Archive for 'PayPal'

In my last post, The Secret To Online Success Is Passive Income, I told you all about how the secret to making money online is to pick those products that offered you a good source of passive income. I also told you, because of my past success in promoting lotteries, how I intended to boost my income by starting yet another blog, this one being a niche blog that is all about offering people ways of buying lottery tickets online. While I purchased several domains for this purpose I decided on Buy Online Lotto Tickets as the one best suited for the purpose.

Once I decided on the domain I needed to work out who was going to host my latest blog. At first I thought I would use BlueHost and I was part way through signing up a new account when I noticed they didn’t accept PayPal and I really wanted to start using up some of my PayPal funds. I could have used the add on domains feature which would have been free but I really wanted it to have it’s own IP address so the traffic wouldn’t slow down my other blogs.

I then checked out HostGator who I use for three of my blogs, and yes they did accept PayPal. As I had no intention at using add on domains I went for their $3.96/month plan, although I did have to sign on for three years to get that great price I was fine with that because this blog was going to supply money for me well into my old age. :smile2_ee: Once the account was open I set up my latest WordPress using their auto feature, so much easier than doing it all yourself. It even came with a plugin that I’ve never seen before but is loaded with cool features. More on that in another post. :smile1_ee:

To cut a long story short, in a matter of a few days my latest blog is now live. My first post lists The Top 5 Reasons For Buying Your Lottery Tickets Online. It’s even got it’s first comment, although once I’ve finished this I’m going to delete it because the commentator did not adhere to the blog’s comment policy. Even though the blog only went live two days ago I’ve already been asked by major lottery site to become an affiliate for them. I’m talking about MyLotto.com and as an affiliate I can now promote lotteries from all over the load. As an affiliate you would also be able to tap into this lucrative market.

Click Now!

As an affiliate I was able to use their links on my theLotter.com page. Although I’ve used this page to highlight the benefits of joining with a spattering of links to all the most opportune landing pages I plan on refining it even more adding even more value to it.

I’m so glad that I bought the FlexSqueeze theme because it’s made setting up the new blog, giving it a real professional feel about it, so easy. I have no plans for using Adsense, Infolinks or any other revenue earning network as I don’t want to distract the attention of my visitors from the sites main purpose, that of providing them with the means of purchasing lottery tickets online.

How To Make Money Off A Popular Post

As you well know I love to share money making ideas on this blog. Unfortunately coming across good ones is pretty rare and so I post a lot of other interesting and entertaining articles to keep all you guys interested so that you keep coming back for more. Unfortunately there may be some, because of their busy lives, who miss out on important articles every now and again and if you don’t want that happening to you I recommend you subscribe to my list. You’ll find a link and a subscription form over in my sidebar to your right.

This post may not be for all bloggers as there may be some who have no interest is using their blog for making money. However, for those of you who love blogging and who don’t have a problem in using your blog for increasing your earning potential, then I urge you to read on.

What I’m going to present to you in this post is something way beyond adsense. It doesn’t even have anything to do with affiliate marketing. All you need is either a blog or a website that has information on it that is so useful that people will pay you to get access to it. You’ve probably seen that plugin which displays something like, “If you like this post why don’t you buy me a beer?”, only no-one ever buys you one.

Money

Enter MediaPass! Have you ever wondered why hundreds of websites like ESPN, NY Times, The Economist and The Star Tribune are beginning to charge for select content ? It’s because their paid subscription pages far out-yield their free pages. MediaPass allows you to have recurring paid subscriptions and do so with the same level of sophistication as the major players who are spending millions to build a subscription platform in-house, only it won’t cost you a cent to join.

I’m trying it on this one particular post that explains to people how to fix their iTouch when Safari won’t connect to the Internet. It’s called My iPod Touch Safari Won’t Work. You can see from the amount of comments on this post that the instructions work and everyone is happy to leave a comment telling me so. A few even actually bought me a beer. Why not charge them a small fee to gain access to the post that will solve their problem?

I’ve only just installed the code on that post the other day and I’ve made my first sale. I’ve only charged $5 for the information and out of that I received $3.25, so they’ve taken 35% commission for handling the transaction. That’s fine with me because without them I would never have made the sale in the first place. Add to the mix that they accept most credit cards and PayPal and you should see the potential for earning extra income.

Just remember a couple of  very important points for this to work.

  1. The post you place it on must offer content that people will be willing to pay for! If you consider my example  I am offering a solution for a problem that has been proven to work.
  2. The post you choose must get a fair amount of visitors. I’ve known for a long time that post does very well in the SERPS but until recently I couldn’t work out how to cash in on it. I did think of writing an ebook, but honestly there just isn’t enough information on that post to warrant that.

If you can fulfill those couple of points you should be able to put a few extra bucks into your pocket as well.

If you don’t want to miss out on other thought provoking articles then you really should subscribe to my List.

The Honest Truth About ACME People Search Engine

I want to be different from those people who join an affiliate and then promote the heck out of it, even if they haven’t tried it, just so that they can make a few extra bucks. I definitely wouldn’t promote a product that I didn’t believe in.  I specially would not want to promote a product as being a real money spinner if I didn’t find it to be so.

Seeing as how it’s been a month now since my post called How The People Search Craze Could Put Money In Your Pocket,  I thought it fitting to do an update on how things are progressing. First things first though, I reckon I should tell people my findings of some of the promises that were made.

  • FREE Advertising of Your Search Engine for 24 Hours After You Complete Three Easy Steps

I will take Tissa’s word for this, but what I can say is that 24 hours of advertising netted me one hit, and no sale, which is not surprising as most people would tell you that only a small percentage of people clicking a link actually purchase a product. I wouldn’t join AcmePeopleSearch just because of that promise, there has to be more substance to a program than simple promising 24 hours of free advertising.

  • A Guaranteed Bonus of $125.00 AFTER You Earn $75 (Your Incentive to LEARN how to Earn)

That promise is 100% true, as can be seen from the image posted in my Quick Update On People Search Money Opportunity post. You will notice the $125 sitting there waiting for me to earn the other $75 so that I can collect the lot. Nothing wrong with dangling a bit of a carrot as far as I can see.

Also true as I’ve always got quick and helpful replies when posting in the forum, although I haven’t tried contacting Tissa directly.

  • Free 30 day when completing step 3!

That one is true too as completing that step simply subscribes via PayPal but doesn’t actually become active until 30 days after joining, thereby ensuring you thirty days of free access. I opted out of the subscription just before it was due as I thought I would wait until the system makes enough money to pay it’s own way. Read the post Quick Update On People Search Money Opportunity to see the benefits of completing step 3.

So, now for the crunch, how much did I make in the first month? Not a bloody dime, but then I didn’t expect it to come rolling in after only a month. I can see it’s going to take some time and so I will continue to explore ways of marketing it. Things like my Squidoo Lens, my Squeeze or Landing page, Traffic Exchanges and any other avenues for promoting it that I come across.
