Making Money Online

Unlocking the world to financial success requires the right tools. Lacking the proper tools makes the journey that much harder and takes that much longer

I am going to show you the tools that I use, tools that actually improve your chances of making money online. Simply scroll through to learn which tools can help increase your online income!

Choose A Professional Theme

When blogging for money the most important item on your list should be a professional theme because like it or not they're going to judge you on how your blog looks. If you're like me you will want a theme that not only looks good it has to be easy to use as well.

I use the FlexSqueeze theme because I found it can do all the things I wanted it to do. This post gives you a sample of what FlexSqueeze is capable of.

Making Money With Amazon

The reason many people join Amazon as an affiliate is because of the range of products they have available for sale. My tool of choice as an Amazon affiliate would have to be WPZon Builder!

The post Why I Love WP Zon Builder gives you a sample of what this exceptional plugin is capable of. In short the main positives would have to be the ease of use and the ability to import the customer reviews into your post.

Choosing The Right Affiliate

Most people who make money online have hit on the right affiliate to promote. This particular Post will direct you to other posts that highlight some of the ways that I have made money online!

They also say the secret to making money online is choosing the right niche. One of the niches I've chosen to add to my online income has to do with the growing Online Lottery industry.

Necessity is the mother of invention. This is a well known proverb that can be applied to many things in life, including blogging. It basically means that whenever someone finds a need for something, if that need is great enough he will find a way of fulfilling that need.

One avenue of blogging where this is clearly displayed is the creation of all the great plugins that we use in our blogs. This can be anything from Andy’s Commentluv to Microkid’s related posts. They can save us time by simplifying tasks, they can improve the SEO of our blog or they can even reward those who take the time to comment on our blogs.

As bloggers our greatest need would be to get others to visit our blog. It doesn’t matter if you’re blogging for money or if you’re doing it just for the love of it, unless people are coming to your blog it all becomes pretty pointless. Our need is therefore quite obvious, we need to generate traffic.

Unfortunately it’s going to take more than a few plugins to achieve that goal. I’m afraid that I am going to disappoint a lot of you right now, especially if you thought this post was going to reveal an easy answer to all your traffic woes. I’ll leave that to the many squeeze pages on the subject, for the rest of us, we’re going to have to roll up our sleeves and get to work. Let’s keep one thing in mind though, and that is that we love the work we do, which is why we can throw so much into it and because it’s our passion to write and to succeed that is going to see us through.

The one thing that I do that brings a fair bit of traffic is commenting on other peoples blogs. I’ve found that by leaving constructive comments I get quite a few people coming here to see what else I have to offer. Knowing that to be the case all that is left is to Find The Right Blogs To Comment On.

While commenting is a good start, one of the major sources of traffic would have to be the search engines. As long as you provide the right food for the spiders the search engines can become your best friend as far as traffic is concerned. One way to get noticed by those guys is by getting a nice set of backlinks to your blog and instead of divulging my meager knowledge on the subject I’m going to send you to site that is going to tell you Everything You Need To Know About Backlinks! This is a pretty comprehensive post, complete with several instructional videos, and it may take more than one sitting to assimilate everything but it’s going to be worth it.

OK, I’m not one who likes to sit through a session where there is a possibility for information overload, so I’m not going to put you guys through it either. To finish off I would love it, and I think you will appreciate it as well, if you were to watch this small clip, one that shows you exactly how necessity is the mother of invention.

Three Ways To Increase Your Ad Space Earnings

I reckon it’s pretty safe to say that a lot of bloggers out there would love to increase their blog’s earning capacity.  Some choose to do paid posts while others will promote their affiliates . Almost all bloggers use Google Adsense but I bet there are also a whole heap of bloggers who would love to sell some advertising space on their blogs.

I know this to be true because I’ve seen so many blogs doing it. The only problem is that I believe most of them are going about it all wrong. I’m pretty sure that most visitors that happen on their blog don’t even know that their are ad space available.

I thought that seeing how I now have a PR4 blog, now would be a great time to promote my own ad spaces, and this is how I plan to do it.

