde joke from Sexy Sal and a YouTube video you’re going to absolutely love.

But before I get to that I want to share a couple of links with you. The first is my Make Money Online page. This particular page is a work in progress and shows you some of the features that is built into the FlexSqueeze theme. It also shows you a little of what the Logo Creator is capable of. Expect an update showing you more of what it can do at a later date.

The second link serves two purposes, one being to show off a banner I created with the Logo-Creator and the other to notify you of the latest Powerball jackpot which is worth us$ 475 million. Man, I won’t be giving up blogging at all. Nope, I’d just be doing it in different parts of the globe. Aussie Humour Ringer Meets St Peter

A ringer from a huge cattle station in outback Australia appeared before St Peter at the Pearly Gates.”Have you ever done anything of particular merit?” St. Peter asked.

It’s true, not all blogs have the same money making potential. Niche blogs have a greater potential for making money as long as you choose the right niche. My first niche blog was my sexual aids blog and because of the nature of the blog it can’t host Adsense ads. That being the case it relies solely on selling online products. It’s currently running at a profit but nothing that would make you sit up and take notice. Considering the amount of effort I put into it and the traffic I’m pretty happy with it’s performance.

My second niche blog was my online lottery site. I am able to use Adsense on this site but it doesn’t perform at well, probably because Google displays the wrong ads. This doesn’t bother me because it’s my best performing niche site to date. I know I can improve its performance but I just haven’t allocated the time to do that.

Improving A Blog’s Money Making Potential

As most of you probably realize this is my favourite blog and that’s not because of the money it does bring in. Nope, it’s because it’s not a niche blog which means I can write about anything that I want. Even so it does make money but I rarely try make it more profitable. I usually just write a post or page and then forget about it.

Way back in 2010 I wrote about the people search craze. At the time I was so interested in the opportunities that I created a page to promote it. One of those set and forget pages. Yesterday I revisited that page only to find the links no longer work. Rather than trying to work out why I decided to redo the whole Make Money Online page. It’s currently a work in progress but upon completion it will be my most informative post with heaps of money making potential. Both for me personally and for those who’re smart enough to follow my advice.

I would really appreciate if you would take a look at that page and leave a comment on how you think it’s progressing. Having said that, the thing I want you to take away from this post is to check your old posts or pages to see whether or not they’re performing as they should. Look at them critically and work out ways where you can improve their money making potential.

CEO Stuff Up Workplace Humor

If you’ve ever worked for a boss who reacts before getting the facts and thinking things through, you will love this!

Arcelor-Mittal Steel, feeling it was time for a shakeup, hired a new CEO. The new boss was determined to rid the company of all slackers.

On a tour of the facilities, the CEO noticed a guy leaning against a wall. The room was full of workers and he wanted to let them know that he meant business. He asked the guy, “How much money do you make a week?”

A little surprised, the young man looked at him and said, “I make $400 a week. Why?”

The CEO said, “Wait right here.” He walked back to his office, came back in two minutes, and handed the guy $1,600 in cash and said, “Here’s four weeks’ pay. Now GET OUT and don’t come back.”

Feeling pretty good about himself the CEO looked around the room and asked, “Does anyone want to tell me what that goof-ball did here?”

Googles Attitude?

Yes indeed Googles attitude exists and we all know it. At one time or another I’m sure everyone of you have had something to complain about Google. Whether it’s because of all it’s ‘animal’ updates, the latest being the Penguin update. It’s almost like they’re running a zoo instead of a search engine. The problem is every time they come up with an update someone out there suffers because of it. That someone could have been you.

Perhaps you lost your PR or perhaps your traffic numbers went down considerably. Google also has other ways of torturing us. As publishers many of us use Adsense ads on their blogs or websites. I’m sure many of you have read of instances were Google has banned sites from using Adsense or even closed down publishers accounts without any warning. Perhaps you’ve been affected by this type of action. I know I have, specifically my Sexual Aids site and my Load Of Bullshit site.

Heck, I know of people, like my mate Mitch for example, who lost adsense on his blog because of a post he did on cleavage! Speaking of cleavage I did a post called Cleavage Is Bullshit, which I’m sure all the guys out there will appreciate. As I’ve said, I’ve already lost Adsense on that blog so I don’t have to worry about offending Google. That’s the whole problem, you never know whether or not something you’ve written in total innocence will piss Google off enough for them to cancel Adsense on your blog.

