In my last post, The Secret To Online Success Is Passive Income, I told you all about how the secret to making money online is to pick those products that offered you a good source of passive income. I also told you, because of my past success in promoting lotteries, how I intended to boost my income by starting yet another blog, this one being a niche blog that is all about offering people ways of buying lottery tickets online. While I purchased several domains for this purpose I decided on Buy Online Lotto Tickets as the one best suited for the purpose.

Once I decided on the domain I needed to work out who was going to host my latest blog. At first I thought I would use BlueHost and I was part way through signing up a new account when I noticed they didn’t accept PayPal and I really wanted to start using up some of my PayPal funds. I could have used the add on domains feature which would have been free but I really wanted it to have it’s own IP address so the traffic wouldn’t slow down my other blogs.

I then checked out HostGator who I use for three of my blogs, and yes they did accept PayPal. As I had no intention at using add on domains I went for their $3.96/month plan, although I did have to sign on for three years to get that great price I was fine with that because this blog was going to supply money for me well into my old age. :smile2_ee: Once the account was open I set up my latest WordPress using their auto feature, so much easier than doing it all yourself. It even came with a plugin that I’ve never seen before but is loaded with cool features. More on that in another post. :smile1_ee:

To cut a long story short, in a matter of a few days my latest blog is now live. My first post lists The Top 5 Reasons For Buying Your Lottery Tickets Online. It’s even got it’s first comment, although once I’ve finished this I’m going to delete it because the commentator did not adhere to the blog’s comment policy. Even though the blog only went live two days ago I’ve already been asked by major lottery site to become an affiliate for them. I’m talking about MyLotto.com and as an affiliate I can now promote lotteries from all over the load. As an affiliate you would also be able to tap into this lucrative market.

Click Now!

As an affiliate I was able to use their links on my theLotter.com page. Although I’ve used this page to highlight the benefits of joining with a spattering of links to all the most opportune landing pages I plan on refining it even more adding even more value to it.

I’m so glad that I bought the FlexSqueeze theme because it’s made setting up the new blog, giving it a real professional feel about it, so easy. I have no plans for using Adsense, Infolinks or any other revenue earning network as I don’t want to distract the attention of my visitors from the sites main purpose, that of providing them with the means of purchasing lottery tickets online.

Of Good Hosts And Bad Hosts, Beware The Bad Hosts

Over a year ago I wrote a post about how I moved this blog from one host to another. That post was called WassupBlog Alive And Kicking After Transferring to BlueHost. If you’re looking for a good host you can’t go past BlueHost and their CPU Throttling would have to be one of their best features.

Over a year later it’s happened to that host again. The first time it happened I thought it wasn’t really the host’s fault, it was just that Wassup had outgrown it, especially as I had three other blogs hosted under the one domain. Let that be a warning to people, although many hosting packages give you unlimited domains you have to remember the more domains you have on the same host the more strain you’re putting on your CPU and the more likely you’ll get your account suspended. Once I moved WassupBlog I left behind three other blogs, my Scenic Adelaide, Photos2Blog and my Load Of Bullshit blog.

Web Hosting Servers

I left those blogs there because it was an Aussie host and I wanted to support an Australian company. It turns out that was a big mistake. I woke up one morning to find that my account was suspended yet again. The turkeys at HostSmart, yeah I’m naming them as others should know what to expect from this host, didn’t take the time to find out which blog was causing the problem and suspending that blog, nope, they suspended the whole account. I couldn’t even access my CPanel or use my FTP program to access my blogs to check things out. Shit, I couldn’t even receive emails linked to those accounts.

No damn support. No phone numbers listed on the site. I finally found a phone number but do you think anyone would answer it? I left a support ticket and when I got a reply some 24 hours later it was to say that my account was suspended due to it was overloading the server and it wouldn’t be restored until I confirmed I would do something about it.

There was so many things that could have been done that they failed to do and in the end they’ve lost me as a customer. Not only that but I will no longer be sending people to them, an average of some 200 – 300 per month! What a waste that proved to be, they couldn’t even convert one of them. Perhaps those people were just smarter than I was.

Once I got access I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. While I was waiting to get access I searched the web for another host as I didn’t want to put all my eggs in one basket by using the same host. I settled on HostGator as they seemed to have a great reputation. Once access was restored I started moving everything over and it all went through without a hitch. As it turns out HostGator has a 24hr Live Chat which I used a few times, both before and during the transfer, so that I could clear up a few things. Every time I used it they were quick to respond and they were able to answer all my queries. Now that is what I call service, something my previous host knew nothing about.

Here are some tips for those looking for good Web Host.

