I am going to show you the tools that I use, tools that actually improve your chances of making money online. Simply scroll through to learn which tools can help increase your online income!

Choose A Professional Theme

When blogging for money the most important item on your list should be a professional theme because like it or not they're going to judge you on how your blog looks. If you're like me you will want a theme that not only looks good it has to be easy to use as well.

I use the FlexSqueeze theme because I found it can do all the things I wanted it to do. This post gives you a sample of what FlexSqueeze is capable of.

Making Money With Amazon

The reason many people join Amazon as an affiliate is because of the range of products they have available for sale. My tool of choice as an Amazon affiliate would have to be WPZon Builder!

The post Why I Love WP Zon Builder gives you a sample of what this exceptional plugin is capable of. In short the main positives would have to be the ease of use and the ability to import the customer reviews into your post.

Choosing The Right Affiliate

Most people who make money online have hit on the right affiliate to promote. This particular Post will direct you to other posts that highlight some of the ways that I have made money online!

They also say the secret to making money online is choosing the right niche. One of the niches I've chosen to add to my online income has to do with the growing Online Lottery industry.

Skysa Could be The Coolest Add On For Any Blog

I know how observant all of you are and so I reckon you’ve all noticed that cool looking bar at the bottom of my blog and have probably been wondering what it was all about. Well I’m here to put your mind at ease by telling you a little about my latest addition to WassupBlog, my Skysa App Bar!

The first thing you should know is that it’s free. The next thing is that it’s really easy to install, just one line of code, and from what I can see it doesn’t seem to slow the page load at all, and that is very important.

Once installed on your blog you can change the settings from the main website, adding Apps as you see fit, and any changes you make will automatically show on your Skysa Bar.  I’ve gone for the chat room, sorry members only; a simple text ticker; a bar that will translate the blog into other languages, although this tends to take awhile; a comment app that funny enough allows people to leave comments; an announcement app that allows you to make announcements to your readers; my twitter link and a few apps that allow users to share content using popular social sites such as Twitter, Digg and the like. These are only a few of the many apps available and apparently there are a lot more to come.

Once you’ve installed the app I would suggest you promote it because as an affiliate you get paid a dollar for every person who installs it, and 25 cents for everyone that signs up under them. Now that’s not a bad deal at all, and it all get’s paid into your PayPal account.

As I’m writing this I’ve noticed the language app doesn’t seem to be doing anything so I left a post on their forum and I reckon it will be interesting to see how long before they come to my aid.

Language app aside I am pretty impressed with it and I must thank John of PotPolitics fame for bringing it to my attention.

Why I Am Not Such A Social Person

As a blogger I tend to spend more time commenting on other peoples blogs than I do writing posts on my own blogs. Knowing this to be the case I was quite surprised when I received the following comment from Brian of BlogEngage fame;

You’ve only voted for 23 articles that weren’t yours! If you write an article please include in it why your not so social. I really expected more from you sire but nothing came from it. Every time I see you you’re always saying I’ll get involved soon etc… but here we are the same place we left off.

Karma Score of 6.00 is really poor for a being a members so long.

You can see his comment and my reply on Doug’s How To Get More Comments post. Of course Brian’s comment is 100% accurate, except perhaps that statement about saying I’ll always get involved soon but never do, as I’m pretty sure I’ve only said that once in relation to BlogEngage, but then I could be wrong.

The truth is that in real life I don’t actually like socializing but I do put myself out there, more for my family than anything else. The same can also be said about my Internet life. I am a member of Facebook, Digg, StumbleUpon, Friendfeed, Twitter and some others, I think you get the drift. Even though I am a member of those sites I am not overly active in any of them, even though I keep reading that they are all essential in blog promotion.

The one place where I do love to mix is as a commentator on other blogs. Commenting is possibly the one avenue where I feel comfortable when socializing, and I don’t see myself changing that anytime soon.

So, why am I such an anti-social person? I don’t really know, I’ve always been this way and I don’t care enough to blow a wad of money on a shrink to have him, or her, give me their educated guess as to the fact.

So, Brian, if I have a karma of 6 on BlogEngage consider yourself lucky my friend because that is more likely than not higher than any other site including my real life.

MarketingThere are a lot of ways that you can market a commodity in the real world, a lot of them are free, just like this ad I found on a traffic light in the middle of Sydney. Quite ingenious really as it captures an audience who are forced to wait for the lights to change, and it also happens to be free.

There are other ways to use such cost effective marketing such as placing ads on public notice boards. I’ve sold quite a few items using this method. When it comes to marketing a product online it is a whole different story. While there are sites that allow you to promote your blog for free, such as Cool Blog Links, not many are rated as number one on Google.

So, if you’re like me, a poor blogger who wants to market his blog on the Internet and hasn’t the funds to start a marketing campaign, your probably wondering what other avenues you may have. After a bit of thought I realized there is one particular marketing avenue that works just as well on the Internet as it does in the real world. Word Of Mouth! As long as you consistently produce quality content you will have more chance that others will spread the word.

‘Word of mouth’ on the Internet can be helped by making it easy for your readers to submit your post to such sites as Digg, Stumble, Delicious or by using the Twittley button that Re-Tweets your post. One thing to remember is that you are your blog’s most important asset and your content is the tool by which you build your credentials on the Internet.

We still have the problem of how to market your blog, and the easiest most cost effective way is to use that talent of yours by leaving the best comments imaginable on other peoples blogs. Apart from leaving a link to your blog, and post if the blog uses commentluv, a good well structured comment is more likely to lure people to your blog, as they follow the scent of intelligence left by the bait you left behind.
