Check it out guys, I have just installed the Twittley WordPress Plugin, which is sitting on the top left at the moment but I may be moving it around some, just to keep thinks interesting. You may be wondering how I came across this unique find and the answer is quite simple. I found while doing my rounds of blog hopping.
You may or may not have heard of Extreme Johns Blog, and there is one thing I can assure you, you ain’t going to find any crap there, although John’s about section states;
Hey, I’m Extreme John I post crap on Blogging, Business, Twitter, Rants, MMA, and my life.
But that’s just John. The post that caught my eye was called Bloggers No Twittley Button? Big Mistake! Once I read his post I could see his point of view and I wasted no time in installing the Twittley WordPress Plugin.
I’m not going to rehash all the reason why you should do the same because there’s no point when John has already done a great job of it himself. There is one point that I would like to make and that is Twittley is so much better than Digg because it’s so much easier to submit an article if you are already a member of Twitter as you don’t have to enter all that crap to get it to accept the article. One click of the button ant it get’s Re Tweeted.
That alone isn’t what sold it to me though. It’s the potential behind every time that button is clicked. If you Digg a post only a limited amount of people get to see it, unless you get heaps of Diggs. With Twittley every click is seen by each and every follower of the person who clicked it. Now, that is really cool.

Uhhh, didn’t you already write on this, or have I lost my mind?
.-= Mitch´s last blog ..Marketing Vs. Promoting =-.
Nope, that was another plugin entirely. I think it’s the last post on the related Posts list.
Okay, we were talking about it on “To Blog Or Not To Blog”. Whew!
.-= Mitch´s last blog ..Michael Jackson – The Follow Up =-.
Yea, Twittley is great. I use it on one of my sites and it adds a little bit of traffic. Another nice thing about Twittley is that it only takes a 5-10 votes to hit the front page(i’m sure it won’t always be like that though)
.-= Josiah@youtube backgrounds´s last blog ..Michael Jackson =-.
That’s probably a good reason to get in on the action early so as to maximize on the results.
I installed it this week and lobe it. Previously, I had the Tweetmeme button, but replaced it ASAP.
I just wished Twittley had more categories to choose from.
.-= George Serradinho´s last blog ..Great posts for the month of June 2009 =-.
Actually George, you make a very good point. The amount of categories you can choose from is sorely lacking. I’m sure that they will rectify this pretty quickly.
In regards to the Twittley categories I will tell you that when I had one of my guys contact them to add the MMA category it was done within minutes.
They are listening, I would tell them what you would like to see.

Twitter has just taken off. The tool looks cool so i’ll check it out, thanks for the info!
No worries mark, helping others is what it’s all about.
Great plugin, I think I’ll install it too.
That’s great Ste, but if you want your comments to survive my inspection you are going to have to try that bit harder to leave something worthwhile. Please read my comment policy.
Sire, this is an awesome plugin. I’m going to install it today! The reasons you mentioned above are exactly why I haven’t installed a Digg button, there’s just not much point if you are a small site, but this has definite potential. Thanks for pointing it out!
.-= Trey – Swollen Thumb Entertainment´s last blog ..Your Comment Is Awaiting Moderation =-.
Trey, long time no see. Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment as that reminds me to do the same. As to the plugin, I’ve already got a whole swath of plugins and so this one had to be pretty special for me to install it as I see great potential for having one.
Another blogger gets the best twitter wordpress plugin. Whatch how your traffic rise. I clicked the button to vote for this post.
.-= Deneil Merritt´s last blog ..New Logo And eBook =-.
I’m here, I have my coffee, and I’m waiting for it to skyrocket, but people have to click it first.
They will come, give it some time. :)

Hey bro thank you for the mention, it put a smile on my face nice and early this morning :) I hope everyone likes the Twittley button, I get excellent results from it (thanks to good people like you).
.-= Extreme John@Extreme John Blogs and Business´s last blog ..R.I.P Steve McNair =-.
Not a problem John, if it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t have it and so it’s only fair I pass on some link luv.
Makes note to self to start incorporating my Twitter efforts into my blogging and website efforts. Nice recommendation.

Thanks Colleen, I aim to please.
I’ve seen a slightly smaller version of the same thing on other sites…if you look at personaldividends.com’s articles, they have it there. Same thing, or no?

