Final Stats For 2009 December Was A Surprise

Isn’t it funny that although we are into the new year, one of my first posts is about something that happened last year. It is in fact the statistics for December 2009. I’m actually quite surprised by them because I thought, seeing as how it was leading up to Christmas and all, that they would be quite low.

As you can see Adsense was up a fraction and although I would like it to be a lot higher I’m pretty stoked with anything that comes my way considering I don’t bother all that much with SEO and keywords etc.

Voxsant went up to two cents which is 100% increase :lol_tb: and before anyone goes telling me it’s not worth keeping I use them for the content they provide rather than the monetary value.

  • Adsense: $36.84
  • Voxsant: $0.02
  • Clix Galore: $0.42
  • Chitika: $0.71
  • Infolinks: $1.05
  • Advertisers: $70
  • Commission Junction: $0.0
  • E-Junkie: $39.00
  • Jumbo Affiliates: $39.83
  • RegNow: $0.00
  • Paid Posts: $90.00
  • Commission Monster: $14.11
  • Amazon Associates: $0.00
  • CashBurners: $0.00

TOTAL: $291.98

Looking through those I notice that E-Junkie is pretty consistent and that Jumbo Affiliates performed rather well, probably because of all the jackpots this month. Even though Amazon didn’t make any sales it generated a lot more clicks because of ad placements and I reckon they may perform better this year.

I also did a lot better with advertisers, so perhaps they’re starting to realize the benefits of advertising on WassupBlog. Paid posts were also up and that’s cool considering the few I took were the pick of the bunch as I knocked back over $200 worth of tasks.

So, that’s probably the last stats report that I’ll be doing as I don’t expect to be doing these posts this year.

  1. That is not really bad Sire, it’s not quite “pro-blogger” but I would bet by this time next year you will be close.

My need-information site made $6 off adsense, ans $.01 off infolinks, not too bad for a 2 week old site though….

Just added a couple more affiliates this weekend so we will see how they do.

    1. Considering the age of you blog Keith I would say that was pretty damn good mate.

As to Problogger by end of the year, I can’t see it happening for awhile mate. Those guys have huge email lists and stuff that they pester people with. I’m not into that at all. It’s too much like shoving your foot in the door while trying to make a sale.

  2. What paid post site do you use?
.-= Rose´s last blog ..Generate Traffic to your blog =-.

    1. Rose I’m a member of quite a few sites, but I don’t frequent them much anymore. I tend to wait until someone contacts me for a post. That month I did tasks for Blogsvertise, SocialSpark and PayPerPost4.

      1. Does Blogsvertise pay you on time? I had a few issues at the start.
.-= Rose´s last blog ..Generate Traffic to your blog =-.

        1. Never had a problem Rose.

          1. Lucky you.

  3. Okay, so you made over $100. That’s a great start. Let’s see if you can add another zero on to that by December 2010. Good luck, Sire!

    1. Only one zero Gordie? :lol_tb:

  4. Congratulations. That looks successful to me.
The paid posts seem to be something that you must be quite good at..
.-= Glen´s last blog ..Bringing In the New Year =-.

    1. I’m better at it now than I was Glen. Some people are against doing paid posts but I’ve never had a problem with it.

      1. What exactly are paid posts anyways?

  5. Congratulations Sire and Happy New Year!

“Isn’t it funny that although we are into the new year, one of my first posts is about something that happened last year.”

Actually, January was named after Janus, a deity with 2 faces, one in front and the other at the back. January therefore is a month that looks back to the past and forward to the future. So, your first post is actually a quick look at the past. :)
.-= James Moralde´s last blog ..Smooth Link Scrolling =-.

    1. Imagine that, the first new thing that I learned this year and I owe it all to you. Thanks James.

  6. Congratulations Sire! $0.0 from Commission Junction? Hey thats the same as me :) You got great content here and thats all that matters.

I saw your comment above regarding mailing lists and kinda feel the same way. I know people make money creating mailing lists and sending out stuff every once and a while, but when I get these emails I feel like they are inpersonal and you can tell right away they are trying to sell you something. Its probably the way to make money, but I don’t know if I’d want to go that way.

    Keep up the great work!
.-= Jim Hardin´s last blog ..Passionate WordPress Blog Bread =-.

    1. Yeah, I’m probably not thrilled with those mail lists because I used to be a salesman some years ago, and all I can say is that I’ve seen how some of those sharks worked. I probably didn’t get as many sales as those guys but at least I slept well at night.

  7. Really Good work there sire. Keep up the great work. Thanks Greg Ellison

  8. Amazon Affiliates has a lot of real estate in your side bar. I haven’t gone back and looked at other months, but I wonder if something could go there that’s much better for the eyes, and earn more? I am not sure. I don’t make much money from any advertising – I have buysell ads up but no takers. I need to go out and contact people to see if they are interested.

I just wondered if you thought about real estate vs income from it right now?
.-= Scott Webb´s last blog ..Annual Review 2009: My Top Photographs of the Year =-.

    1. I’ve only really started pushing them last month Scott, so now I have them appearing in my sidebar as well as many of my posts. Where I used to get about 1 or two clicks last month I got over 30. That’s a pretty big jump.

No sales though, but early days yet.

  9. And here I am kicking myself as I made a few music purchases from Amazon today for my son [not a lot of $$, but something all the same] and I didn’t remember to click on anyone’s affiliate link. :jittery_tb: I enjoy seeing what people are making and how they are making it, but won’t harass you [too much] if you stop. I mean, why do something if you are not enjoying doing it [smells a little like a resolution to me]. :blink_tb:

  11. Hey Sire, I enjoy reading your stats. Some bloggers post their monthly stats, and don’t have “real” content at the same time, so that gets boring. In your case though, you post good content pretty consistently, so I like to read the stats.

And you’re doing better than the last time I read your stats, so kudos to you. Let’s hope for an ever better January!

    1. Too much work and there’s no enjoyment in it. I could continue it this year if I thought there was a demand for it.

  12. That is a good month Sire, I do not even know what Voxscant is…I would also be interested in learning more about e-junkie and jumbo affiliates as they seem to be doing well for you. Right now I am making most of my money from adsense and paid posts.
.-= Tycoon Blogger @money blog´s last blog ..Getting To First Page Of Google =-.

    1. Sounds like a great idea for a future post. As to voxsant, I’m sure I did a post around here somewhere.

  13. You mention E-junkie. Are you an affiliate for them as is or are you selling something using them?
.-= Dennis Edell´s last blog ..PLEASE COMMENT – Have You EVER Used The Added Feature Of My Subscribe To Comments Plugin?? =-.

    1. E-Junkie is used by the guy marketing FlexSqueeze, which as you know is the main theme I use for my blogs.

      1. Still a bit confused. So that’s money made from selling flexsqueeze or from ejunkie itself?
.-= Dennis Edell´s last blog ..PLEASE COMMENT – Have You EVER Used The Added Feature Of My Subscribe To Comments Plugin?? =-.

        1. From selling Flezsqueeze. Ejunkie is the medium the author uses to sell his product, just as how some would use commission junction.

          1. OK I guess it was just your differentness that confused me…I would have assumed most would have listed it as flexsqueeze, and not the program used to sell it. lol
.-= Dennis Edell´s last blog ..PLEASE COMMENT – Have You EVER Used The Added Feature Of My Subscribe To Comments Plugin?? =-.

            1. Yeah, well it is what it is. They actually have a lot of other products, I just haven’t taken the time to check them all out yet.

            2. I’m hooked up withj a couple through e-junkie also; just haven’t promoted them, yet.
