Do Thumbnails And Keywords Make A Difference

Do Thumbnails And Keywords Make A Difference? Whether thumbnails and keywords make a difference is a question many YouTubers are asking themselves. Personally I believe that thumbnails and keywords does make a difference which is why I invested in Tube Buddy to help me with my keywords, you can get the free version here. I also invested in The Graphics Creator to help me with designing my Thumbnails. My Thumbnail And Keywords Comparison Test For years I've persisted with one YouTube channel, My Bonzer Channel. My Bonzer Channel covers a lot of topics, from how to videos to funny jokes. Over the years, I started it in 2007, I've grown it to 2.62k subscribers with 751 videos. I posted my first video on Laughaholics in Deccember 2021. My intention for Laughaholics was to repurpose my jokes from My Bonzer Channel changing only the keywords and thumbnails. Imagine my surprise when Laughaholics took off and I was able to monetize it a hell of a lot quicker than My Bonzer Channe! At least until YouTube decided to demonetize it saying I was copying content. I did a video on that and you can watch it here if your interested. Proving To YouTube Video Ownership I wasn't going to give up though. I wanted my Laughaholics monetization back. That didn't happen until I made a video telling YouTube why they should reinstate Laughaholics. You can watch that video here. As I'm writing this post, I now have 1.18k subscriber with 355 videos. Thumbnails And Keywords Does Make A Difference In general I have found that for the majority of videos on Laughaholics, thumbnails and keyword have made a big difference. My most popular post on Laughaholics is Little Johnny Asks Naked Mom About Breasts with 207k views. On My Bonzer Channel that video went by Little Johnny Showers With Mom Joke and only got 494 views. You will of course notice the different keywords and thumbnails. I'm not going to compare all the videos because that will take too long. Instead I'm going to compare my last video which is Hilarious Joke About Big Jake. That video is 5 days old and has 4 views. Compare that to my Funny Big Jake Is Coming Joke, which was published Dec 26 2024 and has 12 views. Other Topics To Keep You Entertained I’ve recently got a Google Doorbell as a gift and you can read my review here. And now, for my customary self-promotion of my growing YouTube Channel. As you know, I’m always looking for new subscribers, so why not consider subscribing to my My Bonzer Channel.  Perhaps you like to have a good laugh? Is It Worth Doing Shorts On YouTube?

What Is The Real Value Of YouTube Shorts? This post is about whether it's Worth Doing Shorts On YouTube? I've been doing shorts on YouTube for a while now, and I've learned a few interesting facts about YouTube Shorts. I'm going to share these with you now. Can You Make Money With YouTube Shorts? The answer is yes and no. Yes, you can make money but what you earn from shorts is nowhere near as much as you do on your long-term videos. The reason is that YouTube only pays six lousy cents per 1 million views. How do I know that? That's what this YT creator told me in his short How Much YouTube paid for 1 million views. But that didn't sound right so I did some math and left him this comment. I think the maths is all wrong because 1 million x 6 cents is $60,000. So to earn $60 for a million views YT is only paying us 0.00006 cents which is pathetic However, that may have changed since that particular Short was published so I checked my shorts stats on Laughaholics. My shorts this year have been erratic so when working out the stats I did it for a year. In 2024 my shorts had 34.7K views earning me $3.12. That equates to 0.00009 cents! A bit more than the above Youtuber but still pathetic. If The Money Is Bad Why Bother With Shorts? To answer that I'm going to tell you why I do it. Subscribers: Since I started doing shorts I've grown my subscribers an extra 38 in the last year. Comparing that to the 58 subscribers from my normal video I think that's pretty good. Shorts, for me, are easy to produce and take a lot less effort. Shorts can be fun to make. Shorts appeal to a different audience which I would be missing out on if I wasn't producing them. As to whether or not it's Worth Doing Shorts On YouTube I feel that will all depend on the individual YouTuber. As far as I'm concerned the answer to whether it's Worth Doing Shorts On YouTube the answer is yes. Why YouTube Closed Captions Matter

How Important Are Closed Captions Are you wondering about how necessary captions are for your YouTube videos? Will captions bring you more views?   Interestingly enough, Digital Discovery Network did a study that showed that captioned videos bring in 7.32% more views. That alone should encourage most YouTubers to start adding captions. And there is more. Professional Captions Using VidCap One Of Many Apps Found On Setapp. What Is Metadata &How Crucial Is It? We all know how crucial metadata is to YouTube, including your title, descriptions, and tags! TechTarget says that "Metadata is data that describes other data, providing a structured reference that helps to sort and identify attributes of the information it describes." YouTube reads this data relating to your video, and it's all taken into account when running their algorithms. Captions are part of that metadata, and not having that can be detrimental to the views that you could be getting. How To Caption Your Videos There are several ways you can caption your videos. You could do it manually and then upload them, but that is so time-consuming, I tried it once and decided life was too short to waste my time when it could be used to do other more constructive tasks. You can let YouTube do it for you and I can tell you I've tried that too but YouTube does a pretty poor job of it. I reckon you'd be lucky if the captions YouTube provides you are more than 60-70% correct. Then you have to go into the captioning area and edit YouTube's captions. Not correcting YouTube's faulty captions means you're presenting the wrong metadata and giving the wrong information about what your video is about. More Important Than Metadata Something even more important than metadata is that 36 million people in America alone are deaf or have trouble hearing. Let alone the other countless millions that live around the world. Then some people don't have hearing problems and watch YouTube videos with captions because they don't want to bother the people around them. There are countless of times when I wish a video had captions because I couldn't understand what was said. In cases such as this, captions have proven to increase comprehension.  Best App For Captioning You Videos I'm writing this post is to let you know that I have found an app that makes captioning a cinch. That app is called VidCap and is part of the Setapp arsenal of hundreds of quality apps, all at the low subscription price of $9.99/month. You can read all about Setapp in my Is Setapp Worth The Money post or watch my video Is The Setapp Subscription any good? Watch my video Does Setapp's VidCap Captions Work to see VidCap in action. All in all, captioning is going to help your channel, making it more accessible to a lot more people. YouTube knows this, which is why they include it in their metadata. Personally, I'm going to go through all my videos, adding captions to those that I believe…
