Making Money Online

Unlocking the world to financial success requires the right tools. Lacking the proper tools makes the journey that much harder and takes that much longer

I am going to show you the tools that I use, tools that actually improve your chances of making money online. Simply scroll through to learn which tools can help increase your online income!

Choose A Professional Theme

When blogging for money the most important item on your list should be a professional theme because like it or not they're going to judge you on how your blog looks. If you're like me you will want a theme that not only looks good it has to be easy to use as well.

I use the FlexSqueeze theme because I found it can do all the things I wanted it to do. This post gives you a sample of what FlexSqueeze is capable of.

Making Money With Amazon

The reason many people join Amazon as an affiliate is because of the range of products they have available for sale. My tool of choice as an Amazon affiliate would have to be WPZon Builder!

The post Why I Love WP Zon Builder gives you a sample of what this exceptional plugin is capable of. In short the main positives would have to be the ease of use and the ability to import the customer reviews into your post.

Choosing The Right Affiliate

Most people who make money online have hit on the right affiliate to promote. This particular Post will direct you to other posts that highlight some of the ways that I have made money online!

They also say the secret to making money online is choosing the right niche. One of the niches I've chosen to add to my online income has to do with the growing Online Lottery industry.

Live For Today And Pay For It Tomorrow

I know of a lot of people who have the attitude that one should live life as if it was your last day. This seems to be so for many of the young of today and I think it could be a great mistake for the majority of them. My father’s opinion was the exact opposite, that a person should work his butt off whilst he was young and strong making sure that he set himself up for retirement.

I can see now how my father had the right attitude as he is living quite comfortably while a lot of others his age are struggling to make ends meet. Fortunately for me he passed on his values to his children. We were taught to make the best of our youth in regards to work and finances. We would never buy something we could not afford and would never throw money away just for the sake of keeping up with the guy next door. If we were earning more than we needed then we would keep it for a rainy day, and if we were lucky enough that the pile of money would grow, then we would look for wise investments.

I was wondering how the above example may have a direct analogical representation for a blogger and the first example that came to mind was in the amount of posts per day that a blogger may decide to actually post. I’ve noticed how some bloggers may post several posts per day and I just thought that it would probably be better to stagger them over a period of time. This is very easy to do for the WordPress blogger as it has a built in feature where you can post date each post.

I know that I have a limited amount of time that I allocate to myself to read other blogger’s posts and to respond to them. Therefore those bloggers who do several posts per day usually find that the majority of posts will largely go unnoticed, at least as far as I am concerned. It seems that the logical alternative would be to save these posts as drafts, sort of banking them, ready for later publication. This would have the added advantage of being able to proof read them properly at a later date making sure that upon publication, they are the best that they can be.

Another advantage of saving them for a rainy day, so to speak, is that they will be available for publication in emergencies when your blog would otherwise lie dormant while you handle whatever event has arisen in your life.

How To Deal With Rude And Obnoxious Commentators

It’s unfortunate, but every now and again we, as bloggers, will have some moron visit our blog that may take exception to what we wrote and then think that he has the right to abuse the crap out of us. There are some bloggers who may retaliate in kind but I think that this is the wrong approach as it merely brings us down to their level.

Take for example this particular post, that I did on one of my other blogs. It was obvious that this bloke was a racist pig and that I could have easily have retaliated, but if I did I would have merely added fuel to the fire. There was no way I was going to sway his opinions and it would have been a wast of time trying. If anything I reckon that being diplomatic about it actually infuriated him even more.

So, how do we treat these poor misbegotten slime balls that choose to flame our posts?

  1. Analyze the comment.  Does it deserve to see the light of day? You may decide that it doesn’t add anything to your post and that it is so obnoxious your only recourse is to delete it. I actually deleted a whole heap of that particular commentator’s comments.
  2. Do not respond in kind. That is one advantage of being a blogger, you can actually take the time to take a few breaths and calm down before responding to their comment.
  3. Be polite, civil and respectful. They may not deserve it, but it shows that you are bigger than they are. Perhaps they will calm down and put their argument, although I doubt it, in a more reasonable manner in which case you’ve shown that your course of action was the right one.
  4. Get Support. See if you can drum up some bloggers who support your view. Their comments may show the obnoxious commentator that he is actually in a minority causing them to rethink their views.
  5. Ban The Ass Hole. If all else fails and they continue to be a virtual pain in the ass, ban his IP address.

I reckon that some of you guys may have come up with some pretty cool ways of dealing with flaming jerks, and if this is so I would really appreciate some comments as others may find them very helpful.

Running Out Of Topics To Write About?

I don’t care how good a blogger, is I reckon that every now and again he or she is bound to come to a point that they have run out of ideas to write about. So what do you do when this happens? So you just sit there staring at the screen twiddling your thumbs or do you just write any piece of crap because you want to maintain your post quota?

