A Recap On My Hottest Poems

it seems that my  blog post Why I No Longer Link To The Likes Of ProBlogger And John Chow has created quite a stir. That being the case WassupBlog has been inundated with new visitors and the business / online marketer in me is shouting out, Come on you fool, now is the time to capitalize on all that traffic and make some money. You need a post full of affiliate links or something. MOVE!

Instead, what am I going to do? I’m going to take this time to settle things down little by recapping on some of my old posts, and not just any old posts, my poetry ones. :devil_tb:

Now the recapping of old posts is generally a good thing as it allows you to bring some of those old post out of the moth ridden closets and into the light. Linking between posts is also a good SEO tactic.

The Child Of God: Yeah, what can I say, I’m a Christian, probably not a good one, but I believe in God all the same. This one just shows a little of my perspective on the subject.

Google Bots And Halloween: I wrote this one just for Halloween, and just putting a little spin on how some people may perceive the dreaded Google Bots.

A Poem For Halloween The Night Of Frights: Another one for Halloween, with a bit of a twist. Hopefully the wife will never see this one.

Blog me This You Blogging Fools: One of my link luv poems in which I try to share a little link luv with my blogging mates.

What Bloggers Do: Another little poem used to share link luv. I tried in both poems to include a little lesson on what blogging is about.

Sire’s So Stupid: I ain’t all that stupid but that doesn’t mean I can’t make fun of myself and how others perception of me.

To Blog Or Not To Blog, That Is The Question: I had some fun with this one. Again there is a lesson here and it was done Shakespearean style.

From Birth To Realization Of The Word: Ever wandered what your perception would be if you could recall your whole life from the moment you popped out from the womb? Perhaps it would be a little like this.

My Passionate Encounter, It’s Not All About Sex: Had some fun with this one. Originally it was a joke that I couldn’t recollect properly so I just turned it into a poem.

Blogging As A Source Of Information: This was an actual post with a poem thrown in. It’s about a remarkable damn we have in Australia that knows and reveals all. There’s a little something about blogging thrown in.

WassupBlog’s Mean Woman’s Blues: Another one I had fun with. I love Roy Orbison, but even so I couldn’t help playing with his Mean Woman Blues.

Walk A Mile In Another Person’s Shoes:  I often wondered what it might me like to be a young girl infatuated with an Asshole. This is my interpretation.

The Meaning Of Life: Has some religious connotation, but basically I wanted others to see how I sometimes feel about life in general.

Man’s Struggle To Control His Urges: Women, watch out for this one. I’ve got to admit I had a ball with this baby.

Google Sucks And How Inspiration Can Help Your Blog: Says it all. This came to life after Google ‘Google Slapped’ me.

The F Word: I find this one amusing, but then I have a warped sense of humor. Read it if you dare.

Blogs, Blogging, Young Man, Old Man, Never The Twain Shall Meet: Another blogging poem. Ever wandered what the old folk think of us bloggers, and how they are treated when asked? Maybe not exactly factual, but I reckon I have the right to some poetic licence.

Bullshit Is Not A Dirty Word: Apart from Darren Rowse and some other ‘older Aussies’ there may not be many who have heard of the Aussie Band SkyHooks. Well, they had a song called “Ego Is Not a Dirty Word“, well after I got through with it, the song had an entirely new meaning.

Dragons Creatures Of Mystery: This poem was written to portray my love of dragons and come complete with a couple of dragons in my collection.

Well, that’s it. I hope some of you took the time to check a few of those poems, and if you liked what you read you might even have Tweeted it or something.

  1. Oh my, you’ve written so many??? I didn’t notice the amount of it! Pure talent, I’ll say. The one that refers to Google was hilarious and yet so ‘heart-warming’ at some point. lol.. you speak for many of us bloggers I’m sure. The love and hate we have for the big G, sometimes the thought of pleasing it yet doing it the wrong way.. ah..

the glittery big G, how do you want us to be? Gnawing us with you big teeth, we really just hope to live..

See? That’s why I suck at it. For some laughing pleasure I’m happy to put my shame out there. lol..

    1. I’m a man of many talents. At least that what I keep telling everybody but no-one will believe me. :downer_ee:

  2. When my blog hits its first birthday on April 1st next year, I’m going to bring some of my old posts out of the wood work too. Great idea for giving them a fresh breath of life.
.-= Gordie´s last blog ..Why Deadlines Are For Deadbeats. =-.

    1. Why wait Gordie, you could have done a few by then?

      1. My post count is not as high as yours. I think by then I’ll have a sufficient selection to choose from. :)
.-= Gordie´s last blog ..Why Deadlines Are For Deadbeats. =-.

        1. You don’t really need a huge selection to choose from. Some bloggers do weekly recaps, some to monthly, choosing either their most popular, favorite or just the ones they want to give more exposure.

  3. Looking forward to checking out some of these post. I’ve already learned you write erotica. “Smirk”
    .-= Rose´s last blog ..USB-powered boob warmer =-.

