A Review Of WP Zon Builder

A couple of posts back I did a review of a free WordPress plugin for making money with Amazon called Making Money With Amazon Is It Possible? I thought the time was right for me to review a paid WordPress plugin that also helps you to put Amazon dollars into your pocket. Naturally we all would love for some kind hearted developer to give us their plugin to review and after waiting for a while for that to happen I decided to go out and buy one myself. See how much I love you guys? :tongue_laugh_ee:

I wasn’t going to hand my money to any old plugin so I did a bit of research and purchased WP Zon Builder.  I used it for the first time today on my Photos 2 Blog site on a post called Nikon D3s MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera with 3.0 inch LCD! So, how good is WP Zon Builder?

Is WP Zon Builder As Good As They Say?

I can honestly say yes it is, but don’t believe me, this video I just made shows you how easy it is to post professional looking Amazon product reviews on your blog. In case you’re wondering why I did my own rather than use one belonging to someone else it’s partly because I’m trying to build my youtube repertoire but mostly because I wanted to show people how it fits in really well with the FlexSqueeze theme.

My Opinion Of WP Zon Builder

Honestly I couldn’t fault the plugin. It is extremely easy to use and set up. Actually, regarding setup there was one small thing that I found was a little confusing. In the general setting under SEO & links & Cloaking there was a section that said;

Cloak Links And Track Clicks Sent To And Use Pretty Links. You must enable Pretty Permalinks/mod_rewrite first on the Settings -> Permalinks page of the WordPress admin panel before you enable this feature.

The problem is there is no Pretty Permalinks/mod_rewrite to enable. What you do is select any option other than the Default setting. As you can see from my settings I prefer to use the custom one.

Permalinks settings

As it turned out I needn’t have worried because the setting I used was fine. Perhaps the instructions should have stipulated any setting other than the default would work fine.

The only thing that the plugin lacked, one that the free plugin  I reviewed in the previous post had, was the ability to track which country your reader is from. In the settings you have to choose the one country you want to target and so you only get sales from people from that particular country.

Who Can Use The Plugin?

Honestly, anyone who has an Amazon account can use the plugin. It is especially useful for those of us who have niche blogs, such as my photo blog. Those bloggers who are strapped for time will love this plugin because of the ability to queue their posts over a period of time so that they appear automatically.

The ability to pull customer reviews straight into your post is particularly useful. We all know that most people google for a product review before committing to buy and they are more prone to listen to a customers review than a person selling the product as their review could be tainted by their desire to sell the product.

That’s it for now, but before I go I would like to leave you with a couple of other Amazon products I reviewed on my lottery site, a Review Of Lottery Pro Player and my sexual aids site. I may do an update once I’ve played around with it some more.

  1. Yeah same. I installed it and its not working with the newest version of wordpress, sent them an email to try to figure it out =/ it looks badass though.

    1. I don’t think it has anything to do with the latest version of WordPress Perevozki because it works fine on my blogs and I run the latest version.

It’s probably conflicting with one of your plugins. I know this was the case with my Lotto site. It wouldn’t even appear until I found the culprit which just happened to be a Twitter plugin.

I’m using this plugins for some time and made a few bucks from Amazon. The good thing about the plugin is that it pulls the content and creates pages or posts automatically. So there is 0 tasks from your side if you want an auto blog. the bad thing is that your blog will not have unique content and you should be really smart to promote the niche site.

Anyway, the plugin is a good piece and works as it says. I sold about 7 or 8 WPZon plugin as an affiliate.

    1. I agree totally on that bad point which is why I recommended in the video that people add their own content at the beginning of the post introducing the post itself. This would include a keyword rich subtitle as well as some key keywords in the introduction.

  3. Whoa! Amazing plugin!!
I visited your photo blog and also two demo site from the plugin’s website and every “affiliate article” look awesome
If the author keep it updated, I will surely buy it when I’ll start using amazon with 1-2 new blogs that I own

  4. I have to admit, pretty cool plugin! But did it improve your conversion rate compared to the free plugin?

    1. Hey Anita, it’s too early to tell because like I said in the post this is the first time I’ve used it. I actually only made that video yesterday and the post went live just after the video did.

That site doesn’t actually get much traffic, and as you know traffic is an important factor of conversion. I’m hoping now that I have the plugin the posts will become more frequent and the increased content will increase my SERPs thereby increasing traffic and hopefully conversions :thumbup_tb:

  5. Sounds like an interesting plugin. My WordPress site was created through using a Clickbump theme – has anyone used this plugin on this type of site?

