Making Money Online

Unlocking the world to financial success requires the right tools. Lacking the proper tools makes the journey that much harder and takes that much longer

I am going to show you the tools that I use, tools that actually improve your chances of making money online. Simply scroll through to learn which tools can help increase your online income!

Choose A Professional Theme

When blogging for money the most important item on your list should be a professional theme because like it or not they're going to judge you on how your blog looks. If you're like me you will want a theme that not only looks good it has to be easy to use as well.

I use the FlexSqueeze theme because I found it can do all the things I wanted it to do. This post gives you a sample of what FlexSqueeze is capable of.

Making Money With Amazon

The reason many people join Amazon as an affiliate is because of the range of products they have available for sale. My tool of choice as an Amazon affiliate would have to be WPZon Builder!

The post Why I Love WP Zon Builder gives you a sample of what this exceptional plugin is capable of. In short the main positives would have to be the ease of use and the ability to import the customer reviews into your post.

Choosing The Right Affiliate

Most people who make money online have hit on the right affiliate to promote. This particular Post will direct you to other posts that highlight some of the ways that I have made money online!

They also say the secret to making money online is choosing the right niche. One of the niches I've chosen to add to my online income has to do with the growing Online Lottery industry.

Happy New Year & Birth Of Link Love

Happy New Year to everyone, may the new year be full of pleasant surprises, may it be joyous and may all your problems be small ones that can be easily overcome.

I thought that for my first post of the year I would like to share a bit of link love and the first one to get some is the first commentator of the year

  1. Tom of The Home Business Archive.  I especially liked his post on How To Dominate At Social Networking, and I’m hoping that his post has provided me the key to open the door to my social networking skills.
  2. Blogging Tips is next on the link love list and this blog is all about taking your blog to the next level. This blog seems to have several authors and the one that caught my eye was Yawanda Black’s Blogging Jobs: 3 Ways to Land More Blogging Gigs in 2009 which may well prove to be a boon for those wanting to make a bit of extra blogging cash this year.
  3. I must not forget to mention a fellow Aussie’s blog, Lifehacker who has a sleuth of techie tips, but the post that I stumbled on was How To De-Kernelise Microwave Popcorn. But make sure you don’t leave before checking out some of his real ‘techie’ stuff.
  4. For the motorist enthusiasts, you should seriously consider checking out Car Advice.com.au,  yeah, I know, another Aussie, but can I help it if we produce great bloggers? Seeing as how we are in the holiday season and how many people may be considering a driving holiday I thought his post on Safe Overtaking would be very apt for the occasion.
  5. Last, but by no means least, I can’t finish this post without linking to the Top Finance Blog which is run by my mate Mitch who also has several other prominent blogs. Mitch has just recently acquired this blog and I can see it becoming quite popular once word gets out. The post I found particularly interesting is Governor Patterson’s Budget Crisis. Considering the latest economic crisis I’ve found it interesting, being an Aussie, to see the viewpoint from an American rather than it being rehashed by one of our journalists.

Well that is it for the first of many Link Love Posts. I’ve decided to make it a regular so that I can share with my readers those blogs that I find interesting on my journey through the Blogosphere.

Aussies, How Much Are The Banks Overcharging You?

I was the first to comment on Garry Conn’s Get Your Blog Listed In Loaded Web and his post intrigued me so much that I was actually going to join Loaded Web, the blog directory that he was promoting. What a disappointment to find that  the site was only accepting members from the USA and Canada. Once again we Aussies miss out on another opportunity. What a bloody gip! So I figured I would offer something that only Australians can take advantage of, something even better that what  Garry had to offer, as this had the potential to save any Aussie with a loan thousands of dollars.

I came across this opportunity just the other night whilst watching Today Tonight, a current affairs program, on Channel 7. They were talking about a program that could literally save people with a mortgage thousands of dollars. Now I don’t have a mortgage, but all the same the story piqued my interest because it resolved around banks overcharging their customers, and I hate the thought of anyone getting ripped off.  Anyway, it appears that a lot of banks were overcharging their customers, accidentally of course, and even though the amount wasn’t that big, over the term of the loan it could amount to a considerable amount.

Only recently it a major Australian bank discovered they had overcharged fees on 55,000 customer accounts! In total they had overcharged their customers a staggering $52,000,000!

The reason that many people don’t pick up on these errors is because many bank statements can be difficult to read causing the errors to be missed. A program was developed, Mortgage Watchdog, and the developers of this program are so sure that you will find an error in your statements that they promise a money back guarantee if you don’t find one. Not only that, they will also offer the;

$250 Success Guarantee”. Find errors in your bank statements or we refund your money AND give you an additional $250 for wasting your time.

So how can you lose? If that wasn’t a good enough deal you also get the following with the Mortgage Watchdog  Deluxe Bundle.

Mortgage Watchdog software
Bonus #1 How to Pay Off Your Home Loan in No Time Flat
Bonus #2 Equity Magic – $100 Gift Certificate.
Bonus #3 Becoming Your Own Banker
Bonus #4 Selling Your Home Made Easy
Bonus #5 Real Estate With No Money Down
Bonus #6 Fixer Upper Fortunes

$ 59.00
$100.00
$ 25.00
$ 25.00
$ 25.00
$ 25.00

TOTAL

$457.00 Your Price: $198

So you see, as far as I know this software only works in Australia, so we Aussies finally have something over those Yanks! Now don’t you believe for a second that banks do not make mistakes. I’ve heard a lot of other news broadcasts where they’ve actually admitted to making errors, the question is not if they have or not but how much is it costing you? It’s really a win win situation because even if you are lucky enough to find your statement is error free, not only do you get your money back but an extra $250. Man, what a great way to start the new year, which is just around the corner.

