Will Google Penalise You For Using Zaparena

It’s been almost three months since using the Zaparena Traffic Network on my blogs and I am very happy with it. Having said that this post isn’t about telling you how great Zaparena is, rather it’s about dispelling some of the issues people seem to have with it, issues that have come to my attention via the comments.

I Don’t Want Near Naked Women On My Blog

This is an easy one because if you don’t like seeing beautiful near naked women on you blog you make sure you don’t select that option.

It’s Against Adsense TOS

This seems to be the main issue people have. Unfortunately I can’t give you an iron clad guarantee that Google won’t penalise your blog for running Zaparena because no-one ever know how Google will react to anything. Something that may be perfectly acceptable today could be totally unacceptable tomorrow. Still, after doing some extensive research I have yet to find one site using Zaparena who has lost their Adsense account.

Google AdSense

Most of the results turned up blog posts warning people against using sites such as Zaparena saying that Google did not like traffic exchange programs. Klaus from TechPatio echoed their concern siting the following Google Adsense article,, Can I use traffic exchange programs? which states the following.

While traffic exchange services may help bring traffic to your site, we don’t recommend using them, as they may lead to invalid clicks or impressions and result in your account being disabled.

As you may already know, our program policies strictly prohibit any means of artificially generating ad impressions or clicks, including third-party services such as paid-to-click, paid-to-surf, auto-surf, and click-exchange programs. These programs offer incentives for users to view webpages or click on ads, resulting in activity that is harmful to our advertisers.

We also advise against using third-party tools or services to increase your site traffic, as they may also result in similar invalid activity and your account being disabled. We realize that you may have questions about a specific service and whether it could potentially create invalid impressions or clicks. However, please understand that we’re unable to comment on any particular third-party service.

Let’s look at the part highlighted in red. I can safely say there’s no way that Zaparena generates clicks, artificially or otherwise. Ad impressions, well that’s something else, but if they are going to penalise you for that then what’s stopping them from including things like Stumble, Digg, Twitter and the myriads of other forms of traffic generation.

Now, let’s consider the section highlighted in orange. They advise against using third party tools that increase traffic because it may result in similar invalid activity and your account being disabled. Again, Zaparena does not result in people clicking on your adsense ads, no more so than any other method you’re currently using to generate traffic to your blog.

It seems that the only way we would know for sure as to whether it is against their TOS is by asking Google but they kindly advise us against that because they can’t comment on any third party  service. Typical of them isn’t it?

I would also like to point out that Zaparena isn’t your typical traffic exchange program which requires that you surf their sites in order that they do the same for you. There is no such requirement for Zaparena, in fact there is no incentive at all for people to click on a Zaparena ad.

As I said at the beginning I am more than happy with the performance of the Zaparena Traffic Network. I would love to say I was certain that Google doesn’t have a problem with them but like I said at the beginning no-one can know how Google feels about anything. Ask anyone who’s been penalised and is still scratching their head as to why.

If anyone knows of someone who have been penalised because they were using Zaparena I would love to know about it.

Interview With Maddy Cuttsworth Over PR Update

How fortunate was I to have run into Maddy Cuttsworth, one of Google’s big boys, and to have him agree to an interview. How lucky are you, my loyal readers, to have access to this exclusive interview with one of the most famous faces behind the huge Google machine.

Naturally, once I got him on his own I wanted to grill him, to learn as much as I could about what Google sees as important as far as PR updates are concerned.

Exclusive Interview With Maddy Cuttsworth

Sire:  First let me welcome you to WassupBlog, I’m sure my readers are waiting with baited breath to learn all that they can from you Maddy.  Before we start, how’s the cappuccino? Does the fact it’s laced with truth serum affecting the taste at all?

Maddy: Truth serum?

Sire:  Never mind that Maddy, let’s get on with the interview shall we? I’m sure my readers would like to know what Google considers important when handing out it’s PR. Take dofollow vs nofollow, for example, is it true that Google would penalize dofollow blogs.

Maddy: Nope, sure Google would like people to believe that Google would frown on dofollow blogs as it upsets the figures collected by our bots, but it’s all too hard to monitor so we don’t bother with it. It’s enough that we spread the rumors that it could harm their ranking and then we let bloggers willing to spread the rumor run with it.

Sire: So, are you saying that when I posted The Myth That Dofollow Leaches Your PR,  I the nail right on the head?

Maddy: (frowning) Yeah, we weren’t at all happy when we saw that.

Sire:  OK. Most people would agree that a blog’s PR should reflect the quality of the content as well as the popularity of the blog itself. Would you agree with that?

Maddy: Yes, of course.

Sire: Well then, can you tell me why my What A Load Of Bullshit blog has never gone above PR0, especially considering it is both popular and has good content?

Maddy: It’s because of the name of the blog. Google does not like profanity.

Sire: So you’re saying it’s because Google does not like the word bullshit. Don’t you realize that bullshit is NOT a dirty word? So you’re trying to tell me if the site was called What A Load Of Cow Manure, it would have a better PR even though the former name would be more accurate?

Maddy: Well yes.

Sire: Seems to me that Google is a bit up itself, but let’s move on shall we? I and a lot of others have noticed that the A Listers of the world tend to have a higher PR even though their blog posts are no better than many of the other bloggers out there. Why is that?

Maddy: I think I can safely say it’s because they do all the right things to make Google happy.

Sire: Oh, so it’s not all about content, it’s just that they are so far up Google’s ass that Google rewards them. Seems a little biased wouldn’t you say?

Maddy: Well yes, but how else can we get people to conform to what we want?

