I am going to show you the tools that I use, tools that actually improve your chances of making money online. Simply scroll through to learn which tools can help increase your online income!

Choose A Professional Theme

When blogging for money the most important item on your list should be a professional theme because like it or not they're going to judge you on how your blog looks. If you're like me you will want a theme that not only looks good it has to be easy to use as well.

I use the FlexSqueeze theme because I found it can do all the things I wanted it to do. This post gives you a sample of what FlexSqueeze is capable of.

Making Money With Amazon

The reason many people join Amazon as an affiliate is because of the range of products they have available for sale. My tool of choice as an Amazon affiliate would have to be WPZon Builder!

The post Why I Love WP Zon Builder gives you a sample of what this exceptional plugin is capable of. In short the main positives would have to be the ease of use and the ability to import the customer reviews into your post.

Choosing The Right Affiliate

Most people who make money online have hit on the right affiliate to promote. This particular Post will direct you to other posts that highlight some of the ways that I have made money online!

They also say the secret to making money online is choosing the right niche. One of the niches I've chosen to add to my online income has to do with the growing Online Lottery industry.

Google Sucks And How Inspiration Can Help Your Blog

Inspiration can come in many forms, sometimes it can be because of positive things that happen to you and on other occasions it can be because of something more on the negative side. Take this little poem for example. It will probably never make it into a book of poems and that does not bother me at all because I had fun writing it. It all came about on that dreadful day not so long ago when Google decided to strip my PR4 blogs of their ranking and reduce them to PR0. I was not impressed, ergo the birth of this poem.

Google’s like a woman
As fickle as can be
Use all The SEO you can
She’ll crush you like a flea

You read all the SEO tactics
You apply it to your blog
Then those Google pricks
Give your Rankings a flog

Women like to change the rules
And Google is just the same
She acts as if all bloggers are fools
For trying to play the game

On minute your feeling happy
Your PR is pretty good
Then you’re feeling crappy
And you wish you understood

Yeah, Google is no lady
The way she treats her fans
Her actions kind of shady
Ruining many bloggers plans

We all don’t rort the system
Yet she treats us all the same
Yeah, we’re not all like them
Spammers should wear the blame

Bloggers have to live too
Paid posts are just a job
Oh Google if you only knew
You’re acting like a slob

We can’t use rel-nofollow
As then we won’t get paid
Your rules are hard to swallow
Us bloggers all feel so betrayed

Well I say stuff you whore
I removed your stupid toolbar
Though my rankings may not soar
My content you cannot mar

Hell, who am I kidding
Please give my PR back
Your Praises I will sing
Just cut me some slack!

So, I suggest that as a blogger you should look at everything that may happen in your life as a possible blog post. All you need do is to be creative and turn it into something that if nothing else you can have a bit of fun with. Perhaps it will please others enough to leave a comment, perhaps not, as long as you got enjoyment out of doing then that is all that matters.

Are You Maintaining Your Blog’s Profitability?

Maintaining your blog’s profitability is essential if you are serious about making money and all it involves is a little bit of time and effort. I have just learned this the hard way. I have the PrestoGifto WordPress Plugin installed on two of my blogs and having installed and set them up I forgot about them in the hope that they would make me a bit of money. For those of you who are not familiar with this plugin, it sort of turns your blog into a virtual shop by giving your ‘customers’ access to all the products on offer by CafePress. I have just activated it on this blog and I have called my newest store WassupShop.

Anyway, I decided to go and check out my stats for my other stores and to my surprise I noticed that they had generated over 5000 clicks. I thought Wow, that must have made me some cash only to find that it hadn’t actually generated any income at all. Why? Because I hadn’t included my Commission Junction ID and it needs the CJ ID to keep track of actual sales. If I had maintained my stores properly I would have picked up on this a long time ago and would probably have some cash waiting for me so that I could have bought myself a Father’s Day gift.

So I urge all bloggers to keep an eye on their affiliates, banners or whatever else they are promoting on their blogs. All this means is to check to see which ones are working and which ones are not. There is no point displaying a banner that is not generating any interest as you are tying up space that could well be producing you an income. Try a different banner or even a different product. If you do this on a regular basis then you can rest assured in the knowledge that your blog is running as profitable as possible.

Developing Good Blogging Habits Is Essential

I have learned in life that when I am attempting something new, whether it be a new business or tackling a particular job, that it is always best to develop good habits right from the start because bad habits have a tendency to hold us back, and prevent us from reaching our potential. This is especially true for Bloggers and so  every serious blogger should develop good blogging habits if they want to gain and keep a good readership. There are probably a lot of different versions of good blogging habits on the net but these are the ones that I like to adhere to.

