Wassup’s With The November’s Statistics

Ho, Ho, Ho….as we enter the festive month of December, it’s time to post November’s statistics. As I expected, it didn’t come anywhere near to October’s total of $193.22, but then I wasn’t at all surprised as it was unreasonable to think that Commission Junction would be able to pull out another magical sale from the magician’s hat.

Still, it wasn’t all that bad as Google was up nearly $9 which is roughly a 40% increase. Let’s have a look at the stats shall we.

  • Adsense: $33.18
  • Voxsant: $0.01
  • Clix Galore: $0.49
  • Chitika: $1.2
  • Infolinks: $3.56
  • Advertisers: $10
  • Commission Junction: $0.0
  • E-Junkie: $39.00
  • Jumbo Affiliates: $4.49
  • RegNow: $0.00
  • Paid Posts: $7.50
  • Commission Monster: $0.00
  • Amazon Associates: $0.00
  • CashBurners: $0.00

TOTAL : $95.87

As you can see, while there were some poor performers, or even non performers, others maintained or even improved on previous results. E-Junkie has been the most consistent performer, other than Adsense, and it can be attributed to all those people who see the sense in having a professional theme such as FlexSqueeze.

What was really surprising was that about half of my Adsense earnings was attributed to this blog. Surprising because Wassup Blog is normally a poor performer. Good to see that it’s finally starting to pull a bit of it’s weight.

  1. Some nice income, although I’m sure that you would want it to be way higher. Maybe December will be better.

    1. George I am happy just blogging and getting heaps of comments. I must admit thought, the money does put a smile on my face.

  2. A very nice monthly income for the month. Keep up the great work. Greg Ellison
.-= Greg Ellison´s last blog ..Blog Income Report for November 2009 =-.

    1. Thanks Greg, I’ll just keep doing what I always do, having a blogging good time and taking any little bit of income that comes my way.

  3. It is sad to not reach the same income level. However, it could have been worst. Keep focus on the traffic and the money will follow.
.-= Deneil Merritt´s last blog ..November 2009 Income Report =-.

    1. I’m not sad at all Deneil. I had a good month of blogging away, and anything that comes my way because of that fun is just gravy. Yummy gravy :tongue_rolleye_ee:

      1. I totally know what you mean Sire. When you enjoy what you do money comes second.

  4. Hey, I’d never even heard of E-Junkie! Thanks for posting your stats. Good to know that even you have some non-performers.

    1. E-Junkie is the affiliate that I use to promote FlexSqueeze. They have hundreds of other things I could be promoting, I just haven’t had the time to check them out.

  5. Steady as she goes my man. ;)

  6. Looking at your stats -and blog layout- wouldn’t it be better to concentrate just on your top income sources for the moment? Too many choices may lead to that none at all are made, just my 2 cents, SY

    1. Not really, as each source offers something that the other one doesn’t. I believe having a selection gives my readers more choice. Where one selection may not be favorable another might just hit the spot.

  7. Hmmm…you mentioned a few income streams I have never heard of until now. My Adsense earnings has dropped the last month or so. I have read that due to Google’s “caffeine update” that is to take effect after the new year, the SERPS have been shaken up. I suppose this is what has caused the reduction in my earning – my sites are flip-flopping all over the SERPs.

    1. Hey, what can I say Kathleen, shit happens, and all we can do is wait it out and hope it doesn’t stick to us. :jittery_tb:

Hopefully everything will settle down and your SERPs will start to go up again.

    2. The little bit I have looked into the Caffeine update it seems to be a non issue for me. Comparing caffeine to the current search I don’t see any significant changes as to where I come up.
.-= Ned Carey@Baltimore Investing´s last blog ..Quote of the Day =-.

      1. You no me Ned, I’m not one to stress over things Google does, so I’m not even going to bother looking into it. As far as I’m concerned, the only caffeine I’m worried about is the stuff in my coffee.

  8. These are good income stats Sire! I’m half way close to your Adsense cut for last month, hopefully it would improve and Google should stop sending-in 0.01 cent/click which pisses me off sometimes.

Chitika is working well from the last time I’ve checked. My jobs providing client however still has low returns maybe because it was all tough niche job placements. However, direct advertisers are able to catch up.

To tell you honestly, I’m pretty bad at affiliate earning streams so I doubt if e-junkie would even work for me.
.-= Mathdelane @Software Critics´s last blog ..Thesis Theme Christmas Tweaks =-.

    1. Mathdelane, I reckon the main reason that e-junkie works for me is because people can see for themselves how versatile FlexSqueeze truly is. It’s one of the reasons I change the theme to reflect different times of the year.

