There may have been at least one time in a person’s life when they looked at a particular given situation and just thought “It should have been me.” This is normally said by someone who has either left something undone until it was too late or perhaps even never started but felt that they could have been that person if only they pulled their finger out and had gotten on with it.
I’m sure that there are some bloggers out there who feel that they could have been part of the Pro Blogger group if only they had been given the chance. Truth is that we’ve all got potential to be more than what we are but we don’t all utilize that potential.
I found a video that sums all this up really well and I hope you all get a real kick out of it.

I am a huge fan of the British comedies but had not watched this until I saw your video clip. Now I am addicted!! Thank you.
I’m glad you liked it Thomas
Great video! I personally have had those “that should’ve been me” moments, but now I try to do everything I’ve decided on doing, so that I’d have fewer regrets

Not having regrets is important Julius, it sure makes life more enjoyable.
That video was a good kick start for me this morning, thanks.
My pleasure.
I have had many “it should’ve been me” moments and what if I have really done them, maybe I wouldn’t be thinking too much about it from time to time. Your video reminds me of my past actions, or I would say, past non-actions wherein I should’ve done something but then I let the situation pass me by.
Check out what Felicia recently posted..Holyfields new career
In situations like that Felicia I’ve always found it better not to dwell on them. The past is best forgotten, unless they’re enjoyable or instructive memories.
To be honest I’ve never thought that it should have been me, and I’m planning to keep it this way :) Anyway funny, funny, funny. You made my day!
I aim to please Mia.
Yeah I’m sure we always think “it could’ve been me” but until we take action and implement our plans- it’ll never be us! This post is really motivational in that it keeps us in check with reality and our dreams. If you have dreams, go for it. One day someone could be saying, “I wish I were him/her” and it could be you they’re now talking about.
Yep, it’s better to just get on with it, doing the best you can with what you have and always reaching for the ultimate. Not getting disappointed when things don’t work out, rather we should be changing our paths a little and merely keep trying until we finally succeed. One day it will finally be us.
Oh my goodness Sire.. that is so funny LOL! I personally believe with all my heart that each person has their own calling in life and if someone is very successful I’m happy for them. I don’t think of it should have been me because what I am called to do is not someone else’s calling. If I haven’t yet achieved the goals that I want it’s okay. I will someday. I always repeat this phrase to myself: I am exactly where I am supposed to be. It gives me a wonderful sense of encouragement and peace.
Funny video- thanks for sharing.
Blessings,
Eren

I think everyone has that thought or at least we should. If you don’t, you probably haven’t thought of anything. Personally, I’ve had a few of those things I wish I had completed or tried. I also have a few things that I’m glad I tried. Some have worked out some haven’t. We should all wake up in the morning and put our best foot forward.

This is just the best ever scene from Vicar of Dibley! I was in tears laughing the first time I saw this! Especially the Parishers dancing and Alices giving him the finger at the beginning. LOL when she punches his sister then on second thoughts punches him too! XD
Yeah, I reckon all the actors had a real fun time making it as well.

Love Vicar of Dibley I cried when they said they stop doing them I think the best scene is where the vicar goes for drinks without make up on and then met Davids little brother and than ran back to her house like a teletubby.
It is a shame they stopped making them, something I didn’t know, but at least we will always have the repeats. Heck we can even buy the series online.

Enjoyable video Sire. Thanks. I had a most unusual experience of this. Much after my marriage, my wife and I met one of my girl friends from my bachelor days. She did not bother about niceties, she simply told both of us, that it should have been her standing beside me instead of my wife! My wife too did not bat an eyelid and said, you can have him now with my compliments!

I think we all have those (as I like to call them) “what if” moments in our lives. I do live my life to its fullest, so instead of sitting on the sidelines of life watching others do things that I’d like to do; I just do them. Hi,
I linked to this from just-ask-kim.com who gave you a high recommendation and she was right! I am a relatively novice blogette-girlie and will be coming back here to check in again as you have some blog-wisdom….
I don’t want to make money from my blog for me, I want to get people to donate to children’s charities of their choice and then give me their words. I am to raise money, not via my blog as I don’t want to look like a scam, I want people to give direct. If you want to advise me please feel free, love any feedback.
Like this, will be back to get more wisdom:-))))

I see no reason why you shouldn’t be able to use your blog to raise money for charity. You could also provide links to reputable charities from within your posts as well as your blogroll. Careful you don’t use too many banners though as your blog may get that ‘cluttered’ look

I also linked through from Kimberly Castleberry and I’m so glad I did! I loved the movie, being born at the end of the baby boomer generation, I have a tendencny to relate more to generation X or Y – enjoying movies more than text! I’m not happy with the ‘bird’ but I guess that accentuates the point!
Even though this movie was entertaining, I don’t relate with the feeling because I know that if I do what needs to be done, it will be me! :)

I often wonder why Americans get so upset at the ‘bird’. I didn’t realize this until I used it in one of my videos, seems I should have used another finger. Still it’s something to know if I ever visit the States.
It’s good to see you have the right attitude too.

