Choose A Professional Theme

When blogging for money the most important item on your list should be a professional theme because like it or not they're going to judge you on how your blog looks. If you're like me you will want a theme that not only looks good it has to be easy to use as well.

I use the FlexSqueeze theme because I found it can do all the things I wanted it to do. This post gives you a sample of what FlexSqueeze is capable of.

Making Money With Amazon

The reason many people join Amazon as an affiliate is because of the range of products they have available for sale. My tool of choice as an Amazon affiliate would have to be WPZon Builder!

The post Why I Love WP Zon Builder gives you a sample of what this exceptional plugin is capable of. In short the main positives would have to be the ease of use and the ability to import the customer reviews into your post.

Choosing The Right Affiliate

Most people who make money online have hit on the right affiliate to promote. This particular Post will direct you to other posts that highlight some of the ways that I have made money online!

They also say the secret to making money online is choosing the right niche. One of the niches I've chosen to add to my online income has to do with the growing Online Lottery industry.

Using Your Website As A Marketing Tool

I was lucky enough to get hold of an eBook written by Mitch, a well known blogger who amongst other blogs runs the popular I’m Just Sharing Blog, and I thought only fitting that I write a review of it.

In Mitch’s eBook, Using Your Website As A Marketing Tool, he outlines the importance a website can play as part of any marketing campaign and how as a small business you could be missing out on the huge potential by not having one.  Mitch also stresses that while it is important to have a website you don’t want one that is poorly designed or looks cheap, for obvious reasons.

Unlike some eBooks that I’ve read that tells you to do something but doesn’t tell you why you should do it this eBook states reasons for why things should be done, starting off with the reasons as to why you should have a website. I find that this will be more acceptable to the average reader as the reason for getting any book is to learn all the ins and outs.

Mitch then asks the same question but states that perhaps some people shouldn’t have a website. At first I found this a little unusual, but once I started reading I understood what Mitch was getting at. There’s a fair bit involved with having a good website and that perhaps some people could not afford to have a professionally designed one. Rather than opt for a cheesy cheap one they’d be better off not having one at all.

The eBook then goes on to explain everything that’s involved in owning and maintaining a good website. Something that everyone who is thinking of starting one should know. You will learn about domains and their relative costs, hosting and even the importance of design, with some samples thrown in for good measure.

Considering it’s just over 50 pages long Mitch has managed to put a fair bit of information into the eBook, including simple HTML coding, discussing CSS, SEO, Keywords, just about everything you need to know if you were thinking of starting your own website.

What this book doesn’t do is to show you how to actually build a website from scratch. What it does do is show you what’s involved in having a website and how a good website can help your marketing strategy. Armed with this book you will have a better idea as to what avenue to follow when the time comes for you to have your own website.

Your Chance At Achieving SEO Mastery

In May of this year I did a post called Wassup Blogs You Beaut Huge Link Love Fest and amongst all the links I shared was a very prominent blogger who goes by the name of Nicolas Prudhon. Those of you who have read his blog SEO Help by Nicolas Prudhon know first hand what a wealth of information the man loves to share with his readers.

Naturally I am always exited when I come across an opportunity that may offer my readers some sort of boon, whether it be another way of making money, improving their day by offering some light entertainment, or as the case is in this post, to tell them about a competition that will win them a position in his Advanced SEO Mastery Program. If you’re not familiar with Nicolas’ work you should read his guest post How SEO Helped Me Retire Rich Early as it is quite informative.

[eminimall]

The rules are quite simple, and you can read all about how easy it is to enter the contest by going to his Advanced SEO Mastery Contest post. Entering the contest and following the rules will show Nicolas how dedicated you are to blogging and will take you that extra step in helping you to fulfill your blogging dream.

It’s not often that a chance like this will come your way, and you don’t want to miss out on this opportunity. So don’t procrastinate, do yourself a favor and go and see how easy it really is to enter the contest, and perhaps you will be the one to have SEO Mastery finally in your grasp. Just remember to tell him that Sire sent you. :smile2_ee:

Noel Biderman Vs Top Sexual Aids

I once did a post called Shame On Noel Biderman For Promoting Adultery in which I game my opinion on his shameless site that promotes extra marital sex.  That post was on the first page of Google for quite awhile and it now sits on page 5 at 42 but if you Google Noel Biderman is bullshit it’s sits at no.1, and you’d be surprised how many people use that search term. Anyway, the man himself actually left a comment.

I think you need to face reality – people cheat – and they did so long before the advent of ashleymadison. As for your drug dealer analogy – the most abused substance out there is alcohol, which is responsible for the deaths of thousands of people each year – so, per your thesis, we should revisit a state of prohibition and pursue violent retribution to those executives who produce and distribute alcoholic “drinks”. Nice. I think it is your own pedestrian BS that needs some exposing…

[eminimall]

I thought the comment itself was pretty lame and I still can’t see the fact that people cheat is a good reason for someone to start up a site that actually promotes extra marital sex, a site that may actually lead a person to cheat who otherwise may never had done so without having that seed implanted into their mind. OH, and if anyone can explain to me what he meant by ‘pedestrian BS’ I would be eternally grateful.

