I’m going to show you one of my jokes that has failed to make an impression on YouTube.
Professor Who Tells Dirty Jokes
I love doing shorts and I have explained why in my post about Why I Love Doing Shorts. Some go really well and others don’t. Like my Professor Who Tells Dirty jokes. I published this joke on the same day, 6th of April, on Facebook. On YouTube it has 12 views whereas on FaceBook it’s has 245 views.
Unlike normal videos on YouTube you don’t get to choose a thumbnail so you have to rely on using the right title and keywords. I use the help of TubeBuddy to ensure I get that job done properly and for the majority of occasions TubeBuddy helps me to choose great titles, But unfortunately even TubeBuddy can’t tell how YouTubes algorithms will work.
As you can see in the image above my selection of the heading Funny Jokes That Don’t Make It, got a 100% score. Technically it should be showing at the top or close to it when searching for Funny Jokes That Don’t Make It. Looking at the image above the crap YouTube is showing is not even related to the search term. Who knows why.
So, if this happens to you, don’t get disheartened. Just keep trying because there are times when YouTube does the right thing by paying attention to the actual search terms.