Yep, Googles attitude exist and perhaps in a way I can even understand why they do it. They believe they owe it to their advertisers and perhaps some of them would be upset if their ads were displayed on our sites when we publish these depraved posts! Heaven forbid if one of their ads appeared on a post discussing women wearing a low cut dress or something. Sort of makes you wonder though how Google can place an ad such as this one on our site!

Yeah, not bad huh? Not only is she showing some cleavage but you have to admit the image is very provocative, wouldn’t you? Well, how about Google offending my readers? They don’t seem to care about us at all do they? That’s Googles attitude for you.

You know, maybe we’re the ones that should be pissed!

Think about it for a minute! Where would Google Adsense be if they didn’t have any publishers willing to display their ads? They’d be looking for another avenue to make money, that’s for sure. I don’t know about you but lately Google has been acting a little like Scrooge as far as Adsense is concerned. There have been occasions where I’ve generated  10 – 20 clicks and earned under 10 cents. That’s pretty pathetic! Heck, if that keeps up I reckon I won’t have to worry about them deleting my Adsense account because I’ll be giving them the flick first.

Choices, Yes Or No?

Choices are important! I personally believe that customers need the option to choose between products when they’re out looking for something to buy. Let’s say that you’re shopping for a new TV and you had to choose between a store that only had one brand or a store that offered a lot of different brands, which one would you choose? I know which one I would go to. Now let’s say you chose to got to the store that only offered you one brand, let’s say the Sony Bravia, because you were looking for a Sony. What if they only offered on particular TV? How long would you stay in that store? Not too long I bet.  I’ve been in retail for most of my life and it’s been my experience that unless a customer is looking for a specific product they want to be able to choose. Sure, sometimes having to choose from many items can be a bit of a headache but they still want that option. Let’s look at this from a stores point of view. The reason the store exists is to make as much money as possible. Store owners know that their best option is to offer more choices  rather than fewer because that’s the only way they’re going to satisfy the majority of customers. More importantly, they’ll be able to target a greater market group.

Even though the majority of bloggers and marketers out there are saying you need to give prospective customers less choices rather than more I have to disagree. I don’t even care if they can pull figures out of the air to prove their point, I honestly believe that unless someone has come to your blog to look for a specific product which you have on offer you won’t make the sale. This is one of the reasons I offer Adsense ads on my blog. Adsense offers people another choice. Sure it will take them away from your blog but if you did your job properly it won’t cost you a sale and at least you get something out of it. Even though lately I’ve noticed I’ve been getting a lot of clicks with no revenue. Still, it’s all about giving your customer that extra service. I know when I had a store and I didn’t have what the customer was looking for I was happy to tell them who could help them out because I knew it would add to their having a positive experience while in my store. Whenever possible I try to offer my customers choices. Take this post on a Fishfinder Digital Watch! Even though the post was for a specific watch I gave my prospective customers a selection of four more watches to choose from at the end of the post. One of the reasons I use Amazon is because I know they have a huge selection of products. On more than one occasion I’ve made a sale of a product I didn’t actually promote. This is only because I sent a customer to Amazon and their many choices got me the sale and the commission. It’s why I offer more than one product at the end of my Friday Funnies posts and why those posts generate so many clicks. So, tell me, what are your views on offering you customers a choice? The question on everyones lips is who exactly is Sexy Sal? Well, to the best of my knowledge  ( ) Sexy Sal is the sexy cyber woman who just loves to tell blonde jokes. Come to think of it, we tend to think alike and even laugh at all the same jokes. Unlike me though, she is not the shy type and absolutely loves it when people talk about her and her jokes. Nothing pleases her more than to be shared around on Facebook or Pinterest. Heck, she’d even love to be Google +’d if that means that more people get to know her. Yep, Sexy Sal definitely isn’t the shy type, not by any means.

Baptising An Irishman

An Irish man is stumbling through the woods, totally drunk, when he comes upon a preacher baptizing people in the river. The drunk proceeds into the water, subsequently bumping into the preacher.

The preacher turns around and is almost overcome by the smell of alcohol, whereupon, he asks the drunk, “Are you ready to find Jesus?”

The drunk shouts, “Yes, oi am.”

So the preacher grabs him and dunks him in the water. He pulls him back and asks, “Brother, have you found Jesus?”

The drunk replies, “No, oi haven’t found Jesus!”