It could well be the same one Bob as you can select between the one I’m using and a smaller sleeker one.
Just added it to Twittley :)

Thanks John, much appreciated mate.
Welcome to the Twittley movement. I made the switch about a week ago and I have seen great results. At least one of my posts has been on the front page since I started and am seeing my traffic improve..
.-= Tycoon Blogger @Promote your blog´s last blog ..Is Twittley better than Tweetmeme? =-.
Good job Tycoon. I am also going for that. thanks for sharing your experience.
Oh..I forgot to mention. I just Twittleyed (is that the word for it) this post..
.-= Tycoon Blogger @Promote your blog´s last blog ..Sunday’s Best- week ending July 5, 2009 =-.
Thanks for commenting Tycoon and for the Twittleyed, or whatever you call it.
As always I stand my opinion! The site is over rated!
A Community is nothing without it’s members!
If you don’t blog about Twittley good luck getting votes without friends!
Hey that sounded good right? I mean what makes Twitter is us. Me you and all the other bloggers posting comments here in this topic.
For generating good quality baclinkins now that the good stuff! Twittley is do follow so it’s like blogengage and passing the juice.
p.s. I’m bias come on :)
.-= bbrian017´s last blog ..To Blog Or Not To Blog, That Is The Question =-.
As usual you are right…..to and extent. You know how much I love Blog Engage, I’ve done some posts on it, but the main difference is that if someone who has a large twitter following clicks on the Twittley button you are bound to get a whole lot more exposure than normal.
100% agree! But if you were smart Sire you would be using http://tweetmeme.com
.-= bbrian017´s last blog ..The Landing Page System =-.
What are you saying Brian, that I am not smart
Just kidding mate, I know where you are at. Honestly, although I have never tried tweetmeme, I’ve seen several bloggers who have switched from that to Twittley. Perhaps you could enlighten me as to why you believe tweetmeme to be better?
Use both!
You know after I posted that comment I was looking for your edit option but it wasn’t there!
I was like hmmm that came of totally wrong! Thanks goodness your a great guy!
To be frank don’t use any! Simply use blogengage!
FYI that was another joke!
.-= bbrian017´s last blog ..The Landing Page System =-.
No worries mate. Strange that button didn’t appear. Maybe it wanted you to get in trouble but didn’t take its masters good nature into account.
I just came across your post and installed it myself on me blog…thanks for the find!
I do have a concern about the fact it takes visitors to the Twittley site itself and NOT the Twitter site, but hey, if it generates more visibility for me, that’s a reasonable price to pay (ie, gain traffic for the providing company).
.-= Barbara Ling, Virtual Coach´s last blog ..Let’s share – Article marketing tips =-.
While it does take visitors to the Twittley site it also RT’s the post thereby doubling your exposure. Also Barbara while some people say they will stumble a post and don’t you did not take any credit for doing so and yet you did, and I really appreciate it.

Well Sire, you may have just solved a small problem I’ve been dealing with. I have the TweetMeme plugin installed and it works and looks good except on my front page. My theme just shows the code on the index page and it looks terrible. I’m hoping Twittley will work better with my theme. I did just get an error when I tried to tweet your post but I’ll try again.
I hope it works for you Brian and thanks for the Tweet
@Brian D. Hawkins I’ve gotten so many errors tweeting! It seems to be an issue after I leave the twitter allow api page!
.-= bbrian017´s last blog ..Daily Blog Contest Contest =-.
This must be my week for errors. I’m getting them everywhere. Even on the Comluv while posting this comment and on every other site I comment on.
And to think it’s not even Friday the 13th yet
Yeah I totally second that! Twitter does not compare to Digg. With Digg you have to really work on the right network of followers, etc, etc. With Twitter it is so easy and friendly and fast, anyone can do it!
That’s right Evita, all it takes is a good post, a Twittley button and someone to click it.
I just added it to my website. Now I am going to work extra hard to write posts worthy of of people Twitting them.
Thanks for the tip.

Ok. You got me convinced about this twittley plugin. I’m downloading it right now. I’ve recently been increasing my circle of blogs to read everyday. I found yours today. The idea proved to be good because you’ll never know what gems you missed if I keep my circle small.
And you’re right about extremejohn. Like I’ve written in a comment in some other blog, I’ll be giving my flexibility2- themed blog a facelift soon. It shall include a blogroll. I’m sure to include extremejohn there.
.-= james m (new moon)´s last blog ..Stephenie Meyer’s New Moon =-.
Hi James, so you use Flexibility2, that means that giving it a face lift will be relatively easy. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
I didn’t know Twitter is so important in blogging issue. I always thought that it’s just kinda “me and You” discuss between the blog-creator, and the blog-commentator. I understand that this has a lot in common with SEO ideas of making blog more popular, but I still do not fully recognize the influence of Twitter on Your site traffic.
.-= pozycjonowanie poznań´s last blog ..Odsiwiacz =-.
Well Pozy, I perhaps if you think of Twitter as a gossip column and Twittley as a bunch of women helping to spread the gossip via their close knit group of Twitterers. If one comes across something juicy, they spread the word thereby increasing traffic as their friend stop by to see what all the twittering is about.
Just wanted to let everyone know that the new Twittley is out with a new look and a ton of new features. Have a look and be sure to help spread the word!
Thanks,
Joey