    1. I don’t know the answer to that question Bob, but I would assume it would work on most good themes. Perhaps someone who uses that theme and the plugin can answer that for you.

I’m going to recommend this one to a friend of mine who was having problems with what she had set up just yesterday on her piano blog Sire.

Really cool plug-in so thanks for sharing this with us. Great job of explaining how simple it is to install and set up. I’m going to send this post to her now.

    Thanks again.

  7. This seems pretty nifty. I had just started using the amazon ‘estore’ but it’s pretty clucky whereas this plugin seems to give you the ability to tailor things a little more. And damn, the commission on those cameras would be awesome!

    1. Yep, making a sale on that should bring in a nice bit of commission. While doing my search I came across some cameras that cost over $20,000. Now selling one of those would bring in a tidy some of money. :drunk_tb:

  8. A good plugin and very user friendly. The Pretty Permalinks/mod_rewrite is the only thing wrong but as you said selecting other option does the job.
Another great thing about this plugin in my opinion is the customer’s review that goes into the post. That is exactly what I am searching for when trying to decide to buy a new product, I just search for genuine customer’s opinions.

    1. I agree that the customer review feature is a real winner. People are more likely to pay attention to customers reviews than someone who may be biased by their eagerness to make a sale.

  9. The post in your photos2blog site looks cool. I still am in doubt though about the seo effect of the amazon reviews at the latter part of the post. I hope the first few unique content paragraphs can counter the duplicate content of the reviews.

All in all, I think it’s one good plugin to have. I just might get myself one. :)

    1. Hey James, I believe that as long as you write your own unique copy at the beginning of the Amazon Review that it won’t have any negative value at all because Google will recognize the unique copy first. Seeing it as being unique what else can the bot do other than assume you have updated the post. If anything Google will see it as a positive not a negative.

Once on you site the potential customer will see actual customer reviews of any given product rather than a blogger’s hype whose obvious intention is to sell it. I believe this will increase the potential for a sale.

  10. Wow, thanks for the heads up on this one. I was into auto-blogging and then got scared away because of Google’s new rules…

I may have to give it another go with this plug-in and just rewrite the title, first introduction lead-in paragraph etc. as you suggest.
Do you think that is enough for Google to honor the content?

I’ll be passing this post onto a few people…
thanks again for the useful information.

    1. I can’t see why not Kathy as long as you make the introduction long enough. I doubt a couple of sentences would do the trick whereas a couple of paragraphs would be so much better. I would even put a paragraph or so at the end to sum everything up providing even more fresh content.

In essence you are enhancing the information provided by Amazon making it even more valuable.

  11. I have an Amazon account and I have not started promoting the products yet and I hope that this new plugin will help me in putting an amazon product review site in order.

    1. It’s never too late to start Lalit.

    1. Hi Danny,

I did look at the reviews and after studying it an other plugins I decided that WP Zon Builder was the better plugin.

  12. Twitter:
I have been thinking about getting wp zon builder, you have mentioned that it works with FlexSqueeze which is awesome WP Frame; how can i find an awesome theme that will work with Flex/WP Zon Builder?

    1. Hi David, as you can see from this blog and others that I use it works very will with Flexsqueeze. Having said that it probably works with most themes but they may not be as easily configured as Flexsqueeze.

unless they are willing to make a skin for WP-Zon, i guess my only option is to look through Flex themes, maybe I will find something that I like, its not what I was wanting, but Flex looks pretty cool, hopefully I will find something professional, of course, I was looking for something professional that did not look like a blog theme, but more like a store theme, maybe i can find something suitable, unless Flex is willing to make a store theme for WP Zon….

        1. Hey Davide, I could ask him if he would be prepared to do that. I know that there are already themes designed for Amazon but I didn’t go that route because I didn’t believe they would be that flexible and I want something that I could manipulate to make it look like I want it too anytime I want to.

          1. Twitter:
It can be as flexible as he wants it to be…the only difference rather then blog style, it would be more store style, not sure why the coding would change, just the design to fit the coding, may even open up a new niche market for him to have store skins seeing that WP Zon seem to be fairly popular, but anyway, ill give it more thought; even though this is all on WP, my intention was not for the store to look like a blog format…

            1. I left him a note asking if he would be prepared to do one. I’ll let you know what he says.
