I love the English language because some words have so many meanings it can confuse the crap out of anyone trying to learn English. There are words that sound the same but mean something entirely different. One example that comes to mind are the words threw and through.
There are also many words that can have several meanings, one that comes to mind is huddle. A huddle can be a person who draws themselves into a crouch or it can be a group of people that crowd closely together. In sports a huddle is when the coach or captain of the team gathers them all together for a pep talk or to discuss strategy. I’ve chosen a nice image to illustrate this type of huddle. The reason I chose this picture should be quite evident to those who know me.
But I didn’t get you here just to look at a lovely huddle of nice butts. No sirree, I got you here to introduce you to an online huddle, one that many of you will find quite useful.
This particular Huddle is an online site that gives you “simple, secure online work spaces containing powerful project and collaboration tools. Huddle is hosted, there’s no software to download and it’s free to get started.” Yep, you can do it all online with not a thing to download to your computer.
Huddle will allow you to;
- Manage your projects
- Share and store files online
- Create and edit documents online
- Allow you to have group discussions
- Allows you to invite as many users as you need
A London based company it’s used by thousands of users including major companies such as Panasonic, Kia Motors, Nokia, P&G and even major charities such as UNICEF. The main advantage of Huddle is that it allows groups of people to brainstorm online, thereby allowing them to work effectively over vast distances.
So, if you have ever had the need to share a file, to manage your calendar or any of your many daily tasks then Huddle is for you. If you have the need to get a group of people that reside in far off parts of the country or even the world you will find that Huddle will help you out, and don’t forget that because it is completely web based there is absolutely nothing to install.
Naturally, the best way to test to see if it will do all that I say it does is to take it for a spin, and now would be the ideal time to give it a try as they are offering a month’s free trial, just click on the following link. Huddle Accounts – 1 Month Free Trial!
One last thing, in addition to Huddle’s Iphone app, they’re also the official collaboration application for well know social networks such as LinkedIn.com, Ning.com, Xing.com and Facebook.com. Just thought I should mention that before I forgot.
Once you’ve taken it for a spin I would love if you would take the time to come back and let the rest of us know exactly what you thought of it.

Great article, thanks for sharing with us. I think I like the team huddle more than the online huddle, does that make me shallow?!?!
I don’t think it does, I’m almost certain that’s why Sire used it. Even for me, it’s a nice view.Oh but don’t start thinking naughty now, okay?
Twitter: AussieSire
Damn, and I was just starting to daydream Karo
You are right though, I had several to choose from and I chose that one because I liked the view :tongue_rolleye_ee:
Naughty, naughty boy. It’s just good you have brains to go with it. I guess that’s what makes you really s-e-x-y. Oh, hope we’re still within blogging matters, just thought i’ll go with the flow…
I agree with Matt, the group huddle seems more huddleable. Yup, just made up a new word. Add that to the list. Try saying it out loud.

Huddleable rolls off the tongue nicely. I’ll see if I can work it into a conversation today. :)
Twitter: AussieSire
Huddleable, huddleable, yeah it sort of roles off the tongue don’t it?
Huddle does sound like it would make things a lot easier for business, social groups and the like. Offering a free trial is a good idea too so people can see whether it’s suitable for them.
An online conference center. Not the first, but a cool find none the less thanks man. :)

I have not heard of Huddle before.
Well, I have heard of Huddle but not the website for team collaboration.
Then again, most of whom I work with I can yell at, kick under the table, or use my Go-Go- Gadget arm to slap.
I will keep you in mind when I hear someone asking for such a site.
I will also think of you every time I see a girls volleyball team. LOL!

Was that a volley ball team?
I wouldn’t mind one of those Go-Go Gadgets arms to pinch one of them on the ass and then act all innocent like
Huddle is a new service to me. I might have to try it out at some point. I am wondering, however, what is the difference between Huddle and Google Docs?

To tell you the truth Ryan I’ve never heard of Google Docs. That’s probably best left for someone from Huddle to answer that question. Hopefully they will take the time to give you a reply.
Google Docs is a free service to anyone with a Google Account. You can upload/create documents, spreadsheets, etc. You can also allow other people to create and edit the documents. It’s a pretty cool service if you need to collaborate or share documents with other people.

Thanks mate, I did actually have a look at it and I could see the similarities but I don’t know enough about both sites to give a proper comparison.
Still, thanks for taking the time for that followup comment, it’s much appreciated.
Good question – and one we hear often! Quite simply, Google Docs is a great tool for storing and simple sharing of docs and spreadsheets but for managing complex projects or sharing a lot of content it falls flat.
Huddle provides a lot more features and control – as well as documents (of all kinds and of all sizes) you can share discussions, projects, wikis and hold online meetings. We like to think of Huddle as Google Docs + Basecamp + Webex + a whole lot more.
Hope that helps :)

Hi Andy, so nice to see someone from Huddle pop in to contribute to the discussion.
It’s always been my experience that you would get more benefit from a paid site than a free site but I didn’t want to make that assumption here without knowing the facts. Thanks so much for clearing that up.
I personally a use to of Google Doc and now FB coming with another Doc site collaboration with Microsoft. So, I definitely not willing to buy one but why should I don’t test it when it’s free for one month. Thanks for sharing this.

Testing it would be the way to go Arafat as that’s the only way you will know if it has true value for money.
Looks like a cool way to manage projects. As with all software and technical things, it takes time to learn the ins and outs of it. I really do enjoy it when there are clear tutorials that take us step by step in learning how to do things. That way we don’t take so long to actually be able to use it.
Thanks for sharing with us this information (except for the butts.. hee hee)
Blessings,
Eren

That’s OK Eren, anyway, those butts are for the boys
Hmmm I like that kind of huddle :D
Nah, lets get back to the product. Looks amazing especially the Live Collaboration seems to be decent cause for example web conferencing is integrated in the online software.

I think the fact that you don’t need to download software to run it is a bonus and that means no matter where you find yourself, even if you don’t have your computer, you can still access it.
I think you put up the picture to get us to look at nice “American” butts!
Having said that, I wonder if anyone has compared this to Google Docs to see what the differences in the two are, since Docs supposedly does the same thing. Personally, I have to admit that this type of cloud computing is something that I’ve been hesitant to try; couldn’t tell you why, though.

I only used ‘American’ butts because the sexy Aussie ones weren’t available at the time :tongue_wink_ee:
Actually Andy from Huddle did leave a comment suggesting that Huddle had a lot more ‘features and control’.
Hey Sire!
I haven’t heard of Huddle, but I wouldn’t mind Huddling with them :) Damit my wife just asked me what I was looking at. “Um nothing Honey”
Well still kinda busy with the new one and the 3 other kids. I will be off and on. I need to create a post Geez……….gotta get on that. Where is that friggen recipe book. Oh no I think the kid just spit up on it.

hey Jim, sorry mate I haven’t had the time to pop in to see what you’ve been cooking up these days. Not to worry I will be dropping in soon, so keep the oven warm for me.
Well honestly Sire I haven’t cooked up anything new. I do have to get back on that I just don’t know when. Been kinda busy with the Family…well someday I will get back there.
.-= Jim Hardin´s last blog ..Pineapple Upside Down Nofun Post Cake =-.

Don’t worry Jim, family always has to come first mate, there will be plenty of time to cook something up and I’m sure it will be worth the wait.
I particularly like the file storage and group discussion features interesting. I’ll try Huddle out over the weekend.

Sire,
this is a good tool for collaborating people online. Great advantage is that it has a 14 day free trial. It’s worth trying really. Thanks for posting this!
Twitter: AussieSire
yeah, that’s the good thing about free trials