Sire: So Google is more into conformity than it is about quality? Now, let’s tackle those bloggers who have been Google Slapped because they decided to do paid tasks or accept paid links on their blogs. Why is that?

Maddy: Well, it upsets our statistics so we let it be known that we don’t like it.

Sire: So it has nothing to do with the fact that it also affects your bottom line?

Maddy: Yes, that too.

Sire: So once again PR is more than just ranking a site on quality it’s also about making sure they once again conform to Google’s rules.

Maddy: Why am I all tied up, and who the hell are you?

Sire: Oops, looks like you’re all out of cappuccino there Maddy. Reckon that concludes our little interview. Thanks so much for being part of Wassup for today.

The Honest Truth About ACME People Search Engine

I want to be different from those people who join an affiliate and then promote the heck out of it, even if they haven’t tried it, just so that they can make a few extra bucks. I definitely wouldn’t promote a product that I didn’t believe in.  I specially would not want to promote a product as being a real money spinner if I didn’t find it to be so.

Seeing as how it’s been a month now since my post called How The People Search Craze Could Put Money In Your Pocket,  I thought it fitting to do an update on how things are progressing. First things first though, I reckon I should tell people my findings of some of the promises that were made.

  • FREE Advertising of Your Search Engine for 24 Hours After You Complete Three Easy Steps

I will take Tissa’s word for this, but what I can say is that 24 hours of advertising netted me one hit, and no sale, which is not surprising as most people would tell you that only a small percentage of people clicking a link actually purchase a product. I wouldn’t join AcmePeopleSearch just because of that promise, there has to be more substance to a program than simple promising 24 hours of free advertising.

  • A Guaranteed Bonus of $125.00 AFTER You Earn $75 (Your Incentive to LEARN how to Earn)

That promise is 100% true, as can be seen from the image posted in my Quick Update On People Search Money Opportunity post. You will notice the $125 sitting there waiting for me to earn the other $75 so that I can collect the lot. Nothing wrong with dangling a bit of a carrot as far as I can see.

Also true as I’ve always got quick and helpful replies when posting in the forum, although I haven’t tried contacting Tissa directly.

  • Free 30 day when completing step 3!

That one is true too as completing that step simply subscribes via PayPal but doesn’t actually become active until 30 days after joining, thereby ensuring you thirty days of free access. I opted out of the subscription just before it was due as I thought I would wait until the system makes enough money to pay it’s own way. Read the post Quick Update On People Search Money Opportunity to see the benefits of completing step 3.

So, now for the crunch, how much did I make in the first month? Not a bloody dime, but then I didn’t expect it to come rolling in after only a month. I can see it’s going to take some time and so I will continue to explore ways of marketing it. Things like my Squidoo Lens, my Squeeze or Landing page, Traffic Exchanges and any other avenues for promoting it that I come across.

Googles Latest PR Update In Time For Halloween

Yep, Halloween is just around the corner, and Google has chosen this hallowed time to play around with everybody’s PR. Some would have gone up, some down, and those that Google considers unsavory have probably had it stripped from them.

Personally, this blog has done fairly well as it went from PR3 to PR4. Not bad considering that I haven’t really been trying to improve on my ranking at all.

Being the last days of Halloween and all, and seeing how this post’s been mainly about Google, I put a little poem together to commemorate the occasion.

Googlebots, the terror of the Net
Striking fear into Webmasters and yet
Webmasters and bloggers, all of like mind
In using keywords for Googlebot to find

Keywords, the spider food these poor sods use
Hoping the Spiderbots will follow and not abuse
With luck they hope to obtain position number one
For anything else would certainly be no fun

They will try anything to obtain a Page Rank
From spamming bloggers and going to the bank
To pay for links on high ranking sites
But if Google found out, it would simply bite

For the venom of the Google Bomb is well known
Because if you piss Google off your PR is blown
So, how does Google know if you’ve been bad or good?
It’s those bloody Googlebots spidering the web for food

[eminimall]

Those damn Googlebots, they have no heart or soul
They don’t give a shit if your blog falls down a hole
Do what you can to better your position
Especially if improving your PR is your ambition

Personally I don’t give a crap
I’m not falling for that trap
I’m more for enjoying my blogging
And that’s best without a Google flogging

So, I hope you enjoyed that, and perhaps you could leave a comment as to how Google has ranked your blog with this last update.

Do Your Shopping With Ease With ShopWiki

This post has been brought to you by your friends at Shopwiki.com

In my last post I mentioned how blogging shouldn’t just be about the money, because if you focus just on the money side of it, there is every chance that it will compromise the quality of your blog. The honest truth is that most people take up blogging because they want to earn some extra cash and whilst the majority of them continue because they develop a passion for it, the rest find it all too hard and lose interest.

The thing is that we all need money to live, and when possible, to by the niceties in life. More and more people are discovering that you can buy quality products on the net and at the same time save you money. The trouble is that a lot of people find it difficult to source the right products and this is where shopwiki.com comes into play.

Imagine that your child’s birthday is coming up and you haven’t the time to physically go shopping, but the thought of searching the Net for some decent Toys and Games is also a little daunting. Shopwiki.com is specially designed to help consumers find specific consumer products on the Internet with ease. Where Google targets every single thing on the net that has even a slight similarity to your search query, including those distasteful porno sites, the wiki only target products relative to your search that are available on the Net.

You may be interested in educational toys that stimulate the mind or perhaps something that promotes a more active approach to fun such as a SpongeBob SquarePants Water Slide. No matter what you are looking for, this particular wiki plans to make your search simpler and more productive. Their consumer written wiki will help you to not only find the product, it will also show you where you can buy it. Rather than wait until the last minute to try it out, why not hop on over, give it a whirl and let me know what you think.