I’ve often said this quote. There are so many things I see now that I thought about more than 20, sometimes 30 years ago, and someone else is making money off it. People always say “yeah, but your life would be different now if you’d done that”; my response is always “so”! lol
Check out what Mitch recently posted..How Influential Are You Online
Actually that brings to mind a little invention I thought of. When my kids were babies and had to take some sort of medication it was always a nightmare. Yet they loved their dummies so i thought it would be a great idea if someone invented a dummy where the teats had holed and it held a reservoir that could hold the medication so they were automatically medicated as they sucked.
Several years later I saw the very same thing on the shelf. Someone else had the same idea and went through with it.
Check out what Sire recently posted..How A Woman Made Me Change My Evil Ways
Okay, I have to admit that I think that’s a horrific idea, and the fact that someone actually made that means someone deserves to be slapped! You had the sense not to do it; oy! lol
Check out what Mitch recently posted..CPAP Adventures
Why do you say that Mitch? I honestly thought it was a great idea.
I had my wife read this (first time) and she said “no way” as well. Just the idea of having one’s baby suckling from something else like that that’s representing a mother’s breast sounds… well, icky!
:nono_tb: :nono_tb:
Mitch, it’s just like any other dummy, or pacifier, jut that this one dispels medication that the baby may not otherwise take.

Everyone at a certain point in their life had a moment of ” should’ve been me” and who says it didn’t it’s not telling the truth- my opinion. Is in our nature to think stuff like this and we can’t fight nature!
I reckon it happens to everyone, but the trick is not to let it get you down.

Sire, did you ask your wife what she thought about such a doll? I mean, from a guy’s perspective it might sound somewhat logical, but I can’t imagine a woman would allow a surrogate “suckler” taking her place, which is what that kind of doll would be. I mean, why not just use a bottle, which would serve the same purpose?
Of course, I’m a guy, and I can see the thought behind it, but I just couldn’t do it. Maybe it’s the military kid in me coming out again. :unsure_tb:
Ah, what we have here is a failure to communicate, which is why I used the word pacifier in my last comment. I forget sometimes that Americans don’t always understand the Aussie lingo. You see over here we refer to pacifiers as a babies dummy. It’s not a doll at all. That would be weird.
Perhaps you should explain it to your wife before she tells you that you should stop talking to that Aussie freak.

The Vicar of Dibley is a classic. It is one of the best sit-coms I have ever seen and still brings Christianity into the show. Dawn French is great as Geraldine and I am soo sad to see it stop. The Vicar of Dibley is a classic. It is one of the best sit-coms that I believe have ever been made. It makes me laugh all the way through every episode and makes a great end to a day. Dawn French as Geraldine is excellent and really makes it a hilarious show. Even though it is a comedy it still manages to bring out Christianity into the show as the main character is a Vicar. It shows us that a Vicar doesn’t have to be the stereotype but that they are humans who act and feel like we do. I am soo sad that it has ended this year (2007) but the last episode was really lovely and was a fitting end to the show. I highly recommend this show to anyone of any age because it is just a great show to watch.

Luckily you can still buy the episodes online
This programme is timeless and a delight to watch over and over again. Throughout the programme I find my mind constantly changing as to whether I would like to live in a small village or not. Geraldine, the vicar, (Dawn French) constantly makes fun of herself and the church, but in such a respectful way that it does not offend any viewer.
Your not wrong their Sam. I reckon that’s why the show’s been so popular.
When I started the video I didn’t know what I was getting into and wondering where it was going…but it did give me a chuckle. I needed the laugh. Thanks.

My pleasure Cheryl, I’m glad you liked it.
The Vicar of Dibley is an amazing show and must be a t.v comedy classic. It makes me laugh when I’m down and every episode is different which makes it interesting to watch.
Dawn French who plays Geraldine Granger is a great actor and makes it a hilarious show. The shows producers and creators came up with such amazing characters. I love the diversity and large range of personalities between the characters. My favorite character was Alice (played by Emma Chambers)because she was always funny and ditsy. I am so sad that it ended but the last episode was really lovely and was a fitting end to the show. I highly recommend this show to anyone of any age because it is just a great show.
It sure is a great show, and the comic relief comes in handy after a hard days work.

Hi Sire, this is really amazing comedy. I watch it twice and really can’t help my self to laugh…lol…Thanks for sharing this video. I really love it.
As a church goer I love the Vicar of Dibley. I love the fact that we can laugh at the people we would otherwise think should be as straight laced as the communion cloth.
That’s why it’s always best if we grab an opportunity especially when that opportunity comes once in a lifetime. As a blogger, it is always best if you start blogging when you have that idea because good bloggers might be having the same idea as you are.

I don’t like the Vicar of Dibley. I don’t find any of it funny at all. At the basis of my complete dis-interest in the programme is the fact that I don’t believe in Dawn French as the Vicar. She doesn’t come across as someone who believes in her job or in Christianity.
That’s cool, I suppose it’s not for everybody.
