When blogging for money the most important item on your list should be a professional theme because like it or not they're going to judge you on how your blog looks. If you're like me you will want a theme that not only looks good it has to be easy to use as well.
I use theFlexSqueeze theme because I found it can do all the things I wanted it to do. This post gives you a sample of what FlexSqueeze is capable of.
Making Money With Amazon
The reason many people join Amazon as an affiliate is because of the range of products they have available for sale. My tool of choice as an Amazon affiliate would have to be WPZon Builder!
The post Why I Love WP Zon Builder gives you a sample of what this exceptional plugin is capable of. In short the main positives would have to be the ease of use and the ability to import the customer reviews into your post.
Choosing The Right Affiliate
Most people who make money online have hit on the right affiliate to promote. This particular Post will direct you to other posts that highlight some of the ways that I have made money online!
They also say the secret to making money online is choosing the right niche. One of the niches I've chosen to add to my online income has to do with the growing Online Lottery industry.
Subscribe To WassupBlog
There are many reasons why you should subscribe to my list, but the most important one being you will never miss out on an important update.
In Australia we’ve had a healthcare system, Medicare, since 1984 and while there are times when the waiting lines are longer than desired, no-one is denied treatment. Whether or not you can afford the treatment does not make a shred of difference when admitted to a public hospital.
The only bone of contention is that those who opt for private cover also have to pay the medical levy, although the government has been offering rebates to encourage more people onto private health in order to relieve the pressure on the public system.
Being an Aussie I’m not at all sure how the health system works in the States, but I was surprised to see the following video.
I was pretty amazed to see that Obama’s plan to introduce a health care system was met with such opposition. What the heck do we pay taxes for if not to be provided with certain services, and I really believe that a government funded health care should be one of those services. I reckon that being able to receive medical treatment should be the right of every citizen, and they certainly should not be denied that right just because they can’t afford it. Sorry, but that’s barbaric.
Anyway, like I said, I’m an Aussie and I’m not at all sure how things are run over there in the States. Perhaps the stuff I see over here where people die because hospitals will not admit them because of lack of medical cover is totally false, I don’t know, but I’m sure that someone out there will be glad to fill me in on the actual facts.

For those newbie bloggers out there who may be wondering as to why so many bloggers insist on their link luv feasts where they, sometimes weekly, link to a whole heap of blogs, well I hope the following three points may clear things up a bit.
To reward their commentators: There are many who feel, and rightly so, that this is a great way to reward those commentators who come back time and time again to add their contribution to their posts.
Sharing a great find: We’re all mates right? So if we come across a great post, that has inspired us, why wouldn’t you want to share it?
Hoping for some reciprocation: I’m sure that even though most bloggers do not actually say outright that they want some link luvin in return, they hope that some of the luv that went out will actually come back in one form or another. Sort of like the old, ‘you scratch my back and I will scratch your back’ mentality.
I would like to point out that point three hardly every occurs when commenting on the so called ‘Pro Blogger’ bloggers. It seems that bloggers like John Chow and Darren Rowse just don’t seem to have the time to reciprocate any favors, heck they don’t even have the time to reply to some of their commentators. Sure they’re blogs are a whole lot busier than ours, but then their pros who have made it to the stage that their blog is their job, whereas many other bloggers have to hold down a job as well has maintaining their blogs.
Still, this post isn’t about a rant at all, I just got side tracked there a bit, it’s about sharing some link luv with those of you out there who have either commented on my blog, or whose blog I have read that had struck a chord in me leading to some link luvin.
will find out everything you want to know about DoFollow, and where to find DoFollow friendly sites.
If yours is a dofollow blog and you want to advertise the fact you should check it out, as Kristi plans to make this the best DoFollow resource center on the net, one that goes beyond the normal dofollow posts you will find as it also allows you to mention any addition features your blog may offer, such as CommentLuv, whether or not Keywords are allowed and the presence of the Top Commentator plugin etc. The fact that she also won Doug’s professional Custom Banner Giveaway Package will ensure that her new site will stand out from the rest.
Trey’s post at Swollen Thumb Entertainment have always been an interesting read, but his A Better Approach To Leaving Comments I found to be a par above the rest. You all know how important I believe commenting is to a blogs sustainability, I’ve been on about it long enough, well Trey has managed to put it in such a way that everyone reading the post will leave a wiser commetator, and if they don’t, well there may be something wrong with them.
Mitch of I’m Just Sharing is an excellent blogger and I am constantly astounded that he is not up there with the big boys. He writes extremely well and is always willing to try something new. Not one to give up, if after giving an idea a good run for it’s money, if it’s not working the way it should be he is willing to change as can be seen from his post, Post#500 Something New For Me.
Now, not everyone is a fan of becoming a dofollow blog, because it sometimes does lead to people leaving stupid nonsensical comments just so they can get a link back to their site. Don’t they realize that there is a spammers hell waiting for them? Luckily Todd of Todd’s Tips has found a plugin that will enable you to Reward Only Your Blogging Friends With DoFollow Links.