    1. Well Rose, I reckon I can learn a little from you on that subject. A USB-powered boob warmer….this I got to see. :devil_tb:

      1. How did you know I write Erotic poetry? lol
.-= Rose´s last blog ..How do you Twitter- Twitter Tools =-.

  4. It’s good that you did this recap Sire. I am surprised that you have made quite a collection of poems and I see that I’ve only read a few of them. Before commenting here however, I can’t help but read first the one about ‘My Passionate Encounter, It’s Not All About Sex’. Had my visualization powers revved up there before I realized what was going on. I should have remembered the ‘it’s not all about sex’ part of the title. Also surprising that Infolinks somehow was able to draw some keywords there for their ads, like ‘dripping tap’ and ‘naked form’ which were both connected to stock exchange ads. :)
.-= James Moralde´s last blog ..Bugs Bunny Poster =-.

    1. Yeah, I sometime wonder at their selection of links. Stock exchange and dripping tap I supposed could signify all the tears when the stock goes down. And naked form for when you have to sell everything to pay your debts. :lol_tb:

  5. Who knew you had a sensitive side? I red your Mean Woman Blues, wow – there is a bit of anger there, I see. :-O Read The Meaning of Life, very sweet. “The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want”. When I was a kid I thought that line meant that I shall not want the lord. It screwed the whole church thing up for me.

Very cool, thanks for bringing these other sides of you to our collective attentions!

    1. I am a man of many sides Heather :tongue_wink_ee:

“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want” etc is a verse I have committed to memory, and I say it to myself when things get really bleak.

I’m so glad you took the time to read some of those poems.

  6. poetry! dude something I wasn’t expecting! Cool though. Hopefully the post made your subscriber numbers rocket!
.-= TheInfoPreneur´s last blog ..Why You Need to Comment Here And on Another 100 Websites! =-.

    1. I doubt that :smoke_tb: There aren’t all that many people interested in poetry, which is why I try to make mine a little different.

Out of all my posts, they actually get the least attention. I’m hoping this recap will change that.

  7. A good point that would write their own poems. Many visitors will appreciate them, I think a poet is very important, to hear comments about its creation.

    1. Yeah, reckon there wouldn’t be much point writing them if no-one was to read them.

  8. Wow I guess I haven’t been coming here as long as I thought I was, I have seen a few of your poems but didn’t realize you had written that many.

Have you ever done a book or anything with Poems?
.-= Extreme John´s last blog ..Video from Our Christmas Light Tour =-.

    1. Nope, maybe one day. You should check out some of those mate, I reckon some may give your funny bone a bit of a tickle.

  9. Wow, what a list. It is going to take me a month of Sundays to read this and go through all those post. But thank you, some great and inspiring posts, and some weird one, I see just from looking at the titles.
.-= Robert Bravery´s last blog ..What is the one thing that can improve your blog? =-.

    1. They say I have a weird sense of humor, but then, maybe I’m just pain weird :jittery_tb: :laugh_tb:

  10. You will recognize real artist thanks to quality and numbers of his poems ;) I think that you write a lot and it is good to know that you work hard to do this very often.

  11. Well I don’t have much time to read all. Just read first 2 para of “Blog Me This You Blogging Fools” and it’s excellent.

  12. Wow I’m so glad that I had a chance to pop on by first the site looks awesome. Two that is very interesting about commenting because you can add Does a blogger stop saying Thank You once they think they are successful, you know what Sire the bottom line is we watched this goofs so called WORLD known bloggers get their asses kissed and wondered how when they seemed to do nothing for another blogger. Well the good news is those dudes are played out and what they have to offer is stale and very lame whereas we have the right goods and know the whole deal now it’s our time Brother Happy Holidays :)
.-= John Sullivan´s last blog ..How blogging will capture the prize =-.

    1. Hey John. Thanks for popping in. I’m glad you like the Xmas decorations, it was fun to do, and not all that hard thanks to the theme I’m using.

As to the comments, I think everyone knows how important it is to me, I’ve done enough posts about it. I’m not surprised not everyone gets it, it’s a free world and all. Anyway mate, in a way that’s a good thing because it opens up doors to those that want to capitalize on it.

Merry Xmas to you and yours.

  13. Hey sire? No new updates?

  14. I’m really impressed with all your poems, and I think it is a good idea to bring your old posts out, dust them off for some of us who missed them the first time around to enjoy.

  15. @ Mike, Kev & Arafat, thanks for the compliment guys. It means a lot.

  16. I for one am delighted to see your recap of poetry. I’m a new visitor to your blog and it affords me the opportunity to dive right in! Thanks Sire, now, where to begin? The top I suppose:)
.-= Louise´s last blog ..A Suitable Gift for Everyone? =-.

    1. Recaps are good for new and old readers alike, as even old readers may have missed out on certain posts.

  17. Wow you do have a lot to recap. If I listed that many it would have been my whole dam blog….But I think your right even if you don’t have that many you can recap a few to highlight some of your greatest works of art. Just like Louise I am new reader to your blog as you know. Actually it was Louise that turned me on to you and I am glad she did. Now I need to catch up on some of your works of art.
.-= Jim Hardin´s last blog ..Do you have Visitors Coming for the Holidays? =-.

    1. Thanks Jim, and I will have to thank Louise as well. That’s one of the great things I like about blogging, the meeting of new people. A whole lot easier than having to do it in real life.
