A couple of posts back I did a review of a free WordPress plugin for making money with Amazon called Making Money With Amazon Is It Possible? I thought the time was right for me to review a paid WordPress plugin that also helps you to put Amazon dollars into your pocket. Naturally we all would love for some kind hearted developer to give us their plugin to review and after waiting for a while for that to happen I decided to go out and buy one myself. See how much I love you guys?
I can honestly say yes it is, but don’t believe me, this video I just made shows you how easy it is to post professional looking Amazon product reviews on your blog. In case you’re wondering why I did my own rather than use one belonging to someone else it’s partly because I’m trying to build my youtube repertoire but mostly because I wanted to show people how it fits in really well with the FlexSqueeze theme.
Honestly I couldn’t fault the plugin. It is extremely easy to use and set up. Actually, regarding setup there was one small thing that I found was a little confusing. In the general setting under SEO & links & Cloaking there was a section that said;
Cloak Links And Track Clicks Sent To Amazon.com And Use Pretty Links. You must enable Pretty Permalinks/mod_rewrite first on the Settings -> Permalinks page of the WordPress admin panel before you enable this feature.
The problem is there is no Pretty Permalinks/mod_rewrite to enable. What you do is select any option other than the Default setting. As you can see from my settings I prefer to use the custom one.
As it turned out I needn’t have worried because the setting I used was fine. Perhaps the instructions should have stipulated any setting other than the default would work fine.
The only thing that the plugin lacked, one that the free plugin I reviewed in the previous post had, was the ability to track which country your reader is from. In the settings you have to choose the one country you want to target and so you only get sales from people from that particular country.
Who Can Use The Plugin?
Honestly, anyone who has an Amazon account can use the plugin. It is especially useful for those of us who have niche blogs, such as my photo blog. Those bloggers who are strapped for time will love this plugin because of the ability to queue their posts over a period of time so that they appear automatically.
The ability to pull customer reviews straight into your post is particularly useful. We all know that most people google for a product review before committing to buy and they are more prone to listen to a customers review than a person selling the product as their review could be tainted by their desire to sell the product.
That’s it for now, but before I go I would like to leave you with a couple of other Amazon products I reviewed on my lottery site, a Review Of Lottery Pro Player and my sexual aids site. I may do an update once I’ve played around with it some more.
