I think governments and tax departments are all the same no matter where you are. Years ago I invested in a Bruce Willis film because at the time it was a legal venture and it meant I could defer paying the tax for seven years. The year after the tax dept. decided to change the rules, and back dated the legislation catching everyone it it's vile net. I was fined an exorbitant amount and had to take a loan because they wouldn't accept payments saying I could sell the home to pay the fine. Ass holes. In the end there was a class action against them and seven years down the track we won and I got my money back. Yeah, that pretty well sucks.
