What Steps Have You Taken To Prevent Identity Theft?

Having our website or blog hacked by some lowlife scum would have to be one of our greatest fears. There are many ways that they could do this including placing malicious code on the blog, linking to sites of disrepute or horror of horrors corrupting the database causing us to lose everything. All that hard work gone to waste! There is something that is so much worse though and unfortunately the Internet has increased this problem astronomically. Of course I am talking about identity theft and this problem is so huge that an industry has grown around identity theft protection. While I’ve talked so much about this on one of my other blogs those posts can only serve as a warning to others. Unfortunately warnings may not be enough and perhaps for some people it would probably be best to be more proactive by taking advantage of sites such as IdentityHawk. Almost anyone is at risk of identity theft especially those who spend a lot of time on the internet. Unfortunately for the average person you have no way of knowing if you have been compromised until its too late. According to the guys at IdentityHawk they offer service that differs from others in that where others inform you after you’ve been targeted they can prevent it from ever happening. There are certain things that you can do to prevent identity theft and these include.

  • Do not throw anything in the bin that has personal information, especially thingsPhishing Effect like bank statements and bills etc. Paper shredders are quite cheap these days and having one would be a great investment.
  • Do not give any personal information over the phone. There are many scam artists out there pretending to be someone they’re not just to trick you into telling them your details.
  • Make sure when using ATM machines that no-one is looking over your shoulders.
  • Do not sell or give away your old computer before wiping everything on it.
  • Do not fall prey to emails that tell you some account or other has been compromised and that you have to log on via the link in the email to confirm your details. These emails are known as phishing emails and their purpose is to solicit your personal information from you.

There are a lot of things that you can and should do to protect your identity, both online and offline and I would love it if you would share with us some of the steps you have taken to protect your identity!

In Search Of The Right SEO Company

If I was to ask you what the one thing was that every webmaster or blogger craved for I wonder what your answer would be. WOW! You won’t believe this but I just had this mental image of a whole lot of you screaming “Money! We want to line our pockets with money!” I have to admit I understand where you’re coming from, but you all know that’s not going to happen unless you have a whole heap of traffic. It doesn’t matter how good your blog or website is, without traffic its lying dead in the water, or in this case, cyberspace.

So, where do we get this traffic from? Well, when you consider that almost 80% of surfers use one of the major search engines to find what their looking for, the main one being Google, then it’s obvious that you want to achieve top google rankings, and by top I mean you want your site to be in the top ten because that’s where most people commence their search from.

The problem that most people have is they don’t know how to achieve this, a task which is made all the more difficult by the search engines changing algorithm. What they need is a SEO company that will do all the work for them. Now there are a lot out there that will beat their chest saying to the world that they offer the best SEM services (Search Engine Marketing) out there so it’s no easy task to find the right one for you. But then we all know that life was not meant to be easy so it will be up to you to do the research.

You can ask around to see what SEO companies other webmasters or bloggers are using, and you can also use the search engines to see who they recommend. Once you’ve narrowed it down to a select few you will need to have a chat with them and it’s then that you need to ask all the right questions. John F Kennedy once said “ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.” Well in this case you need to ask the particular SEO firm what they can do for you. It may even include the construction of some Ecommerce website design or something entirely different. You will certainly want to ask how they intend to get you in the top 10 of the search engines and you may even request that apart from your main site you also want your FaceBook Fan page and YouTube videos to appear there. Why not, the more exposure you get on the first page of Google the better, right?

You may even ask to see some of the work they’ve done for other clients and if they are as good as they say they will be more than happy to accommodate you. As always doing the homework fist will ensure that you make the right choice and making the right choice is the first step on your path to lining those pockets of yours with cash.

Get Your Exquisite White Painted Furniture Online

One of the many good things about the Internet is that, sometimes with a little bit of effort, you can find almost anything you’re looking for. Just say for example you were a little tired of some of your furniture, because you felt it no longer suited your decor. I mean we’ve all been to other people’s homes and have seen furniture that just didn’t fit. Maybe it’s the style, or perhaps it’s just the color.

What if you like quality wooden furniture but you don’t like the natural timber colors because it just doesn’t fit in. Do you give up? Nope, you go to the Internet and you do a search, let’s say for White Painted Furniture.

