Google Sucks And How Inspiration Can Help Your Blog
Inspiration can come in many forms, sometimes it can be because of positive things that happen to you and on other occasions it can be because of something more on the negative side. Take this little poem for example. It will probably never make it into a book of poems and that does not bother me at all because I had fun writing it. It all came about on that dreadful day not so long ago when Google decided to strip my PR4 blogs of their ranking and reduce them to PR0. I was not impressed, ergo the birth of this poem.
Google’s like a woman
As fickle as can be
Use all The SEO you can
She’ll crush you like a flea
You read all the SEO tactics
You apply it to your blog
Then those Google pricks
Give your Rankings a flog
Women like to change the rules
And Google is just the same
She acts as if all bloggers are fools
For trying to play the game
On minute your feeling happy
Your PR is pretty good
Then you’re feeling crappy
And you wish you understood
Yeah, Google is no lady
The way she treats her fans
Her actions kind of shady
Ruining many bloggers plans
We all don’t rort the system
Yet she treats us all the same
Yeah, we’re not all like them
Spammers should wear the blame
Bloggers have to live too
Paid posts are just a job
Oh Google if you only knew
You’re acting like a slob
We can’t use rel-nofollow
As then we won’t get paid
Your rules are hard to swallow
Us bloggers all feel so betrayed
Well I say stuff you whore
I removed your stupid toolbar
Though my rankings may not soar
My content you cannot mar
Hell, who am I kidding
Please give my PR back
Your Praises I will sing
Just cut me some slack!
So, I suggest that as a blogger you should look at everything that may happen in your life as a possible blog post. All you need do is to be creative and turn it into something that if nothing else you can have a bit of fun with. Perhaps it will please others enough to leave a comment, perhaps not, as long as you got enjoyment out of doing then that is all that matters.

Yes, it’s a shame that Google can’t see us as people trying to make a living. Thanks for the kind words Lucas.

Outstanding. I love your little ditties. They’re so visual. LOL
Yeah, Redhead Rants got the big Google bitchslap too. :( Very sad, but I can’t let it get me down. I haven’t been doing any paid posts for a while, but still finding interesting ways of earning a few bucks here and there.
“I got the Google smackdown,
From PR3 to zip.
It made my eyes to water,
And quivered my bottom lip.
But now I’m feeling better
I’ve found the magic key
I simply smile and walk away
And Google can just bite me”.

In regards to making money Christine, have you read this post about a guaranteed monthly income? Things going well I’ve got about 45 British Pounds in the Kitty! That’s about $80 US and $98 Aussie. Twenty of those was from referrals and the rest from 5 of my blogs. Once the money is in the PayPal account you can be sure I will be doing a ‘serious’ raving about this great deal.

Well Sire, at least they’re still listing your site in their search engines, which means you’re still valid in some fashion. Just asking, but have you checked your stats to see what percentage of traffic you get from Google in the first place?

According to Google analytics 13% of my traffic is from search engines, and about 70% of those from Google. 67% from Referral sites and the remainder is direct traffic.

And there you are. Your site may not have page rank, but your visitors are primarily coming from other places.

As you know Mitch I have many blogs, and the inspiration for this poem came from one of those where I was Google Slpapped.

Not too bad not too bad! I’m not too sure about the reference to woman and the similarities to Google Page Rank butt it was a good poem!
Look let’s be frank page rank means nothing! Well to some it means a lot but the idea here isn’t about page rank! The general idea is to understand Google enough so you can use it to your own advantage!
Forget page rank for a second and start thinking SEO! Who cares what Google thinks regarding page rank as long as you’re getting the organic traffic!
Content is king Sire keep your head up a page rank update should be in your favor soon.

Heck Brian, everyone knows that some women can be pretty fickle and can change their mind at a drop of the hat, it is after all their prerogative to do so. Well how is that different from Google?
Still, it was all in good fun and I enjoyed doing it. PR is cool, but I much prefer the traffic. Thanks for the comment.

You’re not paid to post, you’re paid to link. That’s why Google slapped you. Google hasnt changed their rules at all. … I was a “postie” and Google slapped my PR. I removed all my paid posts and asked for reconsideration – they gave me back my PR and I’ve enjoyed it for over a year. Moral: stop blaming Google for your inability to tell the difference between getting paid to provide a link, and getting paid for being a writer.

Wow, a hit and run post slamming the author. Hidden and anonymous; it’s almost as if this post doesn’t count because no one wrote it. That’s how I see it anyway; no guts, no glory. I’d delete it in a heartbeat if it showed up on my blog without attribution.

No biggie Mitch. I’m not at all fussed about his opinion. At least I don’t have to worry about reciprocating his comment.
I would hate to be one of the advertisers you paid him for his posts. Removing them just goes to show his moral makeup.

I hate hit and run punks who don’t have the courage to show all their information while spreading their hate and stupidity. I didn’t even know you could turn off Sez Who, since I didn’t join up to begin with. That shows he’s a troll; I’d have deleted it and never looked back. You’re a good man in that regard, Sire.

Neither did I Mitch. When it comes to blogging I’ve discovered that I am pretty thick skinned. The fact that he didn’t leave a link either meant he didn’t have one to leave or he was ashamed of his blogging prowess. He even left a fake email address.

Wassup G, never heard of poetic license? I know exactly why I got slapped. As a postie, the advertisers want more than just a link. They want content. If you don’t supply good content you don’t get the tasks.
So I lost my PR, so what? Those blogs are still making me good money.

I wish I could explain it. I know that I haven’t installed any popups or anything that would cause that to happen. Can that sort of thing attach itself to your theme automatically. It’s never happened to me. Is it just happening from the home page or from anywhere in the blog?

I can’t fully answer that one. However, all I did was copy and paste the comments link into the browser, and that’s where it took me, and it’s done that before. So, it seems to be random.