Upon visiting the subject again I hit upon an idea for a new blog. Shocked huh? You’d figure that 8 blogs would be enough, and blog #9 is actually going to be a niche blog, something that I thought I would never do. I’ve always been against niche blogs because I felt I would find it too constricting but it never occurred to me that I could start up a blog about sex or to be more precise sexual aids, and so Top Sexual Aids was born.

I thought that perhaps one of the reasons that people look elsewhere for sex other than with their partner was because sex had lost that old spark. If a couple could reignite that spark using certain sexual aids such as sex toys, erotic massage oils or something else from the wide range of products on the market, then maybe that urge to stray would disappear.

Naturally I am using FlexSqueeze as the blog’s theme as it allowed me to give it that unique professional look. The domain name being what it is means that the blog is already #1 on Google for the search term ‘top sexual aids’ which will leave me free to concentrate on some other popular search terms, if I ever get to it. I don’t expect to do too many posts on it, I’m way too busy, but I reckon this is another blog I can have fun with.

Thesis Theme Is Just Not Flexible Enough

I did a post a little while back called My First Impression Of The Thesis Theme in which I outlined my disappointment in the theme itself. Whilst is was better than the majority of themes around it didn’t live up to expectations for one simple reason, that reason being, as far as I was concerned, it didn’t do what it said it would.

Not a coder? Not a problem. The Thesis option panels allow you to command your site with ease, while Thesis does all of the heavy lifting behind the scenes. You’ve never had this much control over your site before, and this is precisely what makes Thesis indispensable to critical webmasters all over the globe

After reading that I bought the theme thinking that now I would finally have complete control over how my blog would look. Now don’t get me wrong it did give me a lot more control than a lot of other themes, but as far as being a complete ‘plug and play’ package I found it sorely lacking. Naturally if you are a bit of a geek and like playing around with codes and things you can do a lot more with Thesis than other themes, but I, like a lot of other bloggers out there, am completely clueless when it comes to coding and I need a theme that is almost completely mouse driven. I need a truly flexible theme.

Well, I searched far and wide until finally I found what I consider to be the ultimate theme, the FlexSqueeze Theme! Once installed you simply go to the Theme  Option page and follow all the instructions. You can change almost every facet of the theme from the width of the theme to the width of your post content to your sidebars. The following is just some of the things that you can do with this theme. Read the rest of this entry

Of Web Hosts And Blogger Friends.

I’ve found that the hardest thing about choosing a Host for my blogs is that unless you follow someones recommendation you don’t really know how good any particular host is. Even when reading a review you sort of wonder as to how biased the author is. What is the motivation behind the post, is the author being honest or is he merely promoting another affiliate? Shit, he may not even use the host and the whole review is centered around the fact that it pays the best commission.

This brings me to the crux of this post. I want to talk about LunarPages, and yes that is an affiliate link but I figure if this post encourages someone to join then at least I will get some credit for it. I originally moved to LunarPages  from my Australian host because they were more price competitive and they were also offering a free domain for life. I have had no problems at all with them until recently when they moved me from my normal server because my CPU usage went through the roof.

WTF, was the first thing that popped into my head and I immediately started searching the net to find out what might be the cause. I happened to stumble across several comments left by others who were actually suspended by their hosts. It then came to me that LunarPages could have done the same thing to me and they would have every right to do so as my high CPU usage was affecting the performance of other uses sharing the same server. Instead of doing that, moved me to another server to give me time to solve the problem.

The trouble is that every time I make a particular change I have to wait 24hrs to find out if it has any effect. Luckily for me Stratos offered to help after I left a comment on his ‘When Things Get Extremely Wrong‘ post. Knowing how smart Stratos is, as he’s developed Blogger Buddy as well as some nifty WP plugins, I jumped at the chance. He has already worked out that I have too many plugins but is currently trying to suss out which ones are chewing up all the CPU. I have deleted the least necessary ones and have already noticed that the blog loads a lot faster. Hopefully the culprit was amongst those, I reckon I have to just wait and see.

Anyway, to cut a long story short I find myself lucky that LunarPages has at least given me the opportunity to fix the problem rather than just cut me off and leave me hanging, which apparently some other hosts are prone to do. I reckon that if I was based in the state and there wasn’t the time difference, I could have picked up the phone and talked to one of the technicians and we could have nipped the problem right in the bud, but being and Aussie I am stuck with conversing through emails. Lucky for me Stratos came to the rescue.