The thing is that because there is always something going on in the world today it doesn’t take much to find an interesting topic to blog about. I use the Voxant News Room because they always have an interesting tidbit available. Take this satirical video where Candidate Sarah Palin calls Hillary Clinton asking for her support.

It’s funny and it is bound to raise some comment. Considering what a hot topic American Politics is at the moment you may even create a fair bit of interest with the search engines, but that is not the only reason that I use their service. Nope I use it because every time someone views the video or the news article, a little bit of cash gets deposited into my kitty.

I honestly love this site because it gives me access to a huge collection of video, text, and photos from over 300 news sources. Believe me, you need never be stuck for a topic again.

Smiling can imply a sense of humour and a stat...Image via Wikipedia

I’ve been on this Earth for nigh on 50 years and if there is one thing that I have learned it’s that people who love what they do generally do it well. There would be many examples of this in life from the checkout operator to the blogger. Those people who provide the best service generally do so because they love what they do and they aim to please, and in doing so get pleasure themselves.

Imagine all those times when you have approached someone behind a counter who sported the glummest of expressions, who  couldn’t even bring themselves to respond to a cheery hello. That is a typical example of someone who dislikes their job and doesn’t want to be there, let alone to be bothered by someone who has the audacity to interrupt their day just because they want to purchase something.

Well blogging can be a little like that and I reckon that those bloggers who do well are the ones who love to blog. If you find that blogging is getting to be too much of a chore and you dread the time when you have to come up with another post, then you simply will not come up with your best posts. This could be especially true for niche blogs, but I wouldn’t know because I’ve never had one.

For me blogging is more than a way to make a little extra cash. It’s become my favourite pass-time and a form of relaxation. The reason for this is because I try to make blogging a ‘fun’ experience. This wasn’t always so, it is something that I have developed with my newest blogs. These are some of the things that I introduce every now and again into my posts to create a little fun.

  1. The Dummy Post: I did a post called Penile Extensions Now Available Via The Penis Extender Deluxe on my Load Of BS blog which I hopefully structured into a type of ad promising people the perfect solution for a bigger, harder penis. The link takes them to a page that tells them they were duped and asking them to take a poll. So far 49 hits and 12 people have voted. it might be my weird sense of humor but I found it funny, especially some of the search terms that people used to get there.
  2. Satire: It’s Bullshit The Way Women Treat Men was another of my ‘having fun posts’ which actually got quite a few comments. There is so much that you can do with this topic, it’s bound to provide a lot of enjoyment
  3. Jokes: All my blogs have a joke category that I used to post anything that I find remotely funny. Tim, a great photographer, has made use of some pretty good jokes just to break things up a bit I almost fell off the chair because of his latest ‘joke‘ post.
  4. Share Something: This can be anything from something personal that brings you joy, the birth of a child perhaps, to sharing a favorite hobby such as some of those photos that you thought turned out pretty damn well. I’ve reckon that Kristi from Kikolani enjoys her blog immensely and she has some beautiful poetry and lovely photos mixed in with her posts.

Hopefully by incorporating some of these, or your own ideas, you may be able to breathe new life into your blogging world. Blogging should be more than just a job, it should be fun.

So, are you having fun blogging? If you are, what are you doing that makes it more enjoyable? If you think the whole idea sucks, heck I’d be interested to hear from you as well.

What Do You Do To Promote Trust From Your Readers?

Sire In The Flesh

My last post titled SezWho Promotes Interaction On Your Blog got an interesting comment by Brian of Domain Structure, who on a side note has a great list of sites who use the “do follow”, that basically states that providing an actual picture of myself, rather than a random avatar, would help to build trust with our readers. Whilst I agreed with him I said that the avatar I have used since the very beginning could almost be seen as part of my ‘branding’ and that I couldn’t possibly change it.

Then I got to thinking that perhaps Brian was right and there was a way around this dilemma. All I had to do was take a black and white photo of myself striking the same pose. So out comes my trusty Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX50 digital point and shoot camera and with the aid of my son Frank we took some photos. Unfortunately the flash wasn’t very becoming and even after playing around with Paint Shop Pro I still wasn’t satisfied.

Those that know me know that I am very impulsive and the only thing that I will wait patiently for is sex and that is only because that is the only way I will get any. So out comes the Sony DCR-SR300 digital camcorder which has a 6.1megapixels still photo capabilities. As my son had left by now and I didn’t want to bother him again, I mounted it on my new Manfrotto tripod and got ready for action.

The beauty about the Sony is that it comes with a remote control and I was able to zoom in and out whilst posing and after a couple of manipulations with the tripod I was ready to go. I then loaded the best of the photos onto the computer and with the help of Paint Shop Pro I produced a new avatar of yours truly as well as a new favicon.

As you can see from my new avatar I definitely have nothing up my sleeve and so the avatar just oozes trust worthiness, not to mention a fair amount of sexual appeal. My only problem now is to keep all the women from trying to contact me in order to gain sexual favors.