  9. First thing first and this is long due. Nice to see the Christmas feel on your blog. It appears that the FlexSqueeze theme has already been paid off for you many times over.

I have never tried eJunkie before and quite frankly I do not even know what it is. Anyway, I wish you all the best and hopefully you will get those “bling blings” pouring in during December.
.-= DiTesco´s last blog ..Google AdSense Webinar – Free Online Seminars =-.

    1. DiTesco, I knew the moment I first installed FlexSqueeze that it was a winner. This was even after paying out for Thesis, which I thought was a real let down.

e-Junkie is the mob I use to promote FlexSqueeze. They have a whole heap of other products, I just haven’t had the time to look them over yet.

  10. This month’s earnings is good, considering that a lot of us other bloggers don’t earn that much. But I’m pretty sure you earn a lot in combination with the earnings of your other websites.
.-= James Moralde´s last blog ..Photo Fun =-.

    1. James, these earnings are from all my sites combined. Unlike some others I’ve seen, I only post what I’ve actually made, no exaggerated figures at all.

I wouldn’t worry if your income isn’t where you want it to be. Just keep plugging away and in time you will see it grow.

  11. I have got to set up AdSense on my page. I have it on a few of my other blogs, but haven’t taken the time to put it on my main one. I know ‘tsk, tsk’ to me. :wallbash_tb: Still, inspiring stats.
.-= Anne@AnneOnLife´s last blog ..Super Quick Update =-.

    1. Oh come now Anne. You women are supposed to be the organized ones. You’re not going to let some Aussie bloke show you up now, are you? :tongue_wink_ee:

  12. After long time I am visiting your blog. Good to hear that you are making some decent money from blogging. It will be good if you share your traffic stats as well.
.-= Ricky ´s last blog ..Download UCWEB 7 Java Mobile Browser-English Version =-.

  13. I would wish for those stats than what I have right now. The only earning I have on my blog is the adsense and sad to say, it has a poor performance.

I still haven’t tried the other means of promoting my blog with ads or affiliate links, still learning the ropes. So, maybe in the near future I may be able to have an inspiring post like this one from my blog earnings, I hope.

.-= Mitch´s last blog ..Is Instant Messaging Dying Out? =-.

    1. I tell you what we really need Mitch is a whole lot more people visiting our blogs. The more hits we get the greater the chance of lifting our earning potential.

As for CJ, not much we can do there. I’m getting the hits but few conversions. Seems they don’t like the landing page or can’t make up their mind. Must be women I reckon. :tongue_wink_ee:

      1. Twitter:
I’m not sure whether it’s women clicking on stuff or not, but I know that the conversions part of it all isn’t quite working. I don’t even think I get that many visitors to the links.
.-= Mitch´s last blog ..Deciding When To Go To A Paid Model =-.

        1. Last month I generated 183 clicks on items affiliated with CJ. A 10% conversion rate should have netted me 18 sales. 1% should have produced 1 sale. Yet all those clicks didn’t even get one sale. Therefore I lay blame on the landing pages, and I am entirely blameless. :innocent1_tb:

          1. Twitter:
I had 269 clicks and no sales; freaky. I wonder if it’s that people don’t understand that we’re not really sending them to a landing page, but to a new website that stops them. What do you think of that possibility?
.-= Mitch´s last blog ..Rocky And Bullwinkle Turn 50 =-.

            1. I’m not sure. You would think that if they clicked on an ad that they would be interested in it, otherwise why bother?

      2. LOL … “can’t make up their mind. Must be women I reckon. :tongue_wink_ee:” … you always crack me up! LOL *hugs*

  15. It does looks like ejunction still get the big portion. Do you think that affiliate is the best method to earn money online? Compare to others i mean.
.-= kerja kosong´s last blog ..Darul Ehsan Medical Centre – DEMC Jobs Vacancies Shah Alam =-.

    1. There are a lot of ways to earn money online. Some work better than others. I’ve found that affiliates can work if you can pick the right product at the right time. The consistent earner has always been Adsense.

  16. I went back to compare the last three months. The difference seems to be the big swings in Commision Junction and Cash Burners. One or two big sales can make a big difference.

On the other hand your adsense is climbing steadily. I would think that Adsense would be the most consistent metric of performance. So I say well done.
.-= Ned Carey@Baltimore Investing´s last blog ..Quote of the Day =-.

    1. You are so right Ned, the big sales make all the difference. Reckon it’s the same in the Real Estate game?

      1. Oh you can say that again. Big swing in the wrong direction this year.
.-= Ned Carey@Baltimore Investing´s last blog ..Quote of the Day =-.

