How to optimize your WordPress blog? I promised you in the last post that I would tell you how to optimise your blog so that you can increase its speed and at the same time keep Google happy. Before optimising this blog and moving it to a VPS host for WordPress, it used to take over 12 seconds for the page to load fully. Now it takes around 3 seconds. You have to admit that is a pretty big difference. This post will be the first of a series of posts that will explain how it did it. The first step was to resolve the issues supplied by Google’s Page Speed Insight. The initial scan of this blog showed that as far as Google was concerned, I had some high priority issues to resolve.
Why Speeding Up Your Blog To Keep Your Readers Happy
I’ve heard said that Google is now including the time it takes a page to load as part of its algorithm when calculating a site’s PR. Too bad I don’t give a crap about what PR Google gives me, but I am concerned about those who come to read my blogs. Which is why speeding up your blog to keep your readers happy is important. Now it’s time for my Explaindio review. But before I give you the Explaindio review, let’s look at what has been said about it so I can review it properly.
The Explaindio Sales Pitch
My commenting 101 rules for 2009. The New Year is upon us, and I can see all the serious bloggers scrambling around trying to work out what they can do to improve their blog this year. Will it be a new theme, or perhaps they will try to improve on their SEO techniques. I wonder how many look back to see what they did last year and the probable effects it may have had on their blog’s performance.
I remember stressing last year how important commenting was, posts that included;