  1. Advertise Page: I think this is essential part of your sales plan as it will tell prospective clients why they should spend their hard earned cash to purchase an ad space on your blog. This page can be likened to a squeeze or sales page. Apart from blatantly promoting the positive aspects of your blog, it would also be a great idea to inform them of the cost of doing business with you.
  2. Contact Page: This is also essential in case someone wants to ask you a specific question.
  3. Customer Service: As you can not physically be there you will need something that will automate the whole process of selling the ad space to your customer. This can be considered customer service. Without this, it can be likened to a shop full of customers with not a single salesman to make the sale. If a customer can’t find what he wants they will simply leave and you will lose the sale. I’ve found the ideal product to fulfill this important function. It’s called OIOpublisher.

Although OIOpublisher is not free it is worth every cent as it gives you complete control and you get to keep all the revenue raised. You can even use it to display your own affiliate ads with the knowledge that it will displace those ads whenever someone pays to place an ad on your blog. Whilst it can be placed on any site that uses PHP and for those of us who are smart enough to use WordPress, you get a handy plugin that is loaded with features.

Rather that rehash all it’s features it’s probably best to visit OIOpublisher website.  As to the cost, it is a low $47, but once it is up and running it shouldn’t take you long to recoup the money. Actually they are running a little promotion during the month of November. If you buy one this month and quote the following coupon code: FAWKES-WASSUP, you will receive $10 off the price, bringing it down to an affordable $37.

While I haven’t made a fortune with OIOpublisher I can safely say that until this post and my Advertising Here page, I haven’t really tried. Even so, I’ve made enough to cover it’s cost. so everything from here on is profit.

WassupBlog Alive And Kicking After Transfering To BlueHost

First off I would like to send a special thank you to everyone who either Tweeted or emailed me voicing their concern over WassupBlog being suspended. As I explained to them it all happened one morning whilst checking to see whether there were any updates to the comments section that I discovered my account had been suspended. :bigsurprise_ee: It wasn’t long after that I realized that everything hosted on that site was also suspended, so the host virtually cut me off.

I immediately sent an email and soon after received a reply that WassupBlog was using too much CPU. OK I said, if that’s the case why suspend my other blogs. He then reinstated everything but this one. I then proceeded to look for another host to move my prized blog to. I decided on BlueHost. Seeing as how I’ve been promoting it on my header for so long I thought it only fair that I should put it through it’s paces.

I migrated the blog over, making sure that I backed up all the databases and everything seemed to go without a hitch until I tried to access the admin pane. Nothing! I mean after trying to log in all I got was a blank page. :jittery_tb:

Googling was of no use so I finally decided to bit the bullet and call the help desk. Out comes my trusty iPod Touch, and with the help of the Skype application I rang the tech guys. I got hold of Lane who tried for over an hour to get everything working, and I went through different stages of euphoria and depression as I saw parts of my blog working and then not working. In the end Lane said he could do all he could do and that perhaps it was a WordPress issue. I thanked him and went to bed, as it was in the early hours of the morning, but only after using FileZilla to FTP the latest WP files overwriting the existing ones, in the hope that it may replace a corrupt file that eventuated because of the migration.

Bluehost.com Web Hosting $6.95

Upon waking I went straight to the computer only to find nothing had changed, :wallbash_tb: so it wasn’t a corrupt file issue. Then began a trial and error campaign in search of whatever was causing the problem.
To cut a long story short, the WP-Super Cache plugin, upon activation, creates two files, advanced-cache.php and wp-cache-config.php. When I renamed these files everything worked, and when I restored them it didn’t, and so I deleted the damn things. :guns_tb:

This deactivated the plugin, and so with some trepidation I reactivated it and kept my fingers crossed. :thumbup_tb: You bloody beauty, it worked. :clap_tb: Reactivating the plugin recreated those two files so I can only assume the ones I deleted were corrupt or something. Anyway, the blog’s up and running again and I can finally start to relax a little.

I have to admit it was a pleasant experience getting some technical help, even though he wasn’t able to do anything it was pretty cool that he spent so much time trying to resolve my issue. I have a feeling WassupBlog is going to enjoy it’s new host.

Blog Me This You Blogging Fools

OK my blogging mates, I think it’s time that I tempt fate by writing another of my poems, and seeing as how What Bloggers Do was so popular I thought that I would use this one to pass on a little link love, that and a very important message! In case you didn’t get it, if you haven’t got the ‘Subscribe To Comments‘ plugin I seriously suggest you put it on the ‘To Do’ list. OK, enough with the commentary, it’s time to read the poetry.

