First thing  first though, before I could upload the photos I needed to find a new site for them. I didn’t want to host them with my blog host because I didn’t want to use up all that band width. After doing a lot of research I decided that the best site to host my photos was Flickr! I have to admit the fact that Flickr was free did help to sway my choice but once I started using it I was happy that I chose them.

As you would expect having two photo blogs meant that it was only a matter of time before I used up the free portion of my account but once I did I didn’t hesitate to go for the 2 year Flickr Pro account for $2 a month! I haven’t looked back since. The thing is I was so busy uploading photos and displaying them on my blogs that I completely forgot to edit my profile. I did it late last night linking to my photo blogs and to this one as well. I will definitely have to go back and jazz it up a little, after all, why let all that potential link juice go to waste.

One of the things I like about flickr is you can choose how to classify your photos. You can make them open to the general public, to friends and family or you can make them completely private. The only ones I make private are those that have no photographic value like those where you’ve grabbed a screen to show people how something is done.

Anyway, enough about Flickr, I’m sure you all know how good it is, now to show off a few more photos from when I was in Los Angeles. People if you go to California you have to go down to Santa Monica beach, which is on the end of Route 66. We only spent a short while there as we were on a tour but you could easily spend so much more. I took these few shots while on the Santa Monica Pier. They say that everything in the States is big but I have to admit I was shocked to see an amusement park on the pier itself. It’s even got restaurants, an entertainment and other retail establishments.

This beautifully maintained merry-go-round was housed in one of the buildings.

Naturally you’ll find this ride outside.

What was that I said, everything in the States was big? Well not when it came to buying a hotdog and fries. They were the smallest I’ve ever seen. I could have eaten all these myself but I thought I should share them with the wife.

Just one thing before I go, I feel pretty safe with Flickr because it’s all part of Yahoo and I can’t see them closing their doors anytime soon.

I’ve had them all, from newbies to A Listers, one A Lister even comparing Wassup to a Christmas tree. I’m not going to mention his name because I don’t want to be accused of link dropping for the sole purpose of getting traffic. Yep, I was actually accused of that when I wrote my post on why I no longer link to the likes of Problogger and John Chow, a post that didn’t link to either of them.

So, why did I remove them? It was because of a woman, and you all know how I love to please my women. Yep, I can still remember the time when I pulled out all the plugs just to please Holly, another of my female commentators. Still, that is another story and this one belongs to another amazing woman, Kimberly and her post 31DBBB – Day 4 – Analyze a Top Blog In Your Niche where she honestly reviews three blogger, yours truly being one of them, and guess what what? She refers to the ads on my blog as clutter! So what makes her opinion different from all the others? Was it because she’s of the opposite sex Well, all I can say is that her post moved me to the point where I just had to act, and if it made just one more woman happy then it was all worth while.

Seeing as how I’m talking about advertising on blogs I think it’s a good time to mention the OIOPublisher plugin, a plugin that automates all ad purchases on a blog, including text ads, banner ads, and paid reviews! Whats really good about it is that it frees up your time so that you can devote it to what is really important, writing good content. We only found out recently that my daughter was lactose intolerant, which basically means that she is allergic to anything that has milk as part of it’s ingredients. Naturally that means she can’t have things such as milk, chocolate, ice cream, bread and stuff. The problem is we’ve also found out that milk is used in a lot of other products one wouldn’t expect to find milk in such as potato crisps. This means reading the labels very carefully. Consuming anything with milk in it causes her to get ill and that seriousness of the illness is related to the amount of milk in the product as well as the amount she’s consumed.

Seeing as how I’ve already got an interest in the lactose intolerance and alternative milk products I was intrigued when one of my affiliates contacted me as to a survey they are doing on this matter.

The ad was produced by the ANZ bank and is obviously aimed at the small business owner. Normally you tend to cringe at commercials because so much of them are just crap, but this one is really quite entertaining.

Pretty cool huh. PureProfile, the survey company that sent me the link, is pretty well the only survey company that actually pays me a nominal amount even if I get screened out from a survey. As for this particular ad, they paid me 15cents to watch it, and the funny thing is that I would have watched it for free.

Unlike a lot of affiliates these guys are willing to accept webmasters / bloggers from all over the world. I found this particularly refreshing as it gets a little tiring getting knocked back just because I’m an Australian. Another plus was that they offer 40 – 50% rates on products sold. That alone looked very promising.

The other day I had a bit of free time, something extremely rare in my life, and I decided to explore the site a little further. Much to my surprise they offered more than just sex toys, enhancements, herbal and other products aimed at sexual health.