  • Ask other bloggers who they use and what they think of them.
  • Check the forums, most good hosts have them, to see what the reaction from members are. Do they resolve problems quickly?
  • Check to see that they a phone number so that you can contact them quickly in an emergency. Leaving a support ticket is OK but can be time consuming.
  • Do they have Live Chat available? I’ve found this to be an indispensable feature and both BlueHost and HostGator have it.

If there are any other important features that you require or recommend when choosing a host I’m sure others would like to read about it in the comment section.

Mitch, if you’re reading this post, yes you did warn me about staying with them, and yes as it turns out I should have listened to you. Again. Let that be a lesson to me huh?

Quick Update On People Search Money Opportunity

OK, I didn’t expect to be writing an update on my People Search money making opportunity so soon but I find it necessary because there appears to be some confusion.

What triggered it off was this comment left by Holly, who happens to be a very talented writer, and if you haven’t been over to her It’s All A Matter Of Perspective blog yet you should head on over there first chance you get. Her post Dog’s Cats And Slippery Cats‘ is a real killer .

Anyway Holly left this comment.

Okay, I quit after the first confirmation. Now I have to create a free account at something called “Reunion.com”? And another confirmation? That raises all kinds of red flags for me – that’s where I quit.

When you decide to join the AcmePeopleSearch team you will be taken to a page that has the following three boxes on the top of the page. You can click on the image for a full size shot.

You will notice that there are three steps and that all three are ticked. This shows that I have completed all three of them and I therefore have access to the majority of the income streams. When you first see this page it will be devoid of ticks. As stated in their forum;

1.  Step 1 – Build Your Search Engine. This first step is absolutely free and is FREE FOREVER for you to earn commissions. This is where you would affiliatize your APS Engine with the first five (5) of the income streams, namely Clickbank, HDP, MyLife, CJ, Adsense. You must signup as an affiliate of these programs (Note that MyLife is not accepting new affiliate signups). You must enter your affiliate IDs from those programs during the course of your Step 1 completion.

Upon completion of Step 1 and beginning at step 1, the people search engine that you built  would have a Display Rate of 100%. This means that you will earn 100% of affiliate commissions from the first 5 income streams. As people search niche engine is huge getting 30% of all the searches done in the internet, you will be able to make a very good income by promoting your newly created Acme People Search (APS) Engine. However, the limitation is that you wouldn’t be able to promote it via Pay Per Click advertising until you brand or host it with your own web hosting (Step 2).

Now you will notice that the free version gives you access to five affiliate streams, Clickbank, HDP, MyLife, CJ and Adsense. Unless you join these affiliates you miss out on those income streams. The one that scared Holly off was MyLife, another aspect of people search and seeing as how people coming to your search engine can be considered targeted traffic, is more likely to convert earning you money.

When you get to step 2, that’s when it starts costing money, remember step 1 is free, and that $10 per month is simply the hosting fee needed to host your site. They use Global Domains which I find to be really cool and they have their own affiliate program. I completed step 2 because, just as it’s best to host your own WordPress blog, I know there would be many advantages to hosting your own people search engine.

Why did I complete step 3? Because I wanted to see the full potential and because they offered a 30 day free trial. The forum describes this step thus.

3. Step 3 – Unlock Residual Income. To make the most out of your APS business, you should unlock GDI, Hostgator, GVO and Referral Income Streams by subscribing either by Paypal or Trialpay. First 30 days is absolutely a free trial. When these income streams are unlock, you’ll be able to promote your APS business to your prospects or potential market. Note however that you should also be an affiliate of these programs and to enter your affiliate IDs in your back office (Add/Edit) in order to make money or residual income from them. When you have brought-in step-3 referrals to your APS business and they have clicked on GDI, Hostgator, GVO income streams’ link (where your affiliate links are integrated) and they have subscribed, you make money. When they have done the same and so by their referrals, you make more money, especially GDI and GVO which let you earn residual income with their tier or multi-level program. But Hostgator offers an awesome one-time huge commission potentially from your step 2 referrals only when they subscribed HG hosting.

If you’re interested you can read the full Beginners Guide at the actual forum.

The following image just shows my earnings so far. As you can see there are none from referrals but there is $125 sitting there and that was the money deposited by Tissa but which I won’t have access to until I get another $75, and he’s virtually promised me that within the month, and he’s even helping me along my adverting my engine on Google.

Honestly, so far I am impressed. It is early days yet and I will keep you updated. You may find this video interesting where he’s willing to prove to you that his system works. You may even find this link of interest, but I think I will leave it there for now as I don’t want to overload you with information.
