What Is The Real Value Of YouTube Shorts?

This post is about whether it’s Worth Doing Shorts On YouTube? I’ve been doing shorts on YouTube for a while now, and I’ve learned a few interesting facts about YouTube Shorts. I’m going to share these with you now.

Can You Make Money With YouTube Shorts?

The answer is yes and no. Yes, you can make money but what you earn from shorts is nowhere near as much as you do on your long-term videos. The reason is that YouTube only pays six lousy cents per 1 million views. How do I know that? That’s what this YT creator told me in his short How Much YouTube paid for 1 million views. But that didn’t sound right so I did some math and left him this comment.

I think the maths is all wrong because 1 million x 6 cents is $60,000. So to earn $60 for a million views YT is only paying us 0.00006 cents which is pathetic

However, that may have changed since that particular Short was published so I checked my shorts stats on Laughaholics. My shorts this year have been erratic so when working out the stats I did it for a year. In 2024 my shorts had 34.7K views earning me $3.12. That equates to 0.00009 cents! A bit more than the above Youtuber but still pathetic.

If The Money Is Bad Why Bother With Shorts?

To answer that I’m going to tell you why I do it.

  • Subscribers: Since I started doing shorts I’ve grown my subscribers an extra 38 in the last year. Comparing that to the 58 subscribers from my normal video I think that’s pretty good.
  • Shorts, for me, are easy to produce and take a lot less effort.
  • Shorts can be fun to make.
  • Shorts appeal to a different audience which I would be missing out on if I wasn’t producing them.

As to whether or not it’s Worth Doing Shorts On YouTube I feel that will all depend on the individual YouTuber. As far as I’m concerned the answer to whether it’s Worth Doing Shorts On YouTube the answer is yes.

How Good Is Temu?

Is Temu As Good As They Say

Temu has been around for quite some time, and I’ve stayed clear of it for ages, but I recently decided to bite the bullet and try Temu out. You can see some of my experiences in the video, Is it worth joining Temu? You can see all the stuff I bought from Temu in that video, and I’ll be sharing with you some of the other stuff I’ve purchased since that video.

The Quality Of Temu Products?

The first thing I noticed was that some of the products were not the best quality, but then at the price I paid for them, I didn’t expect them to be. Take the leather belt in the image below for example. It doesn’t feel like good quality leather but it does look the part and I love it. The best thing I like about it is that there are no holes, you simply slip the belt through the buckle and it grabs on. There is a little lever under the buckle that you have to press for it to release the hold on the belt.

How good is Temu?

I’m a bit of a handyman so I bought a few tools that I thought would come in handy. Believe it or not, it was only a couple of weeks after its arrival that one tool saved me a lot of frustration. You can see that tool in the second image below. It’s the second image on the left and it can be found in the bottom right-hand corner. I had to remove a screw that I couldn’t get to because it was right in the corner, but putting that tool on the end of my drill got it out in seconds. Quality-wise, it was cheap and nasty, but it worked and I reckon I can use it heaps more times before it breaks. When that happens, I’ll just buy another one.

How good is the quality of Temu products?

What Is The Temu Return Policy?

As for the Temu return policy, I think it depends on who supplied the product. The first product I thought I might have to return was the portable electronic inflatable pump. Don’t get me wrong it worked fine but it was missing the little adaptors that you use to inflate balls etc. When I brought this up the supplier sent me another pump without asking me to return the other one. I now have two pumps.

Yesterday I was excited to get my drone. It worked fine but I reckon they put the camera upside down but what really got me was that the battery went flat in under two minutes. I wasn’t happy with that so I asked to return it. No problems at all. They sent me a link showing me the process and I repackaged it in the original package and will take it to the post office tomorrow. It didn’t cost me anything either.

Can You Make Money With Temu?

Apparently so because you can join as a Temu Affiliate. As this is my first post promoting Temu as an affiliate I can’t give you a definitive answer to this question. But I’m hoping to in the future.

Is Google Doorbell Worth The Money?

Today’s post is all about my Google Doorbell and whether or not I think Google Doorbell is worth it. Before I go any further I have done two YouTube reviews on the Google Doorbell. The first was my Under 60 Seconds Google Doorbell Review. The second was My Honest Google Doorbell Review, which was a more in depth review of the Google Doorbell. Something that I didn’t mention in this review was that I have an Apple IOS system and so it may be a little different for those of you who have Android.

Ease Of Setting Up The Google Doorbell

As most people do before attempting to install anything they will normally Google it. I found getting started with the Nest Doorbell site the most useful. My Nest Doorbell synched seamlessly with my Google Home and its installation was a breeze. I had it up and running in no time.

Can Your Google Nest Doorbell Be Hooked Up To Your Existing Wired Doorbell?

The answer to this is Yes, but you need to check first as to whether it is compatible or not. I found this video very helpful. As it turns out my Google Doorbell was compatible and it works a treat. Why would you want your Battery doorbell connected to an existing wired doorbell? Well, I found some of my rooms were out of earshot of my Google Home unless I had it on full volume which I didn’t want. In those cases the original doorbell would always notify me.

Also, and more importantly, having it wired to the existing doorbell seems to supply power to the doorbell so I haven’t needed to charge the battery.

Google Doorbell Video Quality

As for the video quality I found it to be excellent. You can see the quality for yourself in my My Honest Google Doorbell Review. When my daughter and granddaughter rang the doorbell I was able to have a chat with them from mums and it was crystal clear.

Facial Recognition?

Although I don’t have facial recognition it’s only because I haven’t subscribed to it, a subscription of around $12 will fix that.

With Nest Aware, you can use familiar face detection1 to teach your Google Nest camera to recognize faces of people that you know, and notify you when it detects people it doesn’t recognize. Over time, facial recognition becomes more accurate at determining familiar faces and can send you more helpful alerts.

You can also manage your familiar faces library in the app, like change a person’s name or delete a face profile.

All in all I am more than happy with my Google Doorbell. You can get yours from Amazon if you’re in the market for a good video doorbell.