If you really are looking for a place to list your blog, why not do it at Cool Blog Links, currently no. 1 on Google!

Blog No Evil,The Fourth Wise Monkey

There wouldn’t be too many people who have not heard of The Three Wise Monkeys and the proverbial principle that they embody, to “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil”. Well I propose that it’s about time that a fourth monkey be added; “to blog no evil”.

No-one can doubt the power of the written word, in fact, upon researching “The pen is mightier than the sword“, which was first said in 1839 I found that there were other similar phrases.

  1. As far back as 406 B.C. a Greek Poet said, “The tongue is mightier than the blade”.
  2. In 1600 the words “….many wearing rapiers are afraid of goose quills” were uttered in the now famous Hamlet.
  3. Then again in 1621 we have from Robert Burton, “From this, it is clear how much more cruel the pen may be than the sword.”

We can now see that a blog is merely the next progressive  step in the written word. Let’s not doubt the power of the blog, why only as recent as last year we heard that even the Chinese government lived in fear of the power of the blog.  Major companies would tread warily if they knew that their actions may end up on some high profile blogger’s blog.
The Three Wise Monkeys
What can be learned from this is a very simple lesson, that we as bloggers have a responsibility to write with conviction, clarity and truthfulness. Too often I have seen posts that have ridiculed other blogs and done in such a way that the blogger thought he/she was being funny. I often wondered if many of those posts were really necessary and what the point of it all was other than to draw a response from their readers. Too bad if the other blogger’s feeling were hurt and if the post itself was not entirely accurate. You have to ask yourself, if that is what blogging is about, to hurt others just so we can boost our own popularity? I should hope not, it should be more for educating, informing and entertaining but not at the expense of others.

So before hitting the Publish Button, please consider the following;

  1. Is your post factual and not merely portraying fiction as fact?
  2. Is the purpose of your post designed to malign another blogger by ridiculing their post?
  3. What, if any, are the consequences of your post? Will it incur hardship on another human being?

Remember that with any form of power one inherits a modicum of responsibility, so try not to abuse it.

Finding The Right Blog To Comment On

I have always been a strong advocate on the importance of commenting, not only on your blog but on those of others, especially as a reward for people who took the time to comment on your blog.

This would become apparent if you were to browse through this blog as you would find quite a few posts scattered throughout the blog all pointing to the same fact, that I believe commenting to be very important to a blogs success. I have done many posts on the subject including;

  1. Increase Return Commentators With A Simple Plugin

  2. Commentators, How Do I Reward Thee? Let Me Count The Ways

  3. Commenting Etiquette Is Important

  4. Getting A High Technorati Ranking

  5. Proof That Regular Commenting Does Pay

  6. Quality Comments Does Bring Results

  7. Do You Want More People Commenting On Your Blog?

You may well fing a smattering of references to the importance of comments in some of my other posts as well. In fact, I think it is so important that I have developed a Comment Policy for the blog, just to make sure the I can maintain the quality of my comments.

OK, so we have stressed how important comments are, but there are so many blogs out there you’re probably wondering how to narrow them down to a particular niche or something so that they relate more closely to your blog. Well I wish I could say that I came up with the method of doing just that, but I would be lying. The credit has to go to my English friend Dan the Man. He explains how it’s all done on his The Magic Of Finding Blogs To Comment On.

Anyway, go check it out and be sure you tell Dan the Man that good old Sire sent you.

Does Google Control Your Blog?

This may be a strange question, but it is one that I often ask myself, especially after checking out a lot of blogs and reading what they have to say. It seems that a lot of the time bloggers are simply struggling to appease the big boys at Google. Sure they try and produce quality content, but they also try and saturate it with what they hope to be good keywords and sometimes this affects the quality of the post as the keywords become more important than the content of the post.

So I had to ask myself, ‘Am I after that all important PR?’ In a way I suppose the answer would have to be yes, but the question is, how far am I willing to go to get it? It’s obvious that the road to a high PR means that I should curtail to Google’s wishes but is it worth it? Let’s look at some of the things that they say a blog should be to obtain a good PR.

  1. No-Follow: Apparently this is a biggy because if you change your blog to a do-follow blog they reckon that you will leak  your PR to all your commentators. So, do I reward my commentators or should I make Google happy by changing my blog to a no-follow blog? As my commentators are so important to me, after all, the whole idea of the posts are to solicit comments, my blogs will stay as a do-follow blogs.
  2. Paid Posts: Now I know that Google hates blogs that take paid posts opportunities because I was one of the bloggers who lost all his PR for doing so. By Paid posts I mean those bloggers, such as myself, who do posts for sites like PayPerPost, PayU2Blog and the like, but did I do what a lot of other bloggers did after being Google slapped and remove all my paid posts? No Way! It’s my blog and I should be able to run it the way I see fit. Heck, as long as I don’t post crap relating to porn and stuff why should they care if someone wants to pay me for doing a post for them. Whatever happened to free speech?
  3. KeyWord Stuffing: Having the right keywords in your title and post is important if you want to get noticed by all the major search engines. If you get this right it will have a direct result on your SERP (search engine results page) and you could well end up on the front page of the search engines. The thing is that you do not want to take it to the point that the keywords become more important than the topic as it will wreak havoc on the quality of your post. Phew, that’s one thing I don’t have to worry about as I find that doing keyword research is a bore and takes the fun out of blogging. What I usually do is construct the post first and then as I’m proof reading I pick out some words that I feel may make good keywords, so in essence the post comes first and the keywords second.

Hopefully this is making sense. I am not trying to convince anyone on how they should run their blog, heaven forbid. I am merely trying to state my personal view that as far as I am concerned I will only go so far to appease the Google Big Wigs. If I feel that any of their rules affect the integrity of my posts and personal views, then as far as I am concerned I will no-follow those rules.