The preacher, shocked at the answer, dunks him again but for a little longer. He again pulls him out of the water and asks, “Have you found Jesus, me brother?”

The drunk answers, “No, oi haven’t found Jesus!”

By this time, the preacher is at his wits end and dunks the drunk again — but this time holds him down for about 30 seconds, and when he begins kicking his arms and legs about, he pulls him up. The preacher again asks the drunk, “For the love of God, have you found Jesus?”

The drunk staggers upright, wipes his eyes, coughs up a bit of water, catches his breath, and says to the preacher, “Are you sure this is where he fell in?”

I’ve always said that too many people concentrate too much on getting a better PR when what they should be concentrating on is ways to increase their traffic. Getting more traffic is more important because you can earn more from getting more people to your blog than you can from a great PR. That is of course unless you’re selling ad spots on your site or if you’re getting payed to do posts. My last two gigs got me $100 each for about 300 words per post. Trouble is that is a rarity and a great traffic base has more potential for a recurring income.

Idea To Getting More Traffic

There are a lot of different ways of increasing your site’s traffic and one that I’ve spoken of in the past is blog commenting. Blog commenting alone has gotten my Alexa ranking to around 60,000. Hoever, once I cut back on that because it was just too time consuming I noticed traffic dropping off and my Alexa ranking increasing. The question was what do I do about it?

That was when I came up with my Friday Funnies series. I thought if I could get people interested in a particular regular post then I could at least secure a regular source of traffic. That alone would guarantee bring me more traffic on a regular basis. Is it working? The answer is yes. My Alexa is currently at 63000 and fairly stable. I checked Google analytic and wasn’t at all surprised to see the following.

Google Search Engine Queries

As you can see the majority of queries relate to my Friday Funnies post. So in essence it proves they’re doing their job. I’ve even made some sales from the Amazon products I’ve tagged on at the end of some of those posts.

In my last Friday Funnies I introduced my readers to Sexy Sal, her debut so to speak. I’m hoping that in time she will be as popular as Aunt Acid. I never would have attempted this if it wasn’t for the Logo Creator software that I purchased recently. I used it to create this little banner that will appear on all Sexy Sal cartoons.

I’m hoping that in time Sexy Sal will be an integral part of getting more traffic to WassupBlog. Heck, if she gets shared around like Aunt Acid I won’t know what hit me.

Before we get into this weeks Friday Funnies, Five Older Ladies, I want to remind everybody that Mother’s Day isn’t all that far away. In case you didn’t know Mothers Day was invented by those sly marketers so they could capitalize on people’s love for their mothers. They made sure that mothers knew about it so that they would expect something from their kids. Even though they would never say anything we all know how devastated they would be if they were forgotten on this day. Especially when going out for a coffee with their friends and having to listen to all the gifts they got from their children and dreading the “What did your kids get for you?”

Yep, those marketers are a cruel bunch, but that’s no reason why you shouldn’t get in on the action. My previous post outlines what I did to capitalise on this important opportunity to milk the situation.

Five Older Ladies

If you’re a Friday Funnies regular you know that I’ve featured the antics of the older generation on a few occasions. Well, I’ve got another one today because they’re almost as popular as the blonde jokes I know you’re going to love this one.

Sitting on the side of the highway waiting to catch speeding drivers, a Police Officer sees a car puttering along at 22 MPH.
Says he to himself: “This driver is just as dangerous as a speeder!”

So he turns on his lights and pulls the driver over.
Approaching the car, he notices that there are five old ladies,
two in the front seat and three in the back…wide eyed and white as ghosts.

The driver, obviously confused, says to him “Officer, I don’t understand, I was doing exactly the speed limit!
What seems to be the problem?”

“Ma’am,” the officer replies, “you weren’t speeding, but you should know that driving slower than the speed limit can also be a danger to other drivers.”

“Slower than the speed limit? No sir, I was doing the speed limit exactly…Twenty-two kilometres an hour!” ..the old woman says a bit proudly.

The Police officer, trying to contain a chuckle explains to her that 22 is the highway number, not the speed limit.

A bit embarrassed, the woman grins and thanks the officer for pointing out her error.

“But before I let you go, Ma’am, I have to ask…Is everyone in this car OK? These women seem awfully shaken, and they haven’t made a peep this whole time,” the officer asks.

“Oh, they’ll be all right in a minute officer. We just got off Highway 189..”

Yeah, that’s almost as good as last weeks Friday Funnies
