Choose A Professional Theme

When blogging for money the most important item on your list should be a professional theme because like it or not they're going to judge you on how your blog looks. If you're like me you will want a theme that not only looks good it has to be easy to use as well.

I use the FlexSqueeze theme because I found it can do all the things I wanted it to do. This post gives you a sample of what FlexSqueeze is capable of.

Making Money With Amazon

The reason many people join Amazon as an affiliate is because of the range of products they have available for sale. My tool of choice as an Amazon affiliate would have to be WPZon Builder!

The post Why I Love WP Zon Builder gives you a sample of what this exceptional plugin is capable of. In short the main positives would have to be the ease of use and the ability to import the customer reviews into your post.

Choosing The Right Affiliate

Most people who make money online have hit on the right affiliate to promote. This particular Post will direct you to other posts that highlight some of the ways that I have made money online!

They also say the secret to making money online is choosing the right niche. One of the niches I've chosen to add to my online income has to do with the growing Online Lottery industry.

Giving A Bit Of Love To My Cool Blog Links Members

It’s been quite some time since I did a post giving the top ten members of Cool Blog Links a little bit of link luv. Actually when looking back I was surprised to find out that the last post, Cool Blog Links Top 10 Coolest Blogs, was written on the 29th of May 2010. Weird that because I honestly thought it was only a few months ago. Just goes to show how time flies when you’re having fun :day_dreaming:

When I did that post the site had a whole 19 members and in just under two years it has grown to a whopping 20 members. Yeah, you can all stop laughing because even though the numbers are low the members are all proud to be a part of Cool Blog Links. Anyway, without further ado here are the current Top Ten Coolest Blogs.

My Favourite Posts And Why I Liked Them

Even without doing any blog hopping I can just imagine all the blogs out there that are doing posts on new years resolution or about how you should be doing your business plans for the coming year. Not me! :smoke_tb:  Nope, I don’t do new years resolutions and I’ve never willingly done a business plan. Sure they’re a good idea to keep people focused and to help them with building a strategy to follow but they have never interested me.

I’m not even going to do a post about how things transpired last year because I covered that in my last post, A Recap Of 2011 And Best Wishes For 2012. Instead I want to write a post that may reveal a little about myself as well as giving my readers a chance to promote their favourite post.

My Favourite All Time Posts

I reckon that pretty well gives you an idea what this post will be about. I’m hoping that in sharing my favourite all time posts you may get an inkling of what sort of things appeal to me and in knowing that perhaps a little of what makes me tick.

OK, I reckon you’ve had enough of the posts that I like and you’re champing at the bit waiting to find out exactly how you get to promote your blog? Well, it’s quite simple really, all you have to do is to leave a comment linking to your favourite post while telling us why  it is that you love that post so much. Leaving just a link without a reasonable explanation will get your comment deleted so put a bit of thought into it. Remember that leaving a good comment will have more chance of getting others to read that post.

Oh, and you may want to tell me which of my posts, if any, you liked and why? :wink_ee:

Top 5 Reasons Why No-One Is Advertising On Your Blog

I know that not every blogger wants to monetize their blog, but I believe there are far more who do. And why shouldn’t they, there’s nothing wrong with making a little money while doing the thing you love. Those who do decide to monetize their blogs normally just place Google Adsense or Chango ads on their blog and they then sit back while waiting for that elusive click.

Others will set up a spot on the sidebar with an ‘Advertise Here’ heading but all you see are empty spaces. They sit there scratching their heads while crying rivers of tears over their keyboards because no-one’s buying any ads. Well cry no more guys because I’m here to tell you the top 5 reasons why no-one is advertising on your blogs.