OK, we forget about the first two results because they’re paid adverts, and the next one is useless to us because we don’t want to paint what we have, we want new quality furniture. That leaves us with newenglandlifestyle.com, so we click on that link and where does it take us?

We land on a professionally designed website professing to offer their potential customers an exclusive range of white painted wood furniture. Exactly what we were looking for but this stuff is inspired by New England and designed in West Sussex, UK. Sounds even better doesn’t it.

So you do a little exploring and you find they do actually have some exquisite pieces of furniture, everything from white living room furniture to white tables. They even have traditional oak furniture. So you start to get a little excited until you find out that it’s based in England, and you figure damn, I don’t think they’re going to ship it to Australia. Oh well, there’s one consolation I suppose, at least those Yanks are going to miss out as well. :tongue_laugh_ee:

5 Killer Tips for Your Discount Marketing Strategy

As bloggers we hear quite a bit about marketing strategies, largely because most bloggers have something to market, if not their blog then it’s a product, an affiliate or even a service. As you would know there are many ways that people may use to get their product or service where it can be seen by others in the hope that they will eventually become customers.

Just the other day I was approached by a charming Aussie lass who asked if I would kindly help to promote her very unique marketing strategy. Seeing as how I’m not one to turn a pretty lady down I surprised myself by saying I would but only after I had a look at what she was offering. She kindly pointed me in the right direction and after giving it the once over I decided that I would succumb to her charms, and it’s to this end that I offer you, what I believe to be a very interesting sponsored post.

Are you considering using discount marketing as part of your business’s advertising strategy?

You must ensure that this form of promotional marketing is appropriate for your business’s brand image. It is also vital to plan whether your business can withstand the costs of this venture.

Any business considering a discount marketing strategy should take these tips into account.

1. Market a discount as another form of advertising.

Consider what incentive will work best for your particular consumer base: discount coupons, contests or free samples. Choose an advertising vehicle like direct mail, email or in-store that will not exceed your promotional budget.

2. Offer only what your business can afford.

Determine your reason for promotion and consider if you planning to discount an item as a loss leader to gain a larger consumer base. Ensure that you set your budget early on.

3. Set the target market.

By knowing exactly who your customers are, you can maintain control by offering an appropriate discount. You must know where and when your consumers will use your discount.

4. Ensure that all ground staff are aware of the discount!

Consumers will have an extremely negative experience if your staff doesn’t know what’s going on. This will turn them off your business. Ensure that staff also knows about the exact terms of expiry for your discount.

5. Keep testing!

Set specific goals and keep track of the feedback you are getting from your discount. If it is unsatisfactory, the discount is either not attractive enough or it is improperly targeting the consumer base.

I reckon there are a lot of people out there who think it’s a great idea to do all their printing themselves, especially considering the quality of printers and such. I mean, all you have to do is go out and purchase the right program and paper for your printing needs and your set to go, right? Wrong!

Take it from me, that’s what I thought when I first got into business. Off I went and I purchased the right software and stationary and I thought I was set for printing out some professional business cards. After days at the computer and much trial and error, the best I could come up with was amateurish to say the least. There was no way I even considered using them either because I wanted to impress my customers, not give them something to laugh at.

The problem is that as good as printers are these days they’re still nowhere as good as what the professional use. That’s why photos that you print at home tend to fade over time where photos that you’ve had printed professionally look as good today as the day you had them printed.

That was only business cards! After that there was no way I would ever attempt professional glossy brochures or flyers! What I learned the hard way was that if I needed professional printing done then I needed to have a professional working for me, one who used top quality equipment.

Business being what it is today there may be times when you need something done quickly, so it’s great that there are places like nextdayflyers.com who can guarantee that as long as print ready files are completed and approved by 6 PM PST they are printed and ready to ship out the next business day. If you live local, 18711 South Broadwick St. Rancho Dominguez, CA, you can even drop in an pick up your order.

I could go on and on but the best thing for anyone interested is to go online to see all they have to offer. You can design your job online or you can upload it to them in the knowledge that they will do their utmost to fulfill your needs.
