Tips To Having A Successful Blog

Every new blogger craves tips to having a successful blog; otherwise, they wouldn’t be starting a blog, right? I repurposed today’s post from Neil Patel’s 7 Blogging Tips That Will Make Your Blog Successful (Storytelling Techniques) using Content Gorilla and Grammarly. I then used my blogging expertise to further refine it to what you are reading today.

My Tips To Having A Successful Blog

I think we all agree that blogging is trendy. Everyone’s doing it, probably more so today than ever. You may even be doing or thinking of taking it up. It is so popular that compared to five or ten years ago, there are so many blogs around that folk don’t seem to be reading all the blog posts. The bounce rate is probably so high because out of the eight out of ten people who will read your headline, only two out of ten will click through and read your article. People these days seem to be desensitized to blog posts. So much so they’re not reading them like they used to.

Most people who know me, or have noticed my interaction with the fairer sex, would probably tell you that there’s almost nothing I wouldn’t do to please them! That being the case you’re probably wondering what’s taking me so long in answering a fair maiden’s request.

That fair maiden was Colleen of Kennewick Real Estate who, in the post about Speeding Up Your Blog to keep Google and your readers happy, asked the following;

On an unrelated note Sire, a blog entry from you about the Digiprove you are using might be a good topic. Until now, I’ve never seen it nor heard of it. Just a thought, as I haven’t seen anything written on it or other ways to protect against content theft. Might be a good topic.

Update On Stolen Blog Content

This Update On Stolen Blog Content is a quick recap on my post, Has Your Blog Content Been Stolen. My first option was to leave a comment on each post demanding that they remove the posts. After several days not only were the comments never approved, the wanker even dared to steal more articles. I decided to take it further.

I contacted Netfirms, the site that hosted the blog telling them of my dilemma and they quickly replied that they needed more information, which was quite understandable as they want to make sure my claim is legitimate. I sent out the email with the required information, and within 24hrs, I received the following.

Has Your Blog Content Been Stolen?

The first thing I do when I go online is to check my emails. The first email I read took me to a chess game that I’ve been having with my blogger mate Mitch. Imagine my surprise when he warned me that my content was being pilfered by some low life.

All in all the person has stolen 10 of my posts. By the looks of things, seeing as how he’s posted a whole heap of content all on the same day, I would say that he has also stolen content from other bloggers as well.

I don’t want to send him traffic he doesn’t deserve, but I feel some of you guys may recognize some of the posts so that you can warn others that their content had been stolen.

Anyway, read the following post to see what I did about it. Then there is the post that describes how I now copyright my posts.

Before I get to Why I No Longer Link To The Likes Of ProBlogger And John Chow I need to say the following. I wrote this post many, many years ago. Unfortunately, it got lost when my database got corrupted which I wrote about in my post about the importance of backing up your WP database. Luckily I found a copy which I am reposting today. Before posting it I checked it with Grammarly and I was surprised at the number of errors I found. And so, without further ado, I give you, Why I No Longer Link To The Likes Of ProBlogger And John Chow