  • Your Blog hasn’t been around long enough!
  • Honestly, if you’ve just started your blog you really shouldn’t monetize it straight away. Your best bet is to build up a good readership first and only then worry about selling advertising space. Don’t be disheartened if things start off slow at first because if you’re willing to put in a lot of hard work into it then it won’t be long before you can build up a respectable readership.Take Patricia of lavenderuses.com, her first post, About Me: All Things Lavender, was posted on March 27th! Yet in only a few short months she has built up a large readership and the amount of comments she gets could leave some probloggers shaking their heads in disbelief.
  • You Don’t Have A Contact Page!
  • Come on people, it’s not rocket science you know. An advertiser can’t contact you if there’s nothing on your blog that allows him to do so. There are may plugins that will allow you to do this. Personally I use Mike’s Fast Secure Contact Form.
  • You’re Not Selling Yourself
  • Most people who may want to advertise on your blog will need a reason to do so. You need to sell your blog to them. I constructed a special page that I called Advertise Here just so I can encourage advertisers to drop some of their hard earned cash into my waiting wallet. This is your virtual sales page, where you will list all the reasons why someone should advertise on your blog. You may want to mention your PR and Alexa rating. You could even stress that you are a consistent poster and how this had led to a large readership. This page should be so good that they can’t help themselves but to contact you for an advertising spot. Oh, one last thing, you’ll also want to mention what it will cost them for an ad..
  • Your Not Automated
  • Let’s face it, we live a busy world where time is money. There are times when an advertiser doesn’t want to go through all the hassle of contacting the blogger and discussing prices. Some will want an automated system that will let then place an ad automatically. This is where OIOpubliasher comes in. This plugin is a professional ad manager that will save you and the advertiser time, and I can vouch that it works. I have some advertisers that subscribe to a monthly rate and some that pay for months at a time. The best thing is that I don’t have to keep track of when they expire because it’s all done automatically! You can get $10 off this month if you use the following coupon XMASGIFT-WASSUP.
  • Leaving Empty Ad Spaces!
  • At the beginning of the post I mentioned those blogs that have all those empty ad spots waiting to be filled. Now why would someone outlay good money on your blog when he can see as plain as day that no-one else is willing to? Your solution is simple, fill those spots up with affiliate ads, heck you may even make a sale or two from them. If anything just leave one spot with an advertise here link as a juice bait..

Naturally there are other things like increasing traffic to your blog as traffic is a great sweetener for any advertiser. One of the reasons for me purchasing Market Samurai is so that I can build traffic to my niche sites.

It’s Time For A Little Link Luv

Every now and again I like to write a post where I link to blogs that I like. To be a little different I thought this time I would link to some new blogs that I’ve come across. Some of these may be relatively new and could do with a little extra help to get some extra readership and others piqued my interest so much that I wanted to share them with my valued readers.

As bloggers we must learn that blogging is about sharing and helping others. We share by writing down our thoughts and we help others by answering their questions, providing thoughtful and helpful articles and also by linking to their blogs.

The Personal Cook Files

Grace is the blogger behind this blog that tantalizes your taste buds. It’s probably a good idea to read her about page to get an idea of how the blog came about, I particularly liked the following line which sums it all up “This is a story of a marriage forged in food.”

The first post I happened to stumble on was Easy Pork Recipes: Spicy Sisig Recipe and I must say the photo of the meal really wet my taste buds, but the recipe did have a particular ingredient that would put me off from ordering it in a restaurant. A shame really how the knowledge of something can prevent you from savoring all that life has to offer. Sometimes you wonder if it’s just better not knowing. :innocent1_tb:

Morpho Designs

This blog belongs to Mitchell Allen and while I’ve seen his name on several of the blogs I’ve visited I don’t think that I’ve ever checked him out until he left a quality comment on one of my posts, so you see people, it does pay to leave good quality comments when you go blog hopping.

Thanks to commentluv the post I landed on was his Review Of Max Your Holiday Profits, an eBook written by Barbara Ling who I’m sure many of you are familiar with. Mitch, not to be confused with Mitch from I’m Just Sharing gave a concise review of the product with a very special offer to anyone who purchases it via his affiliate link.