  1. Make Your Topic Interesting! This is important as you need to grab peoples attention so that they take the time to stop and read your post. This goes hand in hand with a catchy title and for SEO purposes it is also a good idea to include, where possible, good keywords.
  2. The Importance Of The First Paragraph! You don’t want to lose them after dangling the bait with an uninformative boring first paragraph. The first paragraph should be inviting. This is also a flow on of #1 because once you have grabbed their attention they will begin to read the first few words that you have posted. If they do not find them inviting enough, then why would they take the bait read the rest of your blog? For SEO reasons it also a good idea to include your ‘Title’ keywords in your post.
  3. The Post Should Invite Comment. This is extremely important because the more comments you get then the more important your blog looks. People usually check out to see how many comments are attached to the post. If yours has a lot of comments, they will wonder why and then if the first 2 didn’t work, the curiosity will.
  4. Be Honest And Sincere. Honesty is definitely the best policy. If you lie in your post or use subterfuge, sooner or later you will get caught out and will be shunned by the blogger community. If the purpose of your post is to promote an affiliate or any other venture state it clearly and don’t try to trick people into clicking on a link. If people think you lack honesty then it will be most unlikely that they will click on any affiliate link.
  5. Quality Not Quantity. Doing more than one post a day, though it may be good for exposure it could well turn people away from your blog. Everyone has a busy lifestyle and may not want to keep up with all your posts. It’s is better to take the time to do quality posts, even if it means every other day, rather than a lot of sloppy ones.
  6. Punctuation And Grammar. With the advent of spell checking software it doesn’t take long to check your posts to make sure it’s up to scratch. If you are not going to take the time to do this why would someone waste their time reading it.
  7. Provide Examples. When explaining something in your post it is always best to provide an example to make it absolutely clear to the reader what it is you are talking about.
  8. Link To Other Blogs. This is something that I have just recently picked up and I wish I had started it earlier. Blogging is about building a learning community and linking to other blogs enhances both the sender and the receiver of the ‘linkluv’.
  9. Leave Room For Comment. If you do a post that covers every point possible, then what avenue have you left for someone to leave a comment other than ‘good post’ and I know how we all hate those comments.
  10. Ask For Participation. This would be a great way to break the ice and can be easily achieved by asking for their opinion on the post or even how they would tackle a particular subject.

These good blogging habits are only the tip of the iceberg and there are bound to be a whole lot more out there that we could all learn from. What habits do you think make for a better blogger?

A Blogger’s View On Google Chrome

Yep, I am one of those guys that just has to try every new gadget, especially when it is free, so first chance I got I downloaded Google Chrome. I am actually typing this post whilst using the Google Chrome browser and I haven’t read any other reviews as I wanted this to be completely unbiased.

Good Points

  1. My blogs all look great in it. This was a real worry and the last thing I wanted was to start modifying the themes to work with this browser.
  2. It was a breeze to set up, no problems at all and seemlessly imported all my passwords and bookmarks.
  3. It is bloody fast, it’s like the computer has been turbocharged as so far all the pages load a lot quicker than FireFox or Internet Explorer.
  4. Memory usage seems heaps better and it also allocates the memory diferently. FireFox used to increase the memory usage every time a new tab is opened whereas Google Chrome simply opens another process allowing it to manage each tab individually.
  5. Simple, no bells and whistles although I reckon there will be some users who will see this as a fault. I have no doubt that addons will become availabe that will provide the bling effect for these users.

Bad Points

  1. Shit! So far as I can tell, I can’t see any other than it doesn’t display my favicon in the search bar. It does however display it in the tabs.

I have decided to run a little poll, but as we all know a poll can only tell you so much and I would really appreciate if you could take the time to leave a comment on your personal experience with Google Chrome!

Chitika Has Proven That Their Ads Truly Work

I remember the time I got my first check from Google for my Adsense account, man I was so thrilled, it was just like the time I got my first paycheck. Even though it took over a year it was still a milestone in my blogging career as it proved that it was possible to blog for money and it gave me the incentive I needed to expand and improve my blogs.

The thing is that I didn’t want to put all my eggs in one basket as I could see it was bad business sense to rely on just one source of income revenue. So, the search began to find out what other ways existed to add to my Adsense income. I came across Chitika only a month ago but it wasn’t until today that I realized just how good it really was. What made today so special? Not much, just the email I got from PayPal that confirmed that Chitika had made a deposit into my account. In just one month. Unlike Google Adsense where you need to accumulate $100 before a payment is made, you only need to rack up $10 to have it deposited into your account, which occurs monthly.

Chitika is very configurable so that it can easily fit in with your blog theme, and they have a whole range of ads you can use including the NEW Chitika | Premium – PPC Ad Units. This particular ad is really special as it behaviorally targets to your search engine traffic which means that the chance of getting clicks is increased dramatically. What is really unique about this ad is that if your visitors come to your blog via means other than a search engine, they do not see the ad at all, that and it is only targeted towards US traffic. I have a 728×90 banner in my header but I don’t see it because I’m an Aussie.

The beauty about displaying a second set of ads is that you dramatically increase your blog’s earning capacity. There may be times when there is nothing interesting being displayed by Google Adsense but something from Chitika catches their eye. Chitika even has a WordPress plugin that enables you to place an ad right in your post whenever you want. Once a member you can also recruit others and get 10% of their earnings as well, and what makes it really special is that it’s free which are pretty well the only sort of schemes that I promote.
