June Statistics Better Than Expected
Man, oh man, I can’t believe that half the year has just gone by. Where the hell did it go? It’s almost as if I blinked and missed most of it. Reckon I’m going to have to stop doing that. Still, as the last month has gone by it’s now time to post last month’s statistics. I’m happy to report that the overall earnings are up and that it is partly related to the overall page impressions increasing from 10,729 to 13,200.
The other major difference it that the paid reviews takings has also increased partly because I’ve had some nice tasks assigned to me. It seems that some of the advertisers have taken a liking to my work. I’ve even had to knock several back because they were either too low or not suited to the blog in question.
Anyway, enough waffle, lets get down to the stats.
- Adsense: $30.43
- Voxsant: $0.19
- Kontera: $0.11
- Clix Galore: $0.40
- Chitika: $1.81
- Infolinks: $1.15
- Advertisers: $4
- Commission Monster: $19.42
- Jumbo Affiliates: $5.38
- Paid Posts $135
Total: $197.89
The biggest jump was obviously the paid reviews, but we also had a couple of affiliates that have decided to show some stats this month, Commission Monster and Jumbo affiliates. I was lucky to make a couple of sales from Commission Monster that paid 5% commission as well as a campaign that paid 35 cents per click. Too bad that campaign only lasted a week. As for Jumbo affiliates, thanks to the $90 Million OZ Lotto Jackpot last Tuesday I made some commission from sales as well as signing up 15 new clients. Hopefully this will lead to a steady monthly income stream. Note to self; Must remember to keep an eye on future Jackpot draws.

It is really unbelievable, normally we get always low results when we expect something. But its great to see that you have got you wanted to, the results here define everything.

Well done on the stats, very impressive. It’s funny you mentioned that half the year is gone, it just flew past. At least we still have Christmas to look forward to.
I made over $140 this month which is a huge bonus for me. It’s partially cause of selling my one theme license and commission from Thesis.
I agree with Extreme John, keep it up and your stats will increase.

Hi Sire, glad to hear that earnings are up. Aren’t you afraid that all of these ads (I’m guessing 50 ads or more per page) is actually distracting people from clicking anything?

Not particularly. If they find something interesting they will click, if they don’t they won’t. All the ads a different so I am just giving them a choice. Also it’s not like they are seeing all the ads at once, they appear as they scroll down.
I liken it to a customer in a department store that can’t find what they want because the store does not stock enough range that then goes to another store with a bigger range.
Besides, stats show that they are clicking, but not buying, so if anything I may need to change the products on display.

Fair enough. I’ve just read that slamming too many ads in people’s faces will have the exact opposite effect and especially in today’s world where people HATE ads.

I’ve read the same thing but I decided I didn’t believe it to be entirely true. I’ve been in retail for close to thirty years and one of the biggest sellers are what is known as impulse lines. These are products that are put placed in strategic positions that are pretty well in the face of the customer. Customers didn’t come to buy that product but do so purely on impulse.
The ads on this blog are my impulse lines. Those reading the posts rarely even see the ads so I don’t even see them as a problem.
They are place in a neat orderly fashion so as not to be too obtrusive, perhaps if it were otherwise it may be more of a problem.

I’d have to say I agree that maybe you do have too many ads. I’d be tempted to drop the ones that make less than $1/month. Let that traffic go to the better performing ads. Ads on a website are quite different than impulse items. In a store you won’t particularly care if there are a lot of impulse item. On a website, too many ads lowers the reader’s trust and overall impression. Otherwise, congrats on the income increase.

Well Cash Back, unfortunately I had to ‘d-link’ your url, not because I disagree with you, which I do, but because you failed to follow my comment policy. As to the ads, if I were to remove all the ones that earn less $1 month I’d have virtually no ads to display.
I’m not sure that your inference to ads and trust is entirely accurate, all I can say is that on a personal level I don’t feel that way when visiting other sites.
Thanks for the comment, and please do so again but follow the comment policy if you would like to get the ‘link luv’.

Those are some impressive numbers Sire. The most I have earned on Adsense was around $20. I have made small amount with paid reviews as well, but no where near $135. Keep up the great work.
PS: What paid review company works best for you? Thanks in advance.

Congrats with the income on your blog, I wish it was me :) So far it seems you have 8-9 times as much traffic as I do, fortunately my blog is only about a week old, so I still have time to reach your level – so for now, you will be the guy I look up to :)
What made you decide to publish your page impressions and earnings, just full disclosure?

I saw others doing it and I figured it was a good way to be up front and show that I am exactly what I say I am and nothing more. It’s also good to gauge your level of improvement over time.
Congrats on starting your first blog. I wish you all the best with it.

Nice statistics and what is even more important (as far as I think) that they look realistic. I saw some blogs where people claim that they earned 500.000 $ in one month, others maybe not that much but close. I always wonder why do they want to fool people? Is this also a part of their business? I mean here also sites of people who doesn’t sell golden tips to make as much money as they do.

I’m afraid that is exactly what a lot of people try to do. They think that by posting exaggerated earnings people will come to take them seriously thereby buying what they are selling. Unfortunately, a lot of people managed to get sucked in by these tactics.
