Indeed, a weekly round up is a good idea -- it helps the blogger share valuable posts which could be helpful to its readers. I'm gonna create one now. Thanks!

Monthly sounds good, and I'm glad I was able to offer some advice, and yes, John does a killer job with his Smashup. Which reminds me, if I go down this track I will need a great unique name for the round ups.

I have been wanting to start doing round ups, but my fear is that I would give up in the first week or two (like you said). I think maybe I'll start doing something monthly rather than weekly.

The drafting idea is a good one that I can adopt though. Extreme John does a really good weekly Smashup as well.

;)

I agree that less is more Josh, and in regards to your friends blog, rather than just placing a link I would tell your readers where that link will take them and why they might enjoy the trip, then it will be up to them whether they decide to visit or not.

I am telling this because, I have never seen any blogs doing daily roundups , i think what you have told is wright :)
Initially it would be interesting for users , but once they get to know about the blogs , which links i am posting , it will make them to divert to the respective blogs :(

Weekly round up posts are a good option as it will give your readers a chance to what you are doing whole week. Apart from that it helps to create a strong relationship with fellow bloggers. I was doing weekly roundup post on my technology blog.

Why not just limit it to 5 links tops each post? I think sometimes less is more. I see a lot of these link mashups and if there are too many from a wide variety of sources I mentally check out. My blog is about marketing, it would probably serve me well to shoot out 5 marketing related links once a week or so. If I start dropping links to gardening for the sake of "helping" a friend do I do it at the expense of alienating my audience?
