Why People Dislike Your Videos On YouTube
Before I get into my opinion on why people dislike your videos on YouTube, I want to point out that if you’re thinking of becoming a YouTube creator, you had better develop thick skin because you’re going to get dislikes, no matter how good you believe your videos to be.
As a point of reference, I will use my latest upload, a ‘Shorts’ video of my granddaughter Capri.
In a 48 hour period the video has 2680 views and 31 people gave it the thumbs up. You’ll notice from the image below that 12 people also gave it the thumbs down. The question is why?
Why Did People Give My Video The Thumbs Down
I have no problem with people disliking my videos as I mentioned in my video, The Truth About YouTube Dislikes. But, this one has me wondering.
- Length: Some folk may complain about the length of a video but this one is a very short video, about 15 seconds, so folk can’t complain that I wasted heaps of their time.
- Quality: I’ve had folks complain about the quality of some of my videos, either audio or visual components. They were kind enough to leave a comment which allowed me to improve my future videos. They could well have given me a thumbs down, but that’s cool because they had the guts to leave a comment telling me why. It doesn’t apply to the above video because the quality is good.
- Clickbait: I have never used clickbait in my Titles or Thumbnails so that doesn’t count.
- Adult Content: Once again, it doesn’t apply to my video.
So, honestly I see no reason why they disliked my video but I have a theory as to why they did so.
Why People Give YouTube Videos The Thumbs Down
I reckon that there are people out there who have nothing better to do that to giving videos a thumbs down. Maybe it’s because they’re jealous because they’re too dumb to produce their own videos or even come up with a concept for one. Or if they do have their own videos their so damn crappy that they thumbs down other videos out of jealousy.
It’s possible they’re a vindictive lot who like to make other folk miserable. Just like those folk who create fake accounts so they can bully people online.
It’s obvious the majority are a gutless lot because they’re too scared to leave a comment.