Ever since moving from Blogger to WordPress, on her own domain not that free WordPress.org thingy, I reckon it’s safe to say that Ching Ya has never looked back, as can be seen from the amount of comments she’s getting from her happy readers on 16 Social Bookmarking Plugins to Promote Your Posts.
Ever wondered how to create a One Page Adsense Site for your niche? Well that link I’ve just provided will take you to Brian’s Exreme Ezine which is full of marketing tips and other little tid bits.
Last but not least I best not leave out Cheryl who’s ‘Marketing Help Blog‘ is a treat, especially her post on how to Get Backlinks Indexed Faster. Also, if you haven’t had Sheryl comment on one of your posts, you don’t know what your missing. When Sheryl leaves a comment you just know what your going to get and I always read them with some trepidation
Well, I reckon that’s enough link luvin for one post, and I know you must be tired from examining all those links, so I would like to leave you with a little video. I may have spatterings of the ‘F’ word so don’t watch it if you find it offensive.
OK, that’s not completely true as I do try to respond to every one of my commentators, of which some happen to have Blogger blogs. Other than that though I give those blogs a wide berth and if by some unfortunate accident I happen to land on one I’m out of there so fast I don’t even get the chance to read the title let alone the first few words of a post.
What really pisses me off about them is their crappy comment form. Heck, I don’t even mind that they’re nofollow, but when I’ve taken the time to read their post I don’t want to be hassled by a ludicrous comment form that on many occasions, depending on how the blogger has set it up, won’t even allow me to enter my url, and on top of all that, they’ve even installed those BS Captcha thingamajigs, and we all know how much they are detested by the public.
Even though many bloggers, like Ching Ya, are making the switch to self hosted WordPress blogs a whole lot still persist with Blogger and I’ve often wondered why. I’m not going into all the advantages of hosting your own blog, as I’ve already touched on several points with my Why The Professionals Host Their Own Sites. There was however one very important point that I missed.

Realizing A Blogs Dollar Value
Let’s think of our blog as a business for a moment. In any normal business, the owner would invest a lot of time and money in improving it, making it more profitable and in the long run, all going well, he hopes to realize a huge profit when he finally puts it on the market. The same can apply to a well run blog, and this has proven to be so as many bloggers have made a nice sum of money by selling their blog. I’m not sure if anyone has ever successfully sold a Blogger blog?
So the question as to why bloggers still persist with Blogger remains. I think the fact that it’s free possibly has a lot to do with it. Many bloggers simply want an avenue to express themselves and Blogger is perfect for that. But what of all those “How To Make Money” Blogger blogs? Do they really think that anyone is going to take them seriously when they are using a free account? Shit, how much could they possibly be making when they can’t even afford to host their own blog?
I can only think of two possible reasons as to why they don’t make the move to a self hosted blog.
Too Expensive
Perhaps some of them believe it’s going to cost them an arm and a leg to own their own blog. Just to show them how wrong this line of thought is I think it best to list some hosting packages.
HostGator: A very popular host whose most popular plan is only $7.95 per month.
BlueHost: Offer professional hosting at only $6.95 per month and they are including one free domain which means no domain renewal fees which will save you a pretty penny.
HostMonster: This host is also offering a package that also includes a domain, and once again it’s only $6.95 per month.
That’s only 3 of hundreds of possible blog hosts, and as you can see they’re relatively cheap, and once your blog is established you will probably find that your adsense earnings more than cover your hosting costs.
Too Hard To Set Up
I think that perhaps the technical side of setting up a self hosted blog scares people off. It really shouldn’t, but if this is the only thing holding you back I have a possible solution. If you purchase a hosting package from one of the above links and run into trouble I will do my utmost to help you get it up and running. It’s always best to give it a try first as you will learn more from the effort, but if you get stuck just use the contact form to get in touch with me.
Man, it seems that I wasn’t the first one to write about his dislike for Blogger. It seems my old mate Mitch beat me to it, again LOL
As another month goes by it’s time to post the stats for the previous month. I must admit that for the first week or two Adsense wasn’t producing anything at all for the first week or two, but fortunately it kicked in later on in the month. As you can see it’s down from last month but, at least it managed to get over the $20 mark.
Overall my earnings was down, but that’s not at all surprising as I didn’t expect to earn another $100 from Commission Junction. Unfortunately those commission rates are few and far between.
Paid posts are also down, but I’ve decided to wind down the amount of paid posts I take on as I just don’t have the time to pump out as much as I would like to.
It’s not often that I post a video on this blog, but I couldn’t help myself when I came across this one. This ad has only just started being aired on TV this past couple of days and I was quite surprised when one of the survey companies I’m a member of actually paid me money to view it.
The ad was produced by the ANZ bank and is obviously aimed at the small business owner. Normally you tend to cringe at commercials because so much of them are just crap, but this one is really quite entertaining.
Pretty cool huh. PureProfile, the survey company that sent me the link, is pretty well the only survey company that actually pays me a nominal amount even if I get screened out from a survey. As for this particular ad, they paid me 15cents to watch it, and the funny thing is that I would have watched it for free.