        1. Well at least this year is nearly over. Hopefully next year will make up for it. Best of luck Ned.

  17. Twitter:
Well, even you and I don’t end up buying everything we click on. Maybe it’s something we need to ask ourselves, eh?
.-= Mitch´s last blog ..How I Write Blog Posts =-.

    1. So true Mitch, which is why we need more traffic, as that would have to increase the conversion rate by some degree.

      1. Twitter:
You have way more traffic than I do, Sire. I think that’s going to be the next post, or a near future post of mine. Not sure what I’m going to say about it, but we’ll see.
.-= Mitch´s last blog ..What’s Up With Broken Link Checker? =-.

        1. And yet you produced more clicks? Maybe you should work that into the post?

            1. Nope, mine is spread over all my blogs as well.

  18. Twitter:
Then you’re right, I’ve got you on that one. Hey, let me know if you got a message saying I replied to your last comment on my blog, because I made one last change that I hope works well.
.-= Mitch´s last blog ..Rocky And Bullwinkle Turn 50 =-.

  20. I had AdSense when I first put up my blog … I only had it on the single post page and I was doing about a dollar a day. But I read somewhere to take it off after you have a regular following because they said you’d make more money from affiliate sales and the AdSense drives traffic off your blog. I make most of my blog income from hosting and other affiliate products (plugins) but I’ve always wondered if I should put the AdSense back on? Hmmm … I haven’t ever sold ads on my blog either but I get a fair number of requests so maybe it’s time? Thanks for posting … I too am very honest so I like to stick with other like-minded peeps and you’re one of them. *SmiLes* Suzanne
.-= Suzanne Franco´s last blog ..Link Love =-.

    1. Aw shucks Suzanne, I like you too :wub_tb:

As for the Adsense, unless their ads are competing with your affiliate it shouldn’t be a problem. The way I look at it, all told my affiliate ads generated over 500 clicks with nary a sale. I wish they had clicked Adsense instead. Maybe I should remove the affiliate ads :doh_tb: :ponder_tb:

      1. If the AdSense is working best maybe?! Are you able to tell which AdSense block people are clicking on? I’ve heard the best is in the content itself so I was wondering if that’s true or not. I’m thinking about adding AdSense to some (or all) of my niche stores since eBay is being so … difficult. LOL. Actually I logged in tonight to check my stats and eBay is doing better this month than the past several … *sigh* I pretty much give up trying to figure them out I swear. Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help … *huGs*
.-= Suzanne Franco´s last blog ..Link Love =-.

        1. Yes you can Suzanne. You just need to create channels and stuff. DiTesco has done a couple of posts on how this is done, this one being the latest

  21. Looks to me like you’re doing pretty good. :) You’re $95.87 richer than if you weren’t blogging.

  22. Hi Sire,

Would be interesting to compare these earnings compared to your traffic stats.

    What do you think?

    The InfoPreneur
    .-= TheInfoPreneur´s last blog ..Mid December 2009 Report =-.

    1. I’m not one that enjoys looking at stats as I find them rather boring. I did compare the earnings to stats once before, I suppose you could look at that if you were interested.

      1. Yeah I think it would be a good relatable table for your readers.

For example if your getting 3,000 hits a day your prob’ gonna make this amount of money from these different systems.

Just a thought, I know I would find it interesting
        .-= TheInfoPreneur´s last blog ..Mid December 2009 Report =-.

        1. OK, according to Google I got a little over 11000 page views, so thats under 400 a day. I hope that helps.

  23. At the beginning of Decemember I flipped from adsense to Amazon Affilates on one of my blogs and it worked well for me. I guess it’ll be back to poorly perfoming adsens next month though. Hope you had bumper December figures!!

    1. And I hope next month is just as good for you, if not better, as this months.

  24. Seeing someone post their earnings was a first for me. It’s great to see such transparency and honesty from someone. Thanks Sire, I’m learning a lot from reading your blog.
I’ve always wondered about the true earnings of the probably millions of bloggers that are supposed to be able to help you earn six figures from blogging. It seems more like ”help them get close to earning six figures’ by buying their ebook or program. Are THEY all earning six figures?
I pretty much pulled most of the Commission Junction adds from my site. It seems like every six months I have to reactive my account because it earns zero commission. Although one sale from Bowflex or BigFitness could net a nice commission.
.-= Aaron´s last blog ..Organic food coupons =-.

    1. Aaron, while I am sure that there are six figure bloggers out there, I am also sure there are a lot who also post BS figures in the hope of luring people into believing they know what they are talking about.

      Thanks for your comment.
