I was thinking today that talking scales would make for a great gift. I know I’m considering one. Why? I’m glad you asked. You see, my eyesight isn’t as good as it used to be, something to do with my age I reckon, and unless I’m wearing my glasses I can’t see how much I weigh. So, after getting off the scales to find my glasses I got back on the scales to find out that I lost half a kilo. At least that was some good news. 
I then went to my MacBook Air and use WP Zon Builder to see whether Amazon had talking scales. They actually had several so I spent the next little while to see which one had the highest amount of good reviews. It turned out to be the My Weigh XL-550 Talking Bathroom Scale sells for $41.99, which is cheaper than the one on eBay.
Too bad there wasn’t a scale that had a humor function. You know, instead of just telling you your weight it would come up with facetious, like, “Hey lard arse, you put on 300 grams! I reckon it’s time you lay off eating those chocolate cakes.” 
Better still, imagine the positive effect it could have if said something like ; “Hey, you lost half a kilo! Great job! Keep it up, you’re looking really great.”
