SezWho Promotes Interaction On Your Blog
Image via Wikipedia Let’s face it, most bloggers thrive for interaction. The main reason for each and every post is to get some form of reaction from our reader that will hopefully result in a comment. We live for our comments and every comment results in a new high. It can become addictive so that each post strives to beat the previous one. There are a lot of things that we do individually to invite comments.
- We promise to reciprocate all comments.
- We install plugins like ‘dofollow‘ and ‘commentluv‘
- We comment on other blogs in the hope that they will reciprocate. Not many do though.
The list goes on, but the truth remains that without comments blogs fall short of becoming a true social media. That is where the plugin SezWho comes in as it is designed to improve community engagement to blogs. It does this by showing universal web-wide profiles for the participants and by enabling the community to rate both comments and posts.
You will notice that my avatar appears above each post and alongside each comment, and the size of the avatar is configurable from the SezWho site. I am hoping that this post will encourage you to join SezWho, which is completely free as I would love to see an image of the person I am talking to. The more members we have the more interactivity that will occur between blogs and the more ’social’ we become.
As Time Waits For No Man, the time to act is now, don’t think about it, just do it.
The FlexSqueeze Theme gives my blog that professional look. I loved it so much that I bought the developers license. It's the easiest most customizable theme I've come across. See how easy it is to change your theme's appearance! Compare it to Thesis to see how much better it is! I am so thrilled with this theme that I highly recommend you to get your FlexSqueeze theme today!

Just asking, but do you add multiple email addresses for the multiple blogs, or just do it once and use it for all of them?
Mitchs last blog post..The Big Blogging Names Aren’t Dofollow
I just have the one email address. I just checked my accounts and I found out I need to add another couple of blogs. Thanks for making me check. You will notice that there is absolutely nothing in it if anyone joins by clicking on that link other than growing the interaction capability of all bloggers involved.
Hey Sire..
I completely agree with your post. Comments can add so much depth to a blog.. But in my opinion using a random avatar is just as basic as no avatar. Providing a picture of your self to your readers helps build trust in my eyes.
Brians last blog post..Are You Building Enough Back Links?
Hey Brian, that is probably true, but those who know and follow me do so by the name Sire and the graphic of the muscular bloke that I use as my avatar. Those bloggers who converse with me through emails use my real name and as for my picture, I have posted it on several community blogs. Changing now would be like changing brands midstream.
As far as trust goes, all affiliates that I promote are free. If I find out that something I did promote turned out to be a flop then I do a post about it. Still I understand what you are saying and I thank you for your comment.
You are right Sire.. Changing it now would be like changing a company name after everyone knows you by that name.
It would be like if PEPSI changed to Cool Cola for an example.

And yet, thanks to you, I have changed it.
Hi Sire,
Yes I agree with you. It’s such a wonderful feeling to receive good comments (not spam ones though) for your posts. It’s a vote for your good work on your post, which you must have spend so much effort in it. As for sezwho I read about it recently and really like it. The only thing holding me back seems to be this. I have gravatar installed on my blog (put codes in php) and every comment on my (and other blogs too)will have this gravatar on them. I heard that once I installed sezwho, I will get the (double) images on my comments and it will become messy. I have not seen how that looks like though. Any thoughts on this.
Peter
Peter, I like you had gravatar as well and for a time I had both images displayed on the comments, a small SezWho image on the left (you can adjust the size and placement) and a normal avatar on the right. Then I decided SezWho was more important so I got rid of the gravatar.
Commenting is so important in the blogging world. We can think we’ve written a great post, but it isn’t really validated until we get comments/stumbles/diggs/etc. It is a great way to get insight from readers, and I have even noticed, as a commentator, that I gain some insight into my own responses to topics.
I would definitely have to agree with you on that. If I feel as though I have posted something of excellence and receive no comments related to it.. it makes me feel as though I wasted my time. Then again its also a learning experience as you can get a feel as to what your readers actually care to read about.

That is what make blogging so much fun, trying to work out what your reader will find of interest. Sometimes when we think we do our greatest work and we seem to fall on our faces, it could well be that those who would find it of the most interest just hasn’t read it yet.
My dear Kristi, you get stumbles, diggs as well as comments? You must be the blogging Queen. I am coming on down for a visit to see if some of your blogging prowess can rub off on me.
Seriously, you provide a valid point and that is that comments provide validation and if I may add a warm and fuzzy feeling inside.
Sires last blog post..So, Does Oprah Actually Promote Bullshit?
Sorry, with as ugly as SezWho is, I fail to see how it can do better at interaction.
Plus, since no one else uses it, not much value is provided.
Nice blog though…some good posts.
Thanks for commenting Bobby. I suppose there are those who love it, those who tolerate it and those who hate it. It just goes to show how diverse opinions can be.
I personally like it and don’t find it ugly at all. There will probably me more interaction as more people install it and use the many features such as voting on posts and individual comments.
Sire,
One question. Do you use ’subscribe to comments’ plugin. I can’t seem to get it to work. I wonder if it’s conflicting with Sezwho plugin. Any idea?

Yes I do Peter, and it seems to be working fine. I don’t know of anyone else who is having problems. What is or isn’t it doing.
When I click mine at ’subscribe to comments’ (at top right next to subscribe to RSS/email) it is showing feedburner feed. Where is yours shown anyway, Is it right at the bottom page here(delivered by feedburner)

Mine is just below the comment box, just above the commentluv. I also have the feedburner one below the commentluv.