New Biz Blogger

I don’t know what it is but for some reason I keep landing on blogs owned by pretty women. I’m sure it’s not my fault and it’s simply because there are more women bloggers than there are men. That may not be true but that’s my only excuse. :innocent1_tb:

Michelle Welch is a woman of many talents, her latest being that of a blogger. I stumbled onto Michelle via a Tweet sent to me by Kimberly of Just Ask Kim, another very good blogger. The tweet led me to a particular post, Care To Be Featured In An Ebook! This Ebook could be a marketing bonanza for all involved. She is taking submissions from bloggers to be included in the Ebook up until the 13th of Dec. so you still have a couple of days as of the writing of this post to be involved. Sorry this post is a little late but then all the more reason not to procrastinate and to act NOW.

Tek3D

This is basically a Technology blog but it is also infused with a lot of other useful information. One of his posts so captivated me that I immediately installed another plugin. Those who know me know that I tend to have too many plugins and so this had to be extra special for me to have installed yet another plugin.

The post I’m talking about is Display Next Post In New York Time Style, and you will see it kick into action as you scroll down near to the end of the post. Yep, it’s that ‘fly-out box’ that you see popping out from the right. It highlights the next post in the same category of the post you are currently reading. The whole idea being that it improves your bounce rate, and according to Tuan, the blog’s author, has worked for his blog.

Phew, that was a long blog post, especially for me. :tongue_rolleye_ee: I hope you guys visit those other blogs and tell them that Sire sent you so that I can get in good with the ladies :smile2_ee:, yeah, yeah, the guys too. :thumbup_tb:

Oh, in case you’re wondering how I did all those fancy colored blocks you can read all about it here.

How A Woman Made Me Change My Evil Ways

Hey guys, do you notice anything different about the blog? No? Well if you look again you may noticed that I have removed most of the ads. You know, I’ve lost track of the amount of people who have told me that my blog looked crappy because of the amount of ads I had placed on it. I reckon that if I had a dollar for every snide remark I could easily have purchased a carton of cold beer. :drunk_tb:

I’ve had them all, from newbies to A Listers, one A Lister even comparing Wassup to a Christmas tree. I’m not going to mention his name because I don’t want to be accused of link dropping for the sole purpose of getting traffic. Yep, I was actually accused of that when I wrote my post on why I no longer link to the likes of Problogger and John Chow, a post that didn’t link to either of them.

How to Get Ahead in Advertising

So, why did I remove them? It was because of a woman, and you all know how I love to please my women. :devil_tb: Yep, I can still remember the time when I pulled out all the plugs just to please Holly, another of my female commentators. You can read all about that in this post on how to remove InfoLinks from your comments.

Still, that is another story and this one belongs to another amazing woman, Kimberly and her post 31DBBB – Day 4 – Analyze a Top Blog In Your Niche where she honestly reviews three blogger, yours truly being one of them, and guess what what? She refers to the ads on my blog as clutter! So what makes her opinion different from all the others? Was it because she’s of the opposite sex :thumbup_tb: Well, all I can say is that her post moved me to the point where I just had to act, and if it made just one more woman happy then it was all worth while.

Seeing as how I’m talking about advertising on blogs I think it’s a good time to mention the OIOPublisher plugin, a plugin that automates all ad purchases on a blog, including text ads, banner ads, and paid reviews! Whats really good about it is that it frees up your time so that you can devote it to what is really important, writing good content. I think that because it’s completely automated it may allow potential advertisers to book a spot on your blog who may not have otherwise parted with their hard earned money.

While the plugin normally costs $47 you can get OIOPublisher for $37 by mentioning My Coupon: ‘SOLAR-WASSUP’ when purchasing it. This coupon is only valid till the end of August. There will probably be another coupon when that expires but I can’t say how much it will be worth. I know I delayed buying it for quite awhile and I admit it was a mistake because that decision probably cost me some sales.

If you decide to purchase the plugin I suggest that you create some sort of Advertise Here page where you explain to potential advertisers why they should purchase a spot from you. Don’t pay too much attention to my page as I put it together fairly quickly and it could really do with some major work. If you do a great job on this page the prospect of getting advertising dollars is greatly increased.

Pass 350-029 exam at first try using 70-296 study material including 1z0-521 dumps.