Blog me this you blogging fool
Are you using the right blogging tools
Subscribe To Comments you need for sure
This plugin should be part of your plugin core

Why this plugin I hear you ask?
For your commenter’s it’s less of a task
To remind them when someone replies
They will love it, I tell you no lies

There’s many a blogger wise and true
Who’ve made this plugin part of their crew
They know that those who left a comment
Would love to know of added content

There’s many a blog I will read
And Leaving a comment is part of my creed
But unless I’m reminded of what I’ve left
That post of further comments will be bereft

There are many blogs I love to read
And of these blogs I must concede
They see me more than the rest
Because in this plugin they did invest

TycoonBlogger, he’s no fool
Using this plugin makes him cool
He loves to hand out blogging tips
And this ones about adding a video clip.

Stratos I’ve know for quite awhile
There’s more than one post that I’ve found worthwhile
If you can’t find a plugin to get the job done
Stratos is the man that can make you one

Embracing Home, I have only just found
Her blog is based on very firm ground
More than just letting God’s light shining
Learn also how to lose weight while dining

Bunny Got Blog is not about bunnies
Nor is it about how to make money
Oriented around business you will find it hot
But careful you must be or she’ll kick your bots

Not been to iblogZone, well your missing out
This blogging man has without a doubt
Many a post that does more than instruct you
He even posts on how to increase Adsense revenue

More in common than the plugin they use
These bloggers on this blog to comment they choose
If you wish to feature in a poem one day
Perhaps more than reading you should have your say

If this poem you did enjoy
Then I’d love if you did employ
To give it a stumble, tweet or a digg
Or perhaps another of your social gigs :wink_ee:

A Twitter Service You’d Be Crazy To Miss Out On

Remember my post on The 10 Stages Of A Twitterer where I basically, tongue in cheek, went through the different stages of life as a twitterer? Well thanks to Stratos of stratos.me I’ve installed a brand new WordPress plugin called Tweetscribe Me. I am so impressed with this plugin that I am actually going to make a small donation to the bloke who developed it as I think it is well deserved.

In a nutshell, what the plugin does is it allows you to get DM’d (that’s a Direct Message) via Twitter every time someone that you have subscribed to, via Tweetscribe Me, publishes a new post. Naturally they also get DM’d eveytime you publish a new post. Can you see the potential? I certainly did which is why I was the first one to test out this great plugin. Now let’s makes something quite clear. This dose not meant that you will get notified every time one of your Twitter followers published a post, heck that would drive me up the wall and I wouldn’t be pushing this plugin at all. Only those that you have subscribed to via Tweetscribe Me will be notified and you don’t even have to be following them on Twitter.

I know that you are probably thinking that this is the same as Tweet My Blog, but it isn’t as that plugin only sends out a general tweet to your followers, who if are not on line generally never get to see it. Tweetscribe Me will email them directly, DM them or both depending how you set it up. There is no way anyone can miss out on updates from any of the bloggers they have subscribed too. This is so much better than RSS readers as once again you have to physically run your RSS reader just to see what folks have been up to.

So, how do you get into the action? Man I am so glad you asked, because this Aussie blogger is just bustin at the seems to let everyone know how they can get instant tweeting gratification. Man, it’s almost better than sex. I did say almost.  :laugh_tb: OK, Just follow the these steps in the order that I’ve presented them. This is very important.

  1. You have to follow twscribe, because if you don’t it won’t work.
  2. Download the Tweetscribe Me plugin and install it to your WordPress Blog.
  3. Activate the plugin and then got to the plugin settings where you fill in your Twitter user name and password and click the save button.
  4. Go to the Tweetscribe Me site and log in, once again with your Twitter details.

That’s all there is to it. Check out the enlisted blogs to find out who else is using the TweetScribe Me and subscribe to those you want to follow. You will be notified when someone subscribes to you and even when they unsubscribe. This is so much better than feedburner and the like because you can actually see who is following you. You can even display the amount of people following you by pasting a code into your sidebar. You can see mine on the right sidebar under the ‘Plug This Blog’ heading

At the moment members are few as this is brand spanking new, so we really need to get folks interested in it.  So I am looking for you guys to join up as this is going to revolutionize the way we utilize Twitter. Tell everyone you know about it so that we can really get this going. The more members we have the greater selection of bloggers to choose from.
